I have never seen a business run so poorly or suck a rude owner. I would give it zero stars if I could. I called the Duke a week or two before we planned to go because it said on the website to confirm that it was not entered out for the day. The man said it would be fine to come 9/18. I was about to call him back on 9/17 to say we had to change it to 9/19 because I had to work. Before I could call my phone rang and it was the Duke calling me. I told him I had to work and we would like to come on 9/19. The man said no problem and put us down for 7 people at 1:00 pm. After driving an hour and a half to get there, we walked onto the dock at 12:20pm and got dirty looks from the two men on the ship. He said we couldn't go on because the boat was shut down. He didnt think we were going to show up. I told him I talked to him the day before and there was still 20 minutes til 1:00 so why did he think we weren't coming. He admitted he remembered our conversation the day before. He said it wouldn't be economical to take us out because there were only 7 of us. He didn't even say it nicely. He had a bad attitude. He also siad he had already given the other guy who works on the boat rest of the day off. Well he knew the day before how many people we had and never said there needed to be a certain number of people either time we talked on the phone and it is not on their website either. When I told him he should have told me that or called in the morning so we would not have driven an hour and half to get there he said he would take us put buut in order to make it worth his while he significantly raised the price per person. By this time I didnt want to go on a boat with a rude mad, not to mention I could not afford the increased charge. Not to mention the boat was way smaller in person than the photos lead you to believe and it didn't really look too seaworthy either. We ended uo gping to a marine supplu next door to the fluke and htere was an awesome guy there who sold us fishing rods for 19.00 and told us where to get bait. The guys at the bait store were awesome and told us where the dock was about 5 minutes away. The dock was safe, huge, and FREE. There were lots of nice people there fishing and most offered to help us. We had a blast!! We stayer there til it was too dark to fish anymore. We plan to go there aginn soon. SO in a nutshell... don't plan to go to the Duke. Even if they know you are coming they may still refuse to take you out and try to rip you off by charging more money, Who wants to go fishing with a mean old man anyway?
