After five hours in a salon I would expect to walk out with a halfway decent looking hair cut but unfortunately that was not the case. After tip I still ended up spending $75 and all I got out of it was uneven eyebrows, a lopsided hair cut, ruined two towels from dye still coming out of my hair three days later, and my hair in some spots is a nice shade of purple (not exactly what I was going for). Needless to say, this was my first and last experience because the extra $50 to $75 is worth my time and sanity... more

Cheap cut, Bad hair day 8/1/2007

From all previous comments written here, I thought to give it a try. Not again. If you have extra hour and half to waste and walk around with a "bad hair day" for next 6 weeks, maybe the saving is worth of it. The student cutting my hair has been the school for 7 month already and can't get the instructor's direction. Before you know she cut back of my hair so short and beyond repair. The instructor still said "perfect", try not to discourage her. You can't pay me to walk in that place again. Go to Cost Cutter.. fast and cheap too more

Great results and save $$$ 4/17/2006

I have been going to Scot Lewis schools for cuts and color for about a year. A cut and color runs me under $50, including tip. I always like the way I look walking out the door. Be sure to leave plenty of time because the students are very particular, which translates into about 4 hours for a cut and color. more

Scott Lewis Beauty School 9/27/2005

I just got an awesome pedicure here last week. They offer two varieties of pedicures, basic and spa. I went for the spa because it was only $5 more and it included tons more pampering and beautifing. The students are knowledgable and friendly. Although it might take a little longer than a professional salon, it is worth it. For only $25, you can get pampered and get beautiful! It is at a great location as well, conveniently located right off 494 and 98th Street in Bloomington. There is ample space to park right in front of the school. more

Cheap Pedicures! 9/25/2005

Scot Lewis is a great beauty school that has great deals on their services. Their spa pedicures are a a bargain at twenty five dollars. Beware that any service at Scot Lewis will take a bit longer than at a regular salon/spa. I found the students to be really nice and good at what they do. Though I hav yet to have one, I hear that their facials are superb! more

Cheap cuts, colors, pedicures 8/19/2005

You can go to the Scot Lewis School in St. Paul and get a great cut for $10, an awesome pedicure for $25 (on Tuesdays it's $20), and foils/colors starting at around $25. I prefer to go after 5, the students are older and it's not quite as busy. You get a consult with a student and instructor and the instructor checks the service at the end. They also do manicures, facials and artificial nails. Keep in mind that they are students and some services will take longer than if you go to a regular salon, but the price is reasonable, students are friendly and the quality is really good! more
