CRIME Is Horrible - Can't Park In Parking Lot! 6/11/2009

Had friends that were in town, went to the Elephant Bar for dinner. Rental car, same MO as the woman who's dog was stolen...window broken all belonging GONE! Police say this area has a TON of crime, obviously the Elephant Bar doesn't care enought to install security cameras. This is not new and apparently it won't be deterred. MY HUBAND AND I LOVE THIS RESTURANT. WE'VE GONE THERE SO MUCH WE'VE GOT TO KNOW THE STAFF WELL, BUT WITHIN THE PAST 5 MONTHS THE FOOD HAS BEEN BAD. Absolutely horrible! 4/30/2006

I've stupidly gone here more than once. I went for my boyfriend's birthday and the waitress was actually flirting with him with me sitting right there. The only good part of that meal was seeing the look on her face when I took the check at the end. Also my s/o is allergic to onions and told the waitress he was allergic. Imagine our surprise when he found onions, not just on top, but hidden underneath a salad that shouldn't have had onions on it to begin with. On the bright side, they did screw up my drink and give me some alcoholic drink I didn't order. Also, more than once there have been drunk people screaming so loud I couldn't hear myself think. Bad price for bad food, service, atmosphere and a horrible wait time. Worst restaurant in the world. Cons: crowded, food, service more

One of our favorite resturants 4/30/2005

We love the elephant bar, have gone to it over a dozen times since it has opened in Concord. The drinks are wonderful if you enjoy fruity ""girly"" beverages. The food is very yummy (especially the chicken fingers) and the prices are decent. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. I love the african decorations! (my roomate, who is from south africa would like to point out that they don't have palm trees in africa...). Just be aware that it may take a little while to be seated when you go, but it is worth the wait. Or go on a weekday, much less crowded. I don't know if you can make reservations, but it would be a good idea if you can. We also had my bridal shower here, and it was a fun time. Good service, and we were given a semi-private room (behind the elephant). Pros: yummy food, nice servers, good atmosphere Cons: the wait more

Long Wait 3/17/2004

It's good for a chain restaurant; however, this particular one doesn't take reservations for large parties. I was part of one who had to wait a total 2 hours for our table. The hostess called us during the first hour only to ask if our entire party was here. She said it would be another 20 minutes - yeah, right! Kids were restless and adults had nothing else to do but drink at the bar. By the time we sat down, we weren't hungry at all. My dinner was to go. Pros: Inexpensive, Good drinks more

It's good for a chain restaurant; however, this particular one doesn't take reservations for large parties. I was part of one who had to wait a total 2 hours for our table. The hostess called us during the first hour only to ask if our entire party was here. She said it would be another 20 minutes - yeah, right! Kids were restless and adults had nothing else to do but drink at the bar. By the time we sat down, we weren't hungry at all. My dinner was to go. Pros: Inexpensive, Good drinks more

A good chain restaurant 7/21/2002

I have been here before plus the one in Burlingame. I ordered the chicken, shrimp and shitake mushroom linguine which came without any mushrooms; I mentioned this to the waiter who said I could send it back and they would add more, but I got the impression he didn't really want to do it and I opted against it; the chicken and shrimp already wasn't that tender so I didn't want it any more overcooked. They give good size portions and food is pretty good, worth the price. I've had better luck with the asian type cuisines and fast-food type food like chicken tenders etc. I love the decor of the Elephant Bar restaurants. Also, I'm not sure if they take reservations but we were given a wait of 45 min. when we came in at 8:00pm -- there were lots of people, of course it was Saturday night. more
