We are sorry Mr. Maxemchuk felt that he was treated unfairly in regard to the issues with his Echo blower.\r The reality is that the engine seized due to fuel-related issues - this is not a warranty issue in that it was not a defect in manufacturing but a problem with fuel.\r As a customer courtesy we sent the unit to the Distributor and they decided, as a further courtesy to Mr. Maxemchuk, that they would give him a new unit.\r We are glad for Mr. Maxemchuk that he has a new blower as a resolution to his issues. more

Buy Elsewhere 11/14/2012

Buy elsewhere.\r I've lived in the area and done business with them for more than 35 years. They were once reliable, but not any longer.\r Last year I bought an Echo back pack blower from them, even though a similar blower at home depot would have cost less. I believed that I would receive better service from a local business that also serviced it products -- I was wrong.\r The blower has a 5 year warranty. The engine froze the second time I used it this year. I expected to bring it back and have it repaired or replaced in a timely manner. This isn't happening. Petersen's is doing everything they can to delay servicing the machine and does not appear to have any intention of living up to the warranty. more

poor customer service 4/19/2011

It would be easier to rate this company had I been able to do business with them. I was turned away at the door because I had a snow blower to be fixed but they were too busy with lawnmowers. It's not like I was looking to have it done anytime soon either. After loading it up in an suv and being put on hold for fifteen minutes while someone decided whether they would take it or not, I decided to just ride over and see if I could drop it off. I was told to bring it back in 6-7 months. I had no time frame for it being done, it is april. They still wouldn't take it. Luckily, the people at clarke power equipment were more considerate. Your website says you will do everything to make a customer happy. What a pity you don't back it up! more

They Know Their Products 9/12/2008

Family run business selling lawn equipment, snow blowers and vacuums. You'll get a sales pitch but will wind up better informed for it. Competitive prices. They also service equipment, but you better get your mower to them early in the spring or you'll be waiting a long time to get it back. more

  • In 1956 at the age of thirty-four Eardly T. Petersen was out of work With an unshaken belief in God that he had done the right thing in leaving a top sales position in a New York City based textile firm, he answered an ad for a salesman. The product he was subsequently shown was, in 1956, totally unique. It was an all-steel vacuum cleaner that, using a unique, patented cyclonic cone system (rather than a bag), developed and then maintained extremely high cleaning power. It also filtered the exhaust air to the tiny, microscopic size of three microns. This vacuum worked on the same principle that Nature employed in the awesome power of a tornado. It was called the Filter Queen. Mr. Petersen became the Distributor of this machine for the State of New Jersey and part of Delaware. He opened three stores and hired a workforce to help market the product. As he went along, he added other vacuum lines to this flagship product - the Filter Queen - and began to build his business. Eardly T. Petersen Company today is an S-Corporation registered in the State of NJ. Mr. Petersen, now semi-retired but still almost as energetic and active in his eighties as in his thirties, controls the finances and remains as President. His two sons, Keith and Douglas, as Vice-Presidents oversee the day-to-day Sales and Service operations. The current staff includes third-generation family members, and, as a debt-free company the business is firmly on course for the future. Niche Marketing: The Eardly T. Petersen Company has always sought to position itself as a market leader in product lines and service. The company focus is on the highest-quality product lines at competitive prices, backed up with factory-trained and certified service technicians. Each division is always represented by at least one industry-leading manufacturer's product line -- names such as Miele, Lindhaus, Sebo, Honda, Stihl, Toro and LawnBoy, Echo, Walker, Alpine/Ecoquest, Everpure, Pullman/Holt, Numatic, Advan
