I can't say enough good things about Dunamis Acupuncture in Fullerton. \r \r I found myself struggling to get pregnant again and I feared my clock may have stopped ticking. Despite medical tests proving I was still probably capable of having another child, my body was not cooperating at all. A year into the process, I found myself frustrated and giving up hope. Until I discovered Dunamis. \r \r Immediately, I was struck with how soothing the cozy office is, tucked inside this little complex next to houses and apartments in Fullerton. The place smells fantastic and the music is purely delightful. Even the lighting helps set the mood of pure relaxation. It was very impressive that Katie spent so much time with me at our first visit (on a Saturday morning. This place as the BEST operating hours—Monday through Saturday, with many evening and morning appointment slots available), asking questions, filling out medical charts and getting to know me and my issues both past and present. I felt very confident that I found the right place. \r \r I began treatments once a week. This hour became my spa time. Honestly! I looked forward to my acupuncture sessions. I felt totally relaxed and pampered. And every single time, I would fall asleep. And speaking of needles, I am not exaggerating at all when I say I don't even feel the needles. Maybe a slight twinge when Katie gently inserts them, but then, nothing. \r \r Katie is extremely professional, always checking my medical chart, knowing what part of my cycle I'm in, discussing my issues with me. She is so knowledgeable about infertility. I constantly turned to her with my questions and concerns. She honestly cares about her patients and is concerned about them, and I found that so refreshing and nourishing. Even though I know how busy Katie and her husband are (the two treatment rooms are constantly in use), the attentive and efficient manner practiced here makes everyone feel like he or she is the ONLY patient. \r \r The entire practice is extremely cleanly/hygienic. All of the needles are sterile, the doctors always wash their hands and the rooms are hospital-clean. There's not even a stray hair on the floor! Heating lamps, heating pads and tabletop fountains in the room create a very relaxing atmosphere, too. Cost of treatment is quite affordable, and Dunamis does work with some insurance. Katie is very knowledgeable with herbs, too, which I found wonderful. I loved the teas she offered me at very affordable prices and she always showed me what was in the mixtures, how to take them and what they are used for. \r \r I'm currently 8 weeks along and feeling fantastic. I still continue my treatments, and plan on doing so throughout my pregnancy. I'm not nearly as queasy or sick as I was with other pregnancies, either. \r \r I am a FIRM believer that the work done by Katie was instrumental in me getting pregnant at 41 years of age. She never doubted it would happen, and she helped me be patient and believe it too. more

I would give Dunamis Acupuncture Clinic 10 stars! Dr. Kim and Dr. Lee are my lifesavers. I had outbreaks of intense rashes that came suddenly mid-November and continued to spread all over my body. During the initial outbreaks, I was being treated by my general doctor and then I was referred to two dermatologists. After two biopsies, blood tests, and numerous medications, they were still unable to heal me, diagnose the problem, or even determine the trigger of the rashes. After several rounds of prescribed medications, I was not only suffering from the itching from the rashes outbreaks, but major side effects from the meds on top of that (such as hives and swelling of my face and ears). My condition went from bad to horrible. I was miserable. I hit rock bottom and I decided to discontinue the prescribed medications and seek acupuncture and herbs instead. What a Godsend that I found Dunamis. Upon visiting the clinic, it was very clean, professional, and well-kept. Dr. Kim did my initial evaluation and asked me questions and really listened to my concerns and issues. They were able to treat me the same day. Dr. Kim placed the needles in certain areas of my body, and Dr. Lee placed them in other areas...in complete harmony. I felt very comfortable and relaxed, where I even dozed off during my treatment. Afterwards, I got an herbal wash for the external treatment during showers, as well as, herbal tea for internal treatment. She even applied and left acupuncture stickers in my ears to help me sleep at night. I continued to have acupuncture treatments thereafter, mainly by Dr. Kim, and she would ask about my progress every time. After a few weeks of acupuncture and herbal treatments, I am very happy to say that my condition has improved tremendously and the intensity of my itching has decreased astronomically. I've been to other acupuncturists before, but Dr. Kim and Dr. Lee are the best...bar none. They really care about me as an individual and are genuinely concerned to help in my healing. I have my life back now and I am forever grateful for their services and will continue to seek their professional treatments for maintenance and going forward. more

I didn't realize this at the time but the start of a new job and the built up stress that I was feeling internally took a toll on my body to the point where I woke up feeling exhausted even after a good night's rest. I was also constantly experiencing the vertigos, raging headaches and had shortness of breath all while I was at work. I knew something was off so I went to my general doctor to learn that I was severely anemic to the point where I was on the verge of needing a blood transfusion. My doctor put me on Ferrous Sulfate, Iron supplement twice a day and it was recommended that I take it with food. So I followed the instructions and took the pills twice a day despite the constant nausea and constipation that came with it. A month later I went in for a follow-up check up and my doctor was elated to see that my blood counts had gone up. With full conviction, he recommended that I taper off from the supplement and that I should take it once a day every other day. However, that was a big mistake- a poor guidance which led to an eventful visit to the ER on my birthday. On my 29th birthday, I woke up feeling exhausted more than ever and I was already feeling stressed out even before I got into the office. My entire body felt heavy and my legs looked a bit swollen. About few hours into the job I felt weird tingling sensations on my legs and I felt feverish and cold. By end of the day, I broke out in red and very angry looking rash all over my legs that were symmetrical on both sides. So I rushed over to ER and the blood test showed that not only was my blood counts was very low but that I was under producing thyroid stimulating hormone into the blood which could lead to autoimmune thyroid diseases. The worst part of it all was that the ER doctor couldn't really finger point to the root cause of the problem. At first he put me on steroid to counter act any drugs that entered into my bloodstreams (in case I had an allergic reaction). Then he put me on antibiotics and asked that I taper off from the steroid. I followed the instructions but the symptoms didn't get any better, rather my legs were feeling doughier, the rashes were still present and I couldn't sleep well at night. As a result, I was feeling crankier and restless by day. This is when I met Katie Kim at Dunamis Acupuncture who I connected with immediately. She was very friendly and warm and the atmosphere was very inviting but most importantly, she was very attentive to my health symptoms and actually seemed to know what was wrong with me! I was very impressed! The first thing she said to me was let's get to the root cause of your symptoms! The sound of that was like music to my ears! The tasting of the herbal tea was very interesting! I was nervous at first because my palette is sensitive to acquired tastes, however I liked it! I drank it cold as if I'm drinking a cold beverage and it went down very smoothly and I felt like I was infusing my body with necessary minerals that my body was lacking. On top of that I didn't feel nauseous nor did I have to deal with the constipation. After the first week, I immediately began to sense the change in my body and the embarrassing rashes went away! It's been five month since I've been seeing Katie and I am doing better than I have been in close to two years! I have more energy; better skin tone; I can concentrate at work; I sleep well at night; blood counts are back to normal; no more dizzy spells; I eat better; I'm generally happier! Enough said? Katie is my hero and she worked miracles on my body when no one seemed to have an answer to my health problems. I have gone to Dunamis Acupuncture for about a year now. When I first went to Dunamis, I crawled into the office having excruciating pain on my lowerback. My co-workers helped me get into the clinic saw me walking out fine. Of course I went back to get tuned up. After my back was all cured, they worked on my digestive issues which was a miracle. They go an extra mile for their patients and can tell that they have true passions for what they do!! I have referred my co-workers and friends and they all were happy with their results.
