My ugly truck 8/15/2011

Do not use Econo Auto Painting. I got a reasonable estimate but when I brought my truck to drop it off, another guy told me ""that price is impossible, no one here would quote that!"" I said, ""he's standing right there!"" After arguing with the guy for 10 minutes, the other guy confirmed that what I was saying was true. They did paint my truck for the original estimate, but it was terrible. There were runs all over the truck, over spray was on everything. After a couple of months, the paint started flaking off in sheets. The truck looks worse than before they painted it. I will give MAACO a shot. They have to be better than this. more

DITTO CRYSTAL19444 2/23/2010

I would have to say ditto to everything that Crystal19444 said. Started with a nice young guy giving the estimate and ended picking up my son's truck with A TON of Rudeness from the so-called manager. I brought in a truck that had dirt caked in the bed. I knew that I was paying for the truck bed to just be spray painted over and un-sanded, but didn't realize and wasn't told that I needed to spray-wash the bed out before I brought it in. I would have cleaned it out before I brought it back if I had been told they couldn't do it. THEY PAINTED OVER CAKED DIRT. When I went to pay, the young man I originally dealt with was doing another estimate, so I had to deal with this psycho moron manager that actually asked me if everything was ok. Hard to describe everything he said and the attitude he took. I wasn't mad with him to start because I knew that I was going to roll poly-paint the truck bed anyway. I just told him that I couldn't believe they painted over caked dirt. He went ballistic and sent me back out to the young guy again and after it all had settled in, I ended up venting on the young man. I probably would have been ok if they had knocked just 25 off the paint job for this and wouldn't have written this review. And to think, I could have and should have paid MAACO to do the same job for 125 more. I have another vehicle to paint this year and it WILL NOT GO TO ECON PAINTING IN CHATTANOOGA. This is the 1st negative review I have ever wrote. Pros: None Now Cons: Rudeness more

OVERCHARGED AND UNDERQUALIFIED!! 5/12/2008

I would NOT recomend taking your vehicle to Econo Auto Body and Paint Shop if you want it to be done by the very best... or want it to even look good. Body work is done cheap and very insufficently Ex: Sanding is usually eneven, or overdone to the point that the steel has dips that are so deep you can see the difference from as far away as two feet. Paint quality is VERY LOW (has drips and begins to chip away not long after the car has left the shop.) Customer service is extremely poor! A bit of rudeness is understandable in this type of work, but the main shop manager is WAY out of line on most of the esimates that he gives. Honestly, you could go to MAACO, get one of the $99 paint jobs and it will look as good (if not better) than something that Econo will estimate as a $400 or $500 job. They do not care about your car or your satisfaction, all they care about is bringing in all that money you could be saving. Overall, they are a crapy excuse for a paint and repair shop! more
