The people at Educational Playcare are very nice, very open with you, and very willing to communicate with you. The Tadpoles app is great (when they use it), and it shows you pictures of your kids throughout the day. It's nice to see what they're doing. Any time you have a question or an issue, they are willing to work with you.
Now that she's in the preschool room, things are a little different and that's why I gave them 4/5 stars. I understand that it's 10 children to one teacher but when I pick her up she's filthy, wet, and her hair's not done. She'll come home with paint on her shirt and face, and I wonder why she didn't have a smock on. I get that she's 3 and she's probably playing with the other kids, but I came from a daycare where If she was wet or dirty they would change her shirt; if her hair was all messed up, they would have her come over and get it fixed. The kids are perfectly well cared-for, but I wish they would pay more attention to things like that.
Now that she is in the other room the Tadpole reports are not as thorough. She's there all day and I'm not with her, so if I can't catch a teacher I don't know what happened during the day. I asked that she be up from her nap at 2:30 but I'm hearing that she wasn't up until 3. It wasn't so bad when the Tadpole stuff was complete, but now that it's not complete I wish the communication was a little better. They do have a new communication board online, so I will probably use that to speak with them in the future.
They really know your kid. When you walk in, you can tell they really love your child. They know who my daughter is by name, her personality, what she likes- they know all about her. Their prices are fine; they are comparable to what we were paying when we lived in Cromwell. It's not the cheapest one out there, but it is well worth it. They also provide lunches so that makes it more worth it for me, and it's nice that I don't have to worry about packing lunches. When I have lunch with my daughter now she'll eat salad because they give it to her in daycare. The kids are exposed to more foods and that's great. We're pretty happy with Educational Playcare. Overall, it is a great place for my daughter and I would recommend them. My daughter loves it there, so at the end of the day as long as she's happy I'm ok with it.
