Owning three dogs can be overwhelming. The trainers at Duffy's Training Center have helped me manage the pack. I have a six month old golden retriever and she isn’t a beast or a monster. She was a big hearted girl who frankly needed to learn some manners. It took several months before I caved and admitted I am not a dog trainer and that I needed the help of professionals. That’s where Duffy’s Dog Training Center came in. I took my pup in for an evaluation and in the first few minutes our trainer, Josh, had her behaving like a little lady. I was sold. We started our training the following week and, no kidding, from the first day the change in her behavior was unbelievable. I can’t say enough in favor of Duffy’s. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. And probably the biggest endorsement is that each and every morning my girl is happy and excited to be going for another day with her buddies at Duffy’s. Well to make a long story short, I purchased a german shepherd male dog, Ody, for my youngest son. Because he was still going to Purdue, I told him that I would take care of Ody until Austin graduated from college. Little did I know what I was getting myself into since this was my 1st dog. At 6 months old, Ody dragged me down the street after a squirrel. He was so strong, that I couldn't hold him back from other dogs, rabbits, squirrels, etc. Ody barked at every dog around. It was embarrassing when I walked into Duffy's for the first time because Ody wouldn't stop barking. From the 1st lesson, it was night and day difference. I get compliments from all the neighbors when we go for a walk because Ody walks right beside me with no leash. When the pizza delivery person comes to the door, Ody sits at the door until the guy leaves. Even the pizza guy couldn't believe what a well behaved dog I had. I totally recommend Duffy's to anyone that has a dog! They really helped my husband and I train a wonderful, loving, obedient buddy! more

Our bichon mix was lunging, nipping,and growling at people. She dragged me down the street, lunging at passers by. In one week, Josh, our personal trainer, working as a team with the other trainers, transformed our nipping, lunging, growling dog into a well mannered, easy to handle, delightful little pet. The trainers at Duffy's are knowledgable, kind, understanding, and helpful. I've taken dogs to different obedience classes through the years. Never have I had a dog achieve such a transformation. I highly recommend Duffy's Training Center. Their calm, confident, team approach works! more

I took my aggressive, protective 3 year old 150 lbs Great Dane as a last resort to Duffy's. This was his last chance as he had already bitten people and was becoming dog agressive too. We left him for two weeks and were amazed at how well behaved he was when we returned. Granted it took continued work on our part but he had the basics down and was now able to be controlled. We had never seen him so well behaved. This was several years ago, but we are returning this month with a hound mix puppy and I have complete confidence that we will see the same amazing results that we experienced before. I rescued a 2-year-old blue heeler. Took her to Duffy's. She would perform great while in the building. Once we walked out the door, I couldn't even get her in the car. I REPEATEDLY asked Matt and the other trainers for help on getting her in and out of the car, driving calmly anywhere and walking her around the neighborhood. Matt blamed me because I had a lab mix, also rescued and who had no behavioral problems. He said the heeler wasn't getting all my attention. The two dogs have always gotten along just fine. I am putting her down. Matt, I hope your conscious is bothering you, but I doubt it! more

Molly is my first dog and at 6 months-old, I couldn't handle her. Tired and frustrated, I was contemplating finding a new home for her. My husband called Matt Duffy at Duffy's and signed us up for training. Molly was so out of control and now - what a difference!!! David was Molly's (and my) trainer and had complete control of her instantly. I was amazed as he talked to me and explained the technique in teaching the dog manners, how to take out aggression, and simply integrating her into a family environment. My huge concern was her behavior around my elderly parents and very young niece and nephew. In just the 1-hour consultation, I could not believe the difference and went home to practice what we learned over the weekend. The following Monday, Molly started ""doggie day care"" so they could work one-on-one with her and also socialize her to other dogs and situation. Each day there was a marked improvement and after training my husband and I, we could not live without her which is a far cry from my wanting to adopt her out after only 6 months. I am ashamed that it has taken me 2 1/2 years to write this review but have just referred Duffy's to my sister who has a very aggressive 6 month-old Norwegian elk hound.
