THEY WANT YOUR MONEY: Initially this veterinarian seemed like a good place to go, as they were able to get me right in to treat my puppy's UTI. The staff was friendly enough, but I choked when it came time to pay and the price they charged. A few months later my dog got another UTI and my husband took her in without me, when he got home I was appalled to learn that they had given her a blood test to check for worms (even though she was only 7 months old and they had told me at the last visit such tests were unnecessary until after 1yr!) And on top of the cost of the test they added to the bill the most expensive brand of de-worming pills. My husband is not familiar with the dog's medical history and trusted that the vet must know best and paid them. The last time I actually took my dog there was because I needed a simple Health certificate for domestic travel. I have done this before elsewhere and was again shocked that they charged me a total of $150 for this. $30 for the form (5 lines 3 of which were my name and address which they had me fill in) and the rest was the exam and fecal tests they deemed necessary despite them having just preformed the blood work on the dog. As another impending flight draws near I did my homework - called a few other vets in the area and got a quote of $384 to do the international papers, health certificates, and exams for my 3 animals. Out of morbid curiosity I called Dominion. Once the tally of the receptionist got to $570 (not including the main *expensive* form price b/c she had no clue what it would cost to fill it out) I thanked her and stated I would finally take my business elsewhere. A lesson I learned hundreds of dollars too late - hopefully this review saves someone else the money it cost me. Oh and side note - I contacted the USDA regarding the tests they ''needed'' to do before they would issue a health certificate for travel. The USDA told me that the only thing the vet has to verify is rabies and general overall health (no obvious sickness that should prevent flying) There is no reason at all to do a fecal test or any other test on the animals before issuing the papers. more

What CROOKS!!!!! 8/27/2009

I have come to this clinic a handful of times out of desperation. Every experience has gotten progressivly worse. From the nasty front desk staff to the incompetent doctors. Pack a lunch because the wait is forever! The front desk is too busy gossiping about their divorces to inform you on the wait and will put you in your place if you inquire. Once I finally saw the doctor, our conversation was more about listening to her and the assistant "trash" talk the clients in the waiting area. My dog came in for a rabies shot and an ear exam and all I got was an outrageous bill and no diagnosis. When I called back to inquire about my outrageous bill, the lovely receptionist of 23 years hung up on me. Once I finally spoke to Dr. Wallace, she told me how stupid I was for not looking at my reciept and noticing that the anti-inflammatory perscribed doesn't work on my dog. She also informed me that she has no idea of the prices that are charged, she just enters them into the computer. There are no more

DO NOT take your pet here!!! 4/1/2009

A year ago my family took our cat to this vet because he was beginning to lose a lot of weight. They looked at him briefly but refused to fully examine him because they claimed he was too aggressive and they could not do anything unless he was sedated. Then a week ago he fell and smashed his face up really bad so we took him back. They told us that he was going to be okay he had just ruptured a blood vessel and banged up his eye but no broken bones. Of course he wasn't eating so they were going to keep him until he was. The next day they sent him home saying he was eating again. Of course when he got home he was not eating, and he was making a clacking noise but they claimed it was just him breathing. Both these things turned out to be lies. Well yesterday he got sick so we took him back and they finally took a thorough look at him and said he cracked the palette of his mouth, and that his liver was failing from not eating. They told us that for $3000 they could put him on a feeding tu more

Worst Vet Ever 12/26/2008

Last yr I ran my cats head over in my drive way.I sent my husband to Dominion w/my cat to have her put down. There was nothing else to be done. Dominion did not put the cat down. Instead they insisted on seeing how it went.I authorized x-rays but nothing further. After keeping her a week and insisting she was getting better, they recommended I bring her home to see how it goes. I'm already guilt ridden and keep insisting that if it's her time, it's fine to let her go but they just kept saying let's see how she does, lets see how she does at home.I picked up a horribly disfigured cat. Very sad.Broken upper+lower jaw + eye socket. Her eye had fallen into her head. While I a'm still inquiring if this is a good idea, they hit me with a $2,400.00 bill. My cat looks worse than death and is absolutely miserable and I'm staring down a $2500 bill which I did not expect nor could afford. I was so tramatized I just lft the bill and took the cat. When I got the cat home, she could not eat nor more

Never Coming Back 10/5/2007

I brought my 2 dogs in today to get check ups because they broke out with some kind of rash. The appointment was set 2 days in advance. When we got there we ended up waiting for 45 minutes. The dogs were stressed out and we were stressed out from the wait. There were at least 3 staff members sitting behind the desk and none informed us that they were down to only one doctor. A lady ahead of us who had been waiting for an hour was forced to leave because she had to go to work. Imagine that, people actually having to work and that's why they make appointments and expect to have the appointment kept. We finally were moved to an examination room because the dogs were barking from frustration and stress. After another 15 minute wait, I went out to check on the doctor to see what was taking him so long. We were told we were next. To my sheer disgust I come to find out that they took care of the people who came in after us. When I talked to one of the staff members there about this she raised more

COULD NOT CARE LESS FOR YOUR PET. 9/10/2007

I HAVE BEEN TAKEN MY DOGS TO THIS VET FOR LONG TIME FOR THE REGULAR CHECK UPS AND ANNUAL VACCINATIONS BUT ONE OF THEN GOT REALLY SICK AND THE VET WAS INSENSITIVE. MY DOG GOT DIAGNOSED WITH A HEART MURMUR AFTER A SERIES OF TEST AND A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS. I EVEN TOOK HIM TO ANOTHER VET FOR A SECOND OPINION. BUT DECIDED TO STAY WITH HIS ORIGINAL VET SINCE HE HAS BEEN SEEING MY DOG FOR YEARS. THE DOG WAS TO BE TAKEN BACK TO THE VET A COUPLES OF WEEKS LATER FOR SOME MORE TESTS, TO SEE HOW HE WAS REACTING TO THE MEDICATION, BUT THE VET LET ME LEAVE THE OFFICE WITHOUT MAKING THE APPOINMENT, ALSO THE VET KNOWING HOW SICK MY DOG WAS NEVER CALLED TO CHECK TO SEE HOW HE WAS DOING. THE VET THE I TOOK HIM FOR A SECOND OPINION CALLED TWICE TO SEE HOW MY DOG WAS DOING. HERE IT TO SHOW YOU THIS VET IS IN THIS BUSINESS FOR THE MONEY NOT FOR THE CARE OF ANIMALS. PLEASE IF YOU TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS VET GET A NEW VET IF NOT PLEASE DON'T DO IT. LEAVING YOUR PET IN THE HANDS OF THIS VET IS LIKE SIGNING A DE more

Highly recommended 11/10/2005

If you want to take your place to the vet and nto worry about their safety this is the place to go. This place certainly takes care of any pets that enter through that door. For example, you leave your animal over night for a surgery, your pet receives enough food and water and they're kept in a safe environment. PROS: Friendly pet service CONS: limited parking more
