Best

With dozens of Bay Ridge bars just steps from me, I log more hours commuting to and from Duff's than I do to work (true story)... It's like Drunkin' Donuts: It's worth the trip. ...

For a good time, go to Duffs! Tracy rocks! It is a guaranteed amazing time --well worth the trip to Brooklyn! Pros: fun Cons: Brooklyn more

Where Metal and Mayhem 9/7/2006

Duff's Bar is Brookyn's best kept secret. Where all the maniacs, the freaks, the metalheadz, and the curious come together and mingle while tossing back colds one, fire up the grill, headbang to old classics or just chill and soak up the fresh cool breeze of the East River. \r \r Even though it gets crowded and getting there may be a hassle (the L train leaves alot to be desired) once there you feel such commorodity among good friends, old and new, and everyone makes you feel like your in a home away from home. The energy of the place, the cheap booze, the great music and the awesome people make any night at Duff's always a memorable one. \r \r HAILZ to all who have made Duff's, well DUFF's..hehe!!!!! >;]~~~~~~~~~~ more

Got a designated driver? 9/4/2006

Well, this is the first Citysearch category without a snotty, entitled yuppie whining about bad customer service. THAT alone makes this place rule! Psychedelic decor, alcohol overdrive, incredible music, and friendly people. What's not to like? Music, booze, righteous barkeeps, smoking on deck. THIS is a bar! Pros: Music, decor, booze Cons: None, not in Queens - hafta go to Brooklyn more

CORONAS ARE ALWAYS ON HAND 9/4/2006

A family member since Nov.2005 with my wife, Sonia. No other place I would rather party and all my friends new & old can have a great time listening to METAL at full throttle. The owner has become a dear friend of the family and for $20.00 he might take you for a ride in his Cadillac Hearse..... Remember L'Amour East in the 80's ? No one really cared who was playing live as long as the music was loud, and your friends were there partying with you !\r Nick (N.Y.D.M.) aka - WHITEBOY Pros: METAL Music - Great crowd - No attitudes Cons: If you like great people, and great music there are no cons more

HEADBANGERS HEADQUARTERS!!!!!! 9/4/2006

DUFF'S IS THE PLACE ALL NY AREA METALHEADS CALL ""HOME"", AND FOR A GOOD REASON......\r WHEN YOU GO TO DUFF'S YOU'RE AMONG FAMILY......NO MATTER IF YOU'RE A REGULAR OR A FIRST TIME VISITOR THERE'S NEVER ANY UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING DURING THE NIGHT AT DUFF'S......YOU CAN BE YOURSELF AND NOT BE JUDGED OR TREATED DIFFERENTLY......ALWAYS A GOOD TIME, ALWAYS A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE, ALWAYS SOME TYPE OF SPECIAL EVENT GOING ON......AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, ALWAYS A THREE DAY HANGOVER!!!!!!! Pros: KILLER, KILLER JUKEBOX!!!!!! more

HEAVY METAL HEAVEN! 9/1/2006

I live in NJ and things can get a bit boring over here especially when you love your music HEAVY and LOUD like I do so there is no other place to satisfy my craving for beer and Metal then Duff's in Brooklyn! m/ \r \r The atmosphere rules! as does Duff and his crew! Keep on keeping on and carrying that Heavy Metal Torch! m/\r \r If you love your beer and Metal then dropping in on Duff's when you're in Brooklyn is a MUST!\r UP THE IRONS!! Pros: THE PLACE RULES! BABES, BEERS & METAL! ALL YOU NEED! Cons: No cons just a bunch of Metalheads! more

Duffs rocks 7/19/2006

Worth the trip to Brooklyn , easily the coolest bar out there . Better on off nights, IMO, it gets crazy on the weekends ( no jukebox hogs either). Love the staff, vibe, and the house shots are one of the best deals around. Pros: Vibe, music, prices more

The greatest metal bar ever !!!! 3/30/2006

Words can't describe how much fun I had at Duffs - I got to meet and hang out with one of my favorite bands of all time , Type O Negative !!!! Just way beyond cool. Killer music, sexy bartenders and a great time - I love this place - highest recommendation + Rokk4ever !! Pros: True metal, scene, cheep more

Great jukebox! You can't beat the happy hour either! Great on a Thursday night too. Pros: price, jukebox, crowd more

hell's circus 10/3/2005

When I first walked in to Duff's I thought I had gone through some portal into another dimension-The doll heads, the x-rays, the PBR cans-I didn't know what to make of it. Then I met the owner, Jimmy- A six-four combination of the Undertaker and Animal from the Anti-Nowhere Leaugue. He's probably forgotten more about the metal scene than most people will ever know, and I got so drunk that I'm still hungover. There is no place like this. I give it two devil signs up. Pros: can smoke on patio, cheap beer, hot bartenders more

Excellent Jukebox 10/3/2005

Great new-ish Billyburg bar out in the middle of nowhere, I stumbled across it after a North Six show - it was like falling into the old village . Very funky, cool hole in the wall with a jukebox that rivals Z Bar or Alcatraz heydays. Cheap hooch & a laid back crowd, I definitely plan on going back. Pros: Great music, Cool amosphere, location Cons: location more

Definitely something different 9/22/2005

Very interesting bar, to say the least. One of the very few bars to kick the Williamsburg low key vibe to the curb. This place is part carnival, part musuem, all dive, and - all fun I gottta say . The flavor is ""heavy metal"", but the music is pretty diverse, the jukebox is suprisingly well rounded. A great late night hang with cheap beer and free food, it's one of my regular stops when I'm hittin' the town . Pros: Jukebox, atmosphere, prices Cons: sometimes too crowded more

this place rawwcks 9/19/2005

run away from the mundane williamsburg ""scene"" and head out to duffs were the jukebox is one of a kind, the service is great and somthing is always happening...... more

WOO HOO Party Central!! 9/14/2005

Billyberg is overun by tendy yuppie lounge bars. The biker-type Sweetwater is now a hip cafe/breakfast joint. DUFF'S however sits by the water like a fort to everyone who ever knew downtown as it was in the days of the Scrap Bar. I had heard of this place from friends. The first night I went the outdoor deck was packed, the grill was firing up free food. There was a band from Finland hanging out and Maiden was blasting indoors. I knew about the ornaments that hang all over the bar but I never thought it was THIS much stuff. From Giger posters to a mural of Wacky Packs. My Heinekin and shot of Yager were less than a Bud in the city. I warmed up to the gorgeous bartender and met the regulars who religiously drink here. At quarter to 4 AM the party was still in high gear... Pros: loose women, jukebox, cheap drinks Cons: one bathroom more

U N F I N B E L I E V A B L E 9/12/2005

If your like me and live for the music then this is the ONLY place to be. It is unreal. Whatever Jimmy Duff did to make Bellevue known around the world he has raised to another level in Duff's Brooklyn. There isn't one square inch of this place doesn't scream METAL! The jukebox is the Best Metal Box in the tri-state area if not the world! Add hot bartenders, cheap booze, the Old crowd from the original Bellevue Bar in Hell's Kitchen, and a deck where you can SMOKE and DRINK OUTDOORS - What more do you want? Pros: Music, Booze, Women Cons: what's a con? more

User review by slatycleavage 9/12/2005

I never have a better time than when I go to Duff's. The bartenders, owner, jukebox singalongs, nad crowd make this place a great hangout for metalheads after a show or Williamsburg locals looking for a new place. Pros: jukebox, friends, deck Cons: walking from train more

Duff's rocks !!!!! 9/12/2005

Duff's RULES , just by having the old Bellevue bar jukebox !!! It's pretty much a cleaner version of Bellevue , which is a good thing, lol , +a very cool outdoor loungin' patio . It's good to have the old Bellevue bar back , I always have a great time out there. It's the only bar I'll leave Manhattan for. ( and Laurieanne is THE hottest bartender working in NYC , period, ok . ) Pros: Fun, Great jukebox, Cheap drinks more

Black Thrashing Death WAR! 8/31/2005

Best Bar in Brooklyn! Cheap Drinks, free outdoor BBQ food, Hot waitresses, Best hard rock and heavy metal jukebox! Free Hearse rides from the big hairy owner! What more could you ask for in a bar? Pros: Hot Bartenders!, Smoking and Drinking, Free BBQ on Friday! Cons: a little far away more

WoW 4/11/2005

This place must be seen to be believed, it's out there. And the jukebox is unreal - Not what I'd expect in WB . Totally cool . From what I understand it's the Bellvue bar from Manhattan moved over here. Never been there , apparently it was pretty popular , I can see why . Pretty bizzare being able to walk out of the front door of a bar with a drink in hand - smoking on the deck in front with a drink in hand - Nice - looks like I've got new hangout ( I still love ya Rosemary!!) Pros: Great Jukebox, Can smoke & drink more
