This place was rather miserable.
The toilet had a habit of running on. About every other time I flushed it, I had to take the lid off the tank to put the flapper down.
There was a leaky faucet in the bathroom. Not just leaking, but the last morning I was there, it was pouring water.
They are wasting a lot of money on water, and I don't know why they don't go to Lowe's and get replacement toilet parts for $20 or so and buy a new seal for the faucet. I told the woman there that the toilet tended to run on, and she said you had to flush it some special way so it wouldn't run on. As if guests are going to figure that out, even if it's true!
The phone didn't work at first, I had to call the office to get it switched on. Then the guy comes to my door to TELL me it's switched on. I don't want to be bothered any more than necessary in motels.
One of the towels was stained and discolored. I didn't use it, because it didn't look clean. Why don't they replace the towels when they get dirty-looking? Surely a towel doesn't cost much!
I came back Saturday morning and my towels were gone except for the one very stained one. So I had to go ask her for more. She said they were in the dryer and could I wait half an hour? I said I couldn't, and she did give me some towels she had around.
But really ... can't they have enough spare towels, not to leave their guests temporarily towel-less?
And it was very noisy from the highway nearby. I had to sleep with earplugs on.
It's less expensive than a lot of other motels. But I paid $89/night + tax over the weekend, and with that, surely they could keep it well-repaired and decent looking.
I called ahead of time and asked if they had a wall hookup for my PC, and she said yes. But it turned out the wall jack didn't work. How come they don't know what services are available in their own motel?
It made me uneasy, because with so many problems, I wondered if they're endangering my health or safety in ways I don't know about.
On the plus side, the owners were pleasant people. I think they need to learn though, to fix things; to avoid hassling their guests - like, the phone should work the first time you try it - and to avoid false economies like keeping towels even after they've been used 87,000 times or so.
