El Tapatio is a wonderful Mexican Restaurant! Growing up in southern California, I have been spoiled by fresh, authentic Mexican food. When I moved to Charlottesville, I was afraid I wouldn't find any that reminded me of home, but fortunately I found El Tapatio! You get homemade chips and salsa when you are seated, and the food is so fresh! My favorites are the chicken enchiladas and chicken tamales. They serve great desserts as well. The people are friendly and dinner for 2 is always under $20. They also have margarita specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Definitely a great deal!
