Great manicure probably because I did the Shellac. Pedicure polish was chipping off before I even got home. Would not go again more

Beware this place is filthy and exposes the public to raw sewage leaking from its pedicure stations. more

Avoid This Place 2/6/2012

Went to have my medium brown hair cut and colored. I stressed over and over that I did not want my hair to come out dark. Reassured that it would not. A lady with 8 years experience dyed my hair said the roots would be slightly lighter and blend in the with the rest. Result: Bright orange roots and black hair. A five minute haircut that was a joke. I complained and went back a few days later. She corrected the haircut (it still looked awful), but absolutely REFUSED to admit that she had done anything wrong with the color. The stylist, Phung, was angry that I had called her manager, she kept me waiting 20 mins for my appointment then would not listen to me. I gave up. I fixed my hair myself, but I have to wait for the black to fade. She told me my hair looked brown but everyone else said that my hair looked black. Talk about being in denial. This woman actually thinks that she is a good stylist. My husband said that they are worse than Supercuts. I agree. more

I called to make an appointment with my 1/11/2012

I called to make an appointment with my talented and sweet stylist Mandi Buckley, and learned quickly that she has left the salon (I assume for bigger and better things) and was told she has moved out of state!! I immediately searched Facebook to try to get intouch with her. and IN FACT learned that DOSHA is LYING about her leaving the state. How horrible is that? Sounds like a cry of desperation. (Because Mandi is one of the best things to happen to that place.) She is in fact still on Portland, and cutting hair at 220 Salon in Downtown. Also, They offered me a FREE cut with the stylist of my choice if i stayed with them! I inquired about this to Mandi, and she replied by saying the tech. wouldnt be getting paid AT ALL for the discounted services! This is an unethical salon. I can't believe how they are treating Mandi after 5 years of service for them! Do not go here. more

I have been going to dosha for about 4 12/25/2011

I have been going to dosha for about 4 years now and I have to say, that every time I go back, it gets worse. I found a wonderful hairstylist a while ago and got my hair cut by her many times, but then she was moved to a different location. I followed her there and continued to get my hair cut by her. The next time I tried to make an appointment they said she no longer worked for dosha. This happened 3 different times, with 3 different hair dressers. I started to see a pattern, and I can now say that I can tell dosha does not treat their employees well. I've even had a hairstylist that was completely rude the entire time she cut my hair and told Me how she was going to cut MY hair. Just no....save yourself the despair. more

Dosha Salon--Clackamas 9/13/2011

What a disaster!!! I went in for a haircut that involved short hair with long layers and came out with what the girls at Dosha called "" a cute pixie"". Were I going for a PIXIE this would have been great, but I wasn't! My hair is now 2 inches long all over, and will take weeks to grow back out. I am mystified as to how one can take a picture in, but come out with something that looks nothing like it. If I had wanted hair that was 2 inches long, I certainly would have asked for it......this is a place I will never go back to, nor ever recommend to anyone. more

Forget it 6/24/2011

A dear friend recently gave me the gift of a very generous salon/spa certificate to Dosha I went here for a manicure/pedicure. It was not even a little bit good. The polish came off the next day. Dosha is one of the most overrated salons/""spas"" around. The staff is miserable, the management surly, and the services overpriced and mediocre at best.. It's unfortunate to pay $70+ dollars for a mani/pedi when you get ""chop shop"" quality. more

Awful services - lots of hype 5/8/2011

I would never go back. My pedicure was done by a young man whose hands were shaking and he took twice as long as the two folks there. It was creepy. I paid to have a more senior stylist for a haircut as I wanted a change and advice. She mentioned twice ""Well, now that you are older (I am 53) . . . . ."" Then proceeded to give me the worst haircut I have ever had. She refused to wash my hair before the cut and said she always cuts hair dry. I have very curly hair and that just doesn't work, I told her so and she said, ""Let's just try it, I have a lot of experience"" Well, she found out that I actually knew my hair better than she did, she looked a bit shocked when she was trying to blowdry and style it afterwards and kept snipping bits off to try to fix it. I called a halt and left. It was an awful experience in a beautiful setting - they should pay more for better stylists rather than a gas fireplace. Don't go. more

expensive for what? 3/28/2011

I went in for a massage, hair style and make up. This was a first for me, as I have never pampered myself professionally. The setup and feeling was very nice, but it was all for the eyes, less for the body. The massage was wimpy. And the hair stylist seemed like she had no idea what to do with my hair. She seemed afraid of it's natural curl so she covered in in about 8 products. I felt like the bride of frankenstein. The make-up was good, but nothing too special. Both the hair and make-up, though scheduled were very very late. All in all, because of the huge cost, I will not be going back. more

I miss my old hair 3/21/2011

I personally prefer to have a stylist that will use their professional judgment to guide me in choosing a haircut and style that really accentuates and complements the shape of my face. Who wouldn't? I thought I made it clear that I liked the layers I came in with, but I just wanted overall a shorter, cleaner version of it. Instead, I walked out with too short, single length cut that now has to be tamed so it doesn't poof out at the bottom and make my head look like a mushroom. I would have asked the stylist to work on it some more, but they seem to be on such a tight schedule so I didn't bother. more

If you like to throw away money, then head on over to Dosha. 3/6/2011

Overpriced. Not family friendly. Workers always complain they are overworked. Dosha as a corp is money hungry and its not about the customer. Each time I've had spa service, its been fast and sloppy. I have since found a few places that are half the price and much better quality. These places, the women don't speak much English, but they treat the customer like queens for the moment. My last service at Dosha was a nightmare. There was a bridal party hogging the upstair spa area and I couldn't use the steam room or the dipping pool, on top of that, I was asked to change in the bathroom because all dressing rooms were full. I was grossed out to say the least. What a waste of an $85 facial. Never again!! more

A most relaxing experience 2/17/2011

When you walk into this salon, the first thing you see is the styling area. I thought this strange and not persona. I started with a pedicure. The technician was friendly and my feet and nails turned out wonderfully. more

aveda salon? so sad 11/1/2010

I tried out this salon hoping to find a nice stylist. I just moved here with my partner last year and still have not been able to find a decent cut in town. In the past, Aveda salons have given me great service and I love Aveda products. I go to this salon in particular and they girl sits me down, starts cutting, minimal chat, has fake chit chat, forces a smile on her face and then voila, a crappy haircut that looks like I could have just gone to supercuts and saved all of my money. The best part of this place was the sweet check out guy. He was nice and tried to help me out with purchasing some hair products but unfortunatley he couldnt make up for that cold and untalented hair stylist. Ugh, the hunt goes on to find quality places to get my doux done. more

Consistently Horrible 4/15/2010

I have been going to this salon off and on for the past 3 years in emergency ""roots"" situations, hoping to get a simple trim and highlights. The results have included hair being burned off leaving spiky spots on the top of my head, layers being cut crooked in the front, brassy highlights (the brass was instant and I use the correct products at home to prevent this). Most recently, I got my hair cut and colored downtown. The shampoo was freezing cold. The stylist could not figure out how to mix the color, they cut my hair with out checking to see if it was even (it was not, nor were the layers blended). To top it off, my bangs were not cut- after telling the stylist that blending my growing out bangs into my hair was the reason for the entire visit. I have tried and tried over the last 3 years at different locations with different stylists. Don't trust your tresses to this place, even in desperation. I've had better mall haircuts. Pros: Availability Cons: Bad haircuts and color more

Don't Be Fooled by The Exterior Architecture 3/16/2010

I had admired Dosha on Hawthorne for months—noticing their ties with Aveda, the modern architecture, clean lines and seemingly high-end experience to be had. The architecture is nice, but everything else was horrible! From the moment I called to book an appointment I became skeptical, and then I couldn't get out of there fast enough. The email confirmation for my appointment was incorrect—so my Mom missed her appointment—and it was ""our fault"". The associates were rude and all about moving people through as quickly as they could. No personal connection or traditional spa-like customer service was to be had. My waxing was MISERABLE, unprofessional and down right unacceptable. The Esthetician had wax everywhere when trying—oh, yes, trying—to wax my lower arms. I have been waxing my brows and arms for years and have never encountered an experience as ridiculous as this. The quality of the waxing was extremely low and then the process that was experienced from beginning to end was comical and irritating. To top it off she doused my arms in oil to ""remove"" the wax and then told me I was free to go. I had to ask for a towel to wipe the dripping oil off! Seriously?! The entire ambiance was loud—music, chatter, etc. I felt like I walked into a war zone—not really the atmosphere one is looking for when booking a beauty or spa treatment. The prices are low for a reason. They churn and burn their clientele and offer no customer service or added touches to your experience. I wouldn't even let my dog get her nails clipped there! This place isn't even worthy of 1 star. Pros: The Exterior Architecture—? Cons: Everything else... more

CONSUMERS BEWARE 2/10/2010

Consumers beware. My experience at Dosha was completely ruined by the negative encounter with the sales and management staff that followed. I strongly advise you to purchase Aveda products someplace else...a salon that cares about customer service. If you risk buying a product or service at Dosha, know that you will NOT receive a refund or discount for any errors made by them. You will be entirely out of luck. They overcharged me on my credit card and the salesgirl had difficulty reversing the charge. It took her 25 minutes and the staff were trying to get me to buy more products to make up for their error. Needless to say, I will never do business with or recommend Dosha again to family or friends. Pros: Aveda Cons: Everything else, really everything! more

LOUSY customer service 1/29/2010

I went to this salon with a friend of mine. She scheduled a 60-min. facial, I had a 75-min. facial. Both started at the same time. And, unfortunately, both ended at the same time. When I requested a refund for the percentage of time I did not receive ($15) I was told they could offer me another facial that I had to get within two weeks. I was also told that they had extended my friend's service so that we both got 75-min. treatments. I was told that they had clocked my service ending at the correct time, implying that I was lying. Thankfully, I still had my receipt showing that, if their version of events was truthful, I would have had to shower, change, get downstairs, and pay within three minutes. I was offered another free service to be used within six months. Since I had no desire to return to their salon, their offer of a free service was ridiculous. Also, I wasn't asking for another $75 treatment. I just wanted back what I had overpaid. In the end, I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau before they would give me my $15 dollars back, which they did return shortly after receiving the complaint. If they would have done so immediately, there wouldn't have been any problem and I would have considered returning as I did enjoy my facial but due to the very poor level of customer service I received, I will not go back nor would I recommend them to anyone. Now, I'm considering contacting Aveda to share my experience. Those poor folks shouldn't sully their name by being in such an establishment. Pros: Good location Cons: Awful customer service more

RUDE front desk staff 12/19/2009

I walked in for my apt and was ignored by front desk staff. Finally a younger (18-20ish) girl treated me to a hostile stare and checked me in. When my cut was done, I asked the same girl, who was standing there gossiping with a male staff member, a question about the product my stylist had showed me, she again stared at me blankly before turning away from me! If Im not good enough to pay your wages..don't worry, I wont. Pros: Aveda Products Cons: snotty front desk staff more

Fancy Chop Shop 11/24/2009

Being a former employee I felt like I needed to contribute to the less than fabulous reviews. I feel people should know what they are paying for and that is a scalp and hand massage. The boss is more concerned with getting those into the service than the actual outcome of the haircut. Every cut must be in 45 minutes no matter if they have ethnic hair down to their rear! With the shampoo, scalp massage, hand massage, consultation and UNREALISTIC retail goals, it literally leaves like 15 minutes for the actual cut! And I dont know anyone who buys a product EVERY time they come in. This salon is about QUANTITY NOT Quality. They treat their employee's horribly! If you want a great cut from a well run salon, go to MAGNUM OPUS! Ive never had a bad experience there and Ive been going there for over 10 years! Pros: There are a few talented stylist...they should leave! Cons: Underpaid unhappy employees, Fancy CHOP shop. more
