Best

We had the petite taster's menu for $65. With soft drinks, tax and tip, it came out to about $85-$90 per person. Pros: food is great Cons: pricey but worth it

Worst

I don't mind spending money for a special occasion meal providing the food and the service are commensurate with a high-ticket entr?e. (about $40 per entr?e.) Pros: great mar...

Amazing! 10/2/2005

We had to wait to get a table, but is was well worth it. The food was just sinfully delicious. The absolute best crab cakes I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. It was a little crowded and the service was not as prompt as I would like, but the food made up for it all. This is an absolute must for foodies. more

Van Gogh chocolate martinis 9/12/2005

If you like flavored martinis and you love chocolate, ask for the Van Gogh chocolate martini...it's the best in Vegas baby! Pros: great drinks, great food Cons: not for kids, leave the kids @ home more

great 8/25/2005

I loved it. The snapper was great, as well as the bbq shrimp. Don't forget desert, the bread pudding is great. Pros: great food Cons: too bright more

Vegas Help 7/12/2005

TOO bad they have to have the vegas help, as we joke vegas style, awful service!!! TOO bad food is excellant! Pros: food, ambiance, FOOD Cons: SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE more

Very good but not great. 7/11/2005

Everything that hit the table was very good with the exception of the gumbo which was only average. I did enjoy my meal but have had better in Vegas. Service was excellent. Both of our servers were polite, attentive, knowledgeable and above all else friendly. Wine list reads like a dream, tough to pick only one. Pros: food , service, wine list more

Exceptional!!!!! 6/19/2005

I ate at Emeril's 5 months ago, and I can't wait for my next trip out to Vegas in July. The wait staff was incredible, our waiter made it seem like we were his only table. The staff under him was excellent also. The food was just plain and simple out of this world!!!! Starting with the Lobster/Crawfish bisque, and having the plank steak, which was the best steak I can remember having. I asked for it medium rare, and from beginning to end it was medium rare throughout! If you're in Vegas, go to Emeril's!!!! Pros: food, staff Cons: price more

Well done! 12/8/2004

The food...out of this world! The service...absolutely the best! It's been 10 months since I last ate at Emeril's at MGM Grand...10 months too long! My husband asked me where I wanted to eat and I said Emeril's at MGM Grand (even though it's 500 miles away). Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. As busy as they were, I was expecting something to be overdone; however, the seafood items we ordered were all moist and tender, leaving us craving it now for 10 months! The wait staff was the most attentive and professional I've ever seen (and believe me, we eat out a lot)! Pros: menu items awesome, wait staff, price very affordable Cons: , cold atmosphere more

Do a Tasting 7/28/2004

I have eaten there a few times. Try the tasting menu. You get to try different things and it's paced so you don't get full so fast. Everything is always the most perfect flavors. Try and get them to give you an improvised tasting. Let the chef pick what they think you would like to eat. I hear it was remodeled last month. Can't wait to see what it looks like. more

Gotta try it 7/13/2004

Emeril's was the very first high end restaurant I ever went to in Las Vegas and it is still one of my favorites. It is one of few that I have gone back to and it deserves that distinction. The food is absolutely delicious from the salads to the entrees (try the stuffed pork chop) to the dessert (you must try the banana cream pie). Very helpful staff and sommelier if you need help with choosing a wine. It is loud and crowded and not cheap but this is Vegas. If you want a more laid back meal for less money, try the buffet. If not, try Emeril's. It is a can't miss..... Pros: Food, Service Cons: , Loud, Crowded more

Emerils 1/17/2004

The food was delicious. Service was good(efficient, friendly waiter not snobby). The restaurant is in the MGM Grand so its a bit noisey. Decor was nice but nothing special. As an Emeril fan my expectations for service and food quality were met. I thought it was a little more expensive than it should have been considering what I got in return. For us it was a place to go for a special occasion. I'd reccommend you try it at least once. Pros: food quality, service Cons: expensive, noisey location more

Time to Kick it Up a Notch 12/1/2003

My husband and I are huge fans of Emeril's shows and recipes. We were looking forward to tasting the fabulous dishes we though the restuarant had to offer. Firstly, the service was hostile and unfriendly. We were not planning on eating a huge meal because we had been eating all day- once our waiter learned that we were only ordering two main courses he lost interest - as well as his manners. I had swordfish that tasted as though all it had an entire container of Emerils' essence sloppily poured over it. My husband had the steak and it was just passable. Emeril would be ashamed to learn of the poor quality offered in this Vegas branch of his restaurants. Pros: located in the MGM, Easy to get a table Cons: Snotty service more

Top-Notch 7/4/2003

My wife and I enjoyed the Chef's Tasting Menu on July 1st and it was exceptional...from the opening blue crab salad with rock shrimp ceviche in a poblano dressing to the andouille crusted halibut with a creole meuniere butter sauce all the way to the Louisiana cedar plank steak, we couldn't go wrong. The wine pairings with each of the six courses were excellent and the service was exceptional. I literally could have taken each of the sauces, dipped the cedar plank in them and been good to go...a major bam... Pros: Food, Wine, Service Cons: You get full. ;-) more

Dessert Saves the Meal 5/20/2003

Apps were fine, Yellowfin Tuna was okay, and dessert saved the day. The Banana Creme Pie was decadent and deserved kudos. I generally do not like sweets, but the blend of banana and sweet creme was perfect. I was sad to say the overall experience was a lot less than what I had hoped for. Not somewhere I recommend or look forward to going back to. Sorry, but this ""BAM"" was off the mark. more

Memorable meal 4/15/2003

As much as Emeril on TV annoys me, the meal I had there stands out as of the best ones I've ever had. Like others have said, this place isn't romantic, but it has a nice atmosphere, surprisingly relaxed for such an expensive place, which might disappoint some people. I went there with six other guests, and no one left disappointed (some may have left poor though). A few of us ordered the tasting menu for $65, and really just a few of the plates (like the crab cakes, the red fish on grits, or the lobster salad) would have been worth the price. Some of the dishes were simply amazing. One guy said, ""Oh my God,"" everytime he took a bite of his sirloin. Pros: Food, Conveniently located Cons: Noisy, Crowded more

Excellent 4/2/2003

Personally, I wouldn't go here for the ambiance if you're looking for a quiet, romantic meal. But if you simply want good food....you're in good shape. The food is mostly seafood, and is almost all fairly spicy. That's OK with me, so I was happy, but even the chicken dish I ended up selecting was pretty hot. Some people don't handle that much spice, so keep that in mind. I also had some sort of gumbo or bisque that had duck and sausage and a mix of things...again, a little on the spicy side, but honestly one of the most enjoyable dishes I have in my life. I wish I had just ordered several courses of that, I'd have been in heaven. The meal cost a bit more than you'd expect to pay for lunch, so not everything was perfect, but I'd certainly go back again. Pros: Taste!, Spicy Cons: Price, Spicy more

Emeril's 3/21/2003

We had dinner at Emeril's on Sunday, March 16th. The food was very good, but there was a lack of atmosphere...no flowers, candlelight, and if there was music, we didn't hear it, as the waitstaff has a gathering place right in the middle of the restaurant where it is a constant rush of activities, getting plates, pepper mills, etc. Despite the fact that we had made reservations two months ago, we were seated right next to this activity center. Pros: good food Cons: no atmosphere, fairly expensive more

Overall quality is dropping 1/16/2003

Been there 3 times over the past 3 years - each time it has gotten worse. Service was slow and poor, nightly specials werent anything I couldnt make at home. Some things are still great - gumbo, shrimp dishes. more

Hooked! 1/12/2003

Definitely DON'T MISS if you're in Las Vegas! Service was exceptional. Dinner was outstanding! Pros: Great food, Great service, Unique menu Cons: Need 6 mon reserv. more

disappointing 12/4/2002

I don't understand Emeril's being listed under ""romantic spots""; the atmosphere is more clubby then romantic. The food and service certainly didn't live up to all the hype either. The servers had no warmth and the dining room was very noisy. It was a disappointing experience at best. more

Bravo !! 10/21/2002

My wife and I ate at Emeril's on 10/13/02. Wow what an experience. The crab cakes were melt-in-your-mouth wonderful. Simply amazing. I had the BBQ salmon and my wife the shrimp. Everything was delicious. The ice cream covered chocolate brownie for desert should be illegal. Pros: delicious, seafood, wine list more
