there is a reason the big chain mexican restaurant closed its locations here and elcharros is the reason.if you like mexican food you will love elcharros.the truly are the best i have ever tried!if you go you have to order at least one soft shell taco,which is what the are famous for.the best part about this place is you can take the whole family and not have to wash dishes to pay the bill.i have been going here for over 20 years and have never had bad service or a bad meal there.i dont have any other restarants i can say that about! PROS: everthing CONS: nothing more

This restaurant has the best mexiacn food there wet burritos are so yummy ! they have really good tortilla soup and chicken tacos. There shells are homemade ! they ahve fast friendly service but there is always a line on friday & saturday . The waitstaff are very nice too PROS: AWESOME Mexican food so Homestyle CONS: a long wait on the weekends more

Best Mexican Food and Service 9/12/2005

We have gone to this establishment for mnay years. You are greeted at the door by a friendly staff. The atmosphere is great! Waitresses are wonderful. The food also tasty just the way you ordered. Great Place!! more

Boring 9/10/2005

Boring! The food was tasteless and bland, rice, beans, burrito..everything. No flavor what so ever. I was very disappointed. The best part about the meal was getting up and leaving. I certainly won't be going back. I should have gone to Taco Bell and saved myself forty bucks. more

Great Home Mexican 9/6/2005

This is and excellent place to eat. Even when busy, you don't have to wait long to be seated. There prompt about chips and salsa replenishment, which can be an issue at some mexican places. The food is always fresh and tasty. My husband loves the tacos and the enchilia (sp) are very good. more

I have always had YUMMY food here. The soft toco's are great. The chips and salsa are awesome. The entire restaurant always seems clean. Their parking area could be bigger. I would recommend them to anyone that likes mexican food. more

They have great food here . There burritos are so good and taco shells taste Home made . They also have great service ,friendly staff and fast too . They have lots of parking and there prices are not very expensive at all. more

Definately the Best Mexican Food! 6/1/2005

This is by far the best Mexican Food around! 3 locations, one in Macomb Twp 21 & Card, 1 at 14 & Garfield in Fraser and 1 in SCS 9 1/2 and Harper (i believe). You won't be disappointed! more

The BEST authentic Mexican Restaurant and Bar 5/27/2005

My husband, daughter, and myself went to El Charro to celebrate my birthday. We were seated immediately. Our drinks and chips/salsa were brought out right away. The service was very helpful and last but not least, the food was fantastic. Always very good. Never ever a dissappointment. Will be going there again very soon! more

Not impressed! 5/16/2005

Food was not very good, nor was the service!! Nice ambience. Had call ahead seating and still had to wait at least 15 minutes to be seated. Hope you don't want spicy, cause you won't find it here. Their hot salsa was weaker than most mild salsas I've had at mexican resteraunts. Best part of the meal was the Sangria! more

BEST BY FAR 5/22/2004

IF you have not tried ElCharro's in either St. Clair shores or Fraser then you are missing out! THis resturaunt puts the ones in Meican village to shame. There is not a better Mexican resturaunt outside of California in the U.S. the secret is the cheese enjoy ! more
