Sadly disappointed 1/22/2005

I just came back from my first experience at Elan Salon and Day spa and what a disappointment. The staff at the front desk was unkind to say the least. The services were just okay. If you are looking for classy service not just a beautiful atmosphere go some place else. The facility itself was beautiful, but it does not go further than that. Try some place else, any other place actually. more

I go to spas around the country to observe and give you the consumer the inside information. I recently tried Elan Salan and Day Spa and wow, what a disappointment. From the outside it looks like it would be an amazing experience as the interior design is breathtaking, however step into the salon a little further and you will see the real truth. The receptionists were so rude, who works there and who is the client?? Dont expect to go and be treated like a princess for a day because it just wont happen, staff ruins the mood the second you walk in. I received half a day of services which were just okay. Would not recommend at all. Maybe if the staff changed and they had some manners in costumer service it could have the potential to be an excellent salon. what a disappointment 11/4/2003

I went to the spa today for the first time and I was so disappointed about the entire afternoon I spent at Elan Spa. I waited around 26 minutes to get into my appointment, when I finally got into my appointment I was so displeased with the service and to top it off the secretary was extremely rude and beligerant. I am Doctor and only have a limited amount of time, when I do have time I love to pamper myself, this was not worth my time or money. I would rate this a negative if it was possible. If you are looking to relax and have a great experience I HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere...anywhere but here!! Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: terrible services, unfriendly staff more

More than a Spa 8/26/2003

Elan is so much more than a spa it is a healing center. From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed, safe and appreciated. There is absolutely no pretention. I called for a facial appointment at the last minute on a Friday night and the staff made a great effort to accomodate my needs. The quality of the facial was supurb and my skin has never looked better! dont waste your money or time! 1/29/2003

I was a client of Elan Salon & Day Spa and I was sooo disappointed! I met with the unfriendliest receptionists, and snobbiest owners. I would not recommend this spa to anyone, it was a major disappointment and they never have the same staff for two weeks, they all leave. AND when you have an appointment, show up 30 minutes late, this is about how long you will sit there to get into your appointment. more

The hair designers at Elan Salon are top notch. They have designers who have studied cutting from around the world and as close as Newbury Street. The foil and cut that I recieved made me feel like a new person. You can't find this type of convience anywhere else in Boston. Thank you Elan more

The best gift 10/25/2002

I gave my wife a gift certificate to Elan Spa. When she got home after spending the day at the spa, she felt like a queen. Everyone was nice and attentive. I recommend Pros: convienent more

You either agree or disagree and baby I agree. Eveyone made me feel at home, from getting me coffee to hanging up my coat. This Elan is the definition of customer service. Accomodating 10/22/2002

Elan in one word can accomodate. The front desk booked my wedding party in less than one day after the salon I went to before canceled us. Everyone was perfect and my day went off without a hitch. Try the Paula Dorf makeup! Pros: staff, booking, products Cons: not open on Sunday more

Elan - French for "Go someplace else!" 10/10/2002

The stylists are adequate - not quite worth the price - but better than going to one of the haircutting chains. What makes Elan such a dismal experience is the attitude the staff gives off that they are doing YOU a favor by taking your business. To add to this, the staff is often rude - I have heard several of them making snide remarks about clients. If that weren't enough, the reception staff know next to nothing about the services the salon provides or even how to make an appointment. I am a long time spa goer at the spa in RI. I work in Boston but frequent Elan often. I now go to Elan on my way home and avoid the hectic traffic. All the staff has been their since opening and are not only professional, clean but hospitable. Pros: close to boston, better products, skilled stylists more

the salon can't keep their best help, the owner is mean, i persoally observed this, and they often overbook resulting in long waits, and not being able to keep the appointment you made weeks in advance. I have liked some of the previous stylists, and nail techs and have followed them to other salons. Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: over bookings, constant new help, unable to accomidate more

I have been a client of Elan Cranston for a few years now. I would like to just take a moment and let everyone know what a legend this salon is. For 20 years Elan has been the leading salon in RI. In my opinion. Under its new management this salon is going to grow in leaps and bounds. I had the pleasure of visiting Elan Canton recently. What a surprise. It was possibly the most beautiful salon i have ever been in. I had a waxing by Gail, and my hair done by MaryBeth. The staff there was outstanding. The technicians, and front desk went above and beyond to make my stay welcome. I cant wait to go back for a full day of beauty. Just to see if it compares with the great time I had on my day Spa in Cranston!! more
