My son's teachers at Educational Playcare are absolutely amazing! He is now three and they taught him how to use the potty almost overnight. He had been very, very stubborn with m...

I would send my grandson back anytime! 8/5/2015

Educational Playcare was terrific! The teachers were exceptional, and knew how to handle various situations. They were courteous, friendly, and attentive, and provided tremendous support. more

Abundant activities! 8/4/2015

I've been very pleased with Educational Playcare. My child has been going there full-time for the past two months, and was there part-time for a couple of months prior to that, since we wanted to do a trial run. I like that they do so many activities for the kids, a lot more than any of the other daycare facilities around here. They take them on fields trips to different places. They went to the museum, and do all kinds of things. I think that makes all the difference! Everything has met my expectations so far. more

Wonderful people! 7/10/2015

My son attended Educational Playcare for about three months before moving on to Kindergarten. We were satisfied with the staff and the activities. If we ever had any kind of concern, they always took time out of their day and addressed it immediately. We were impressed with the diversity of the group of kids. The only disappointment was that we were told they would be learning sign language as a second language, which I don't think ever happened. I don't really blame them though, since my son was only four. more

Extremely pleased with the facilty and the teachers! 6/3/2015

Educational Playcare has a very robust curriculum that is appropriate for all ages. I love that they're dedicated to getting as much outdoor time as possible! Our child gets a lot of sunshine and fresh air. Our child is also building a great emotional support network, learning how to interact with both peers and teachers. It is a phenomenal program! more

A great place to grow. 5/1/2015

We have been working with Educational Playcare since they took over Precious Cargo in 2012. Both of my sons were going full-time for awhile, but now I just send my eldest for their preschool program. My son loves the program and his teachers. He is learning a lot, and looks forward to going each day. I like that they have a good curriculum and teach music. They even have this thing called a quack pack, which works on the development of motor activity, and gives my son the opportunity to work with different teachers. I would recommend them. more

Absolutely excellent. 4/28/2015

My daughter has been at Educational Playcare for two years now. The faculty is very easy to talk to, and they seem to genuinely care. I love that I can always know what's going on with my daughter via pictures and descriptions. I would definitely recommend them. more

Very Happy 4/16/2015

The best thing about Educational Playcare is that I feel comfortable sending son there everyday. The teachers are wonderful, and he is so happy! The prices are average and they provide many more services than other daycare services in our area, such as feeding the children and giving them quality educational support. Overall, I'm very pleased with the way they look after and educate my son. more

So far so good! 3/2/2015

We have been at EPC for 8 months. Our daughter is in the preschool room and will now be moving up to the 4 year old room. So far it has been worth every penny. This is our third daycare so we have been around. Although we have not been in the infant room we will be trying it out next winter :). Here is a summary: They provide food and snacks. My daughter is very picky but she is now eating better and I think it is becaus all the kids eat the same thing (protein/fruit/veggie). Working full-time this one less thing I need worry about. My daughter some times gets their right when they open so they give her breakfast which is really nice. They are open and no delays when it snows and only closed during major holidays. It was always a fire drill at our old daycare when it snowed. My husband and I don't get snow days and WFH is really not an option. This lets us use our vacation days for family days. There is very little turnover. She has had the same teacherss the whole time we have been there. Either both or one is always there when I pick her up every day. So if I have any concerns or questions they can tell me when I see them. My daughter always hugs her teachers good bye every day. Which is somthing she never did at the old daycares. They offer extra class like computers, karate, swimming, and piano. They even take the kids to swimming which is awesome. Also they do field trips in the summer and during the year. I usually send the grandparent to help chaparone. My daugher loves it when they go some place new with nanny or grandma. Education. She has learned a lof from them. She is now spelling her last name and knows spanish and english words including days of the week and months of the year. The room is filled with letters/drawings/words that the kids said. I don't know how the teachers do it. It is not an easy job. They also offer yoga and music and other activities which are included in the price. They take the kids outside twice day and the teachers always seems to have it together. So far so good! I guess only one slight negative is that they don't get involved in religious holidays. So they don't recognize Christmas or sing carols. I think they should consider recogizing the different religions. I would have no problem if she came home with a dreidel/Christmas tree or anything else. As it is important for the kids to learn about differnt beliefs even if it is not their belief so they can grow up to be accepting of others. more

Not only did my son immediately connect with the teachers and staff, but the moment we walked through the doors, my husband and I both felt that there was no other place to choose but Educational... 2/23/2015

We just enrolled our son to start at the Wallingford location only a week after visiting for the first time. My husband and I felt so comfortable leaving our son with the teachers the moment we stepped into the first classroom. Every room is clean, fun and educational. There is no there facility that we have seen that can offer all of these things in one place. We were given a tour by Allison and she went through ever detail we could think of: schedule, food, curriculum, cleanliness, etc. She willing to take on all our questions and just made us feel so welcome and comfortable that we knew our son would be in the best care possible if we sent him to Educational Playcare. I know this is my sons first week, but I will be recommending to many of my friends to at least take a tour because once they experience the teachers in action and see what the facility has to offer, they will be hooked immediately as we were! more

I highly recommend this center! 2/19/2015

I'm confident that my baby is in good hands at Educational Playcare! I leave him everyday knowing he is happy and enjoying his time with his teachers and friends. more

Excellent! 2/19/2015

I love Educational Playcare! My daughter has been going since she was 1-years-old and she will be 4 in April. My daughter knows so much because the teachers work with the kids. more

Overall very pleased! 2/19/2015

Overall, my wife and I are very pleased with the attention to detail and level of open and honest communication at Educational Playcare. The safety and care of our infant is our #1 priority and Educational Playcare is the perfect solution to these values. They have made the entire daycare experience easier on us as first-time parents. Selecting a daycare that would provide both care and enrichment was important to us. At Educational Playcare we know that our child's needs are being met by its friendly staff and the activities report we get at the end of each day. Not only do we get these stats, but pictures of our little guy during the day through the Tadpoles service. Overall we wouldn't trust leaving him anywhere else and will continue to use Educational Playcare as our family grows in time. more

Postive! 2/18/2015

We are proud of what our son has achieved since he started with Educational Playcare. The curriculum is really specific and we we see its effects on a weekly basis. Overall, our experience is a positive one. There are some activities offered for sign up that really enrich our son's experience and the general policies and procedures work well for us. If there was one criticism it would be more communication when there's a new teacher in a room. My favorite part about the classes though is how well the teachers make my son and us feel like if he's okay about coming to school. They comfort him and make me confident he'll be okay for the whole day. more

Great experience for a family that was originally skeptical 2/18/2015

Our daughter has been at Educational Playcare since September 2014, and we have nothing but good things to say! Her teachers have been wonderful and caring. The school is great about providing pictures and updates throughout the day. Most importantly, our daughter is learning a lot. She'll come home and say or do things that she could have only picked up in school. She has become more social and her speech has improved immensely. more

Exceptional Childcare 2/18/2015

We have been with EPC Wallingford since 2011. My first daughter has since moved on to public school but my second is just now starting in the infant room. All of the teachers have been amazing on our journey. If there are any small snags along the way, the staff and administration are open and respond right away to any concerns. I have referred them to many in the last few years and I will continue to do so. more

Couldn't be happier 2/17/2015

When searching for a childcare facility, trust, safety and care were the top factors in my decision. I was very lucky to find all that and more at Educational Playcare in Wallingford. There is no better feeling when dropping of my children that they will be taken care of, learning and most importantly safe. I receive pictures (via email which is on my phone) everyday and a detailed report when I pick them up. The line of communication from teachers to parents is outstanding. I would recommend Educational Playcare to any parent looking for a high standard of care for the children. more

The experience here has been amazing! 2/17/2015

Our daughter is growing more and more each day thanks to the staff here. I would (and have) recommended this place to several of my friends because this is a great facility with a great staff. more

Very happy with the overall experience with Educational Playcare, especially with the staff! 2/17/2015

I am very happy with the overall experience I have had with Educational Playcare. My daughter has been at this school for four years and I love the staff and the education they provide. The teachers have not only given my daughter a wonderful education but they have taught her manners and good behavior. She has also been able to take swimming lessons and piano lessons and the center provides transportation which is very helpful to my busy schedule. more

Thank you! 2/17/2015

Our kid has been going to Educational Playcare for more than two years and the service has been outstanding. The teachers are knowledgeable and it's the best in town. more

We have two children at Educational Playcare and couldn't be more pleased with the program and curriculum they adhere to in each of their classrooms. 2/17/2015

The teachers are caring, attentive, professional and do an excellent job of educating our children through various methods and activities. The administration does an excellent job of making us feel comfortable about our children's overall well-being. more

Owner Message
  • Today, the importance of positive childhood experiences, starting from infancy, and their relation to future success in life is universally understood. It wasn't so when we began in 1986. When we originally selected the name "Educational Playcare", it was because of our understanding of the importance of play in order for learning to take place. We also knew the importance of providing a nurturing, secure, joyful and stimulating environment. Children learn best through direct experience. We believe that this direct experience is best gained through play, for play is the work of children. It is through play that children develop concepts about themselves and the world around them. Our goal is to provide the ideal environment to support the "work" of children. Educational Playcare was established in 1986 to provide full and part-time childcare and educational programs for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. We are proud of our reputation as the provider of the highest-quality childcare, nursery school, and preschool programs for children that can be found anywhere. We've distinguished ourselves by providing exceptional services through being consistently at the cutting edge of technology as it applies to the early childhood industry and we've maintained these high standards with the quality control that comes from being owner operated. Despite our relatively small size, however, we are still able to offer all of the benefits of the large "corporate" child care centers and more! It has been our privilege to provide childcare services to thousands of families in Connecticut. In fact, some of our previous students have come back to work for us and help nurture the next generation!. Full and part time educational childcare services for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
