The idea of a Credit Union is that the members own the bank. This is a wonderful idea that keeps costs lower and people with more options in their money decisions.
The Erie Community Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in Erie County. They offer excellent service and wonderful rates, including checking and savings accounts.
They have remained small enough to still be friendly and they're not owned by some out of town bank that is based in Pittsburgh or Buffalo that doesn't give Erie a second though when they make decisions regarding their money or their employees and clients.
I highly recommend the credit union experience and this group is a wonderful way to start.
