BEST Daycare! 11/7/2011

I don't know what the person below is talking about, as I have been taking my dogs to Doggie Pause since it opened and have never experienced anything but a friendly, professional staff and facility. Julie has always been extremely kind and helpful. Judy, the owner, has explained to me that the number one priority at Doggie Pause is staff/animal interaction, so I'm sure ALL dogs - big or small - are getting fine attention. I also know that the staff works (for no extra fee) on housebreaking puppies and other small dogs. I LOVE Doggie Pause and would never dream of leaving my sweeties any where else! Again, BEST DAYCARE! more

I wouldn't recommend 1/8/2011

They don't have a separate yard for small dogs and very young puppies. This can be a disadvantage if you are working on housebreaking, since the small dog group only goes out 3 or 4 times a day. I also wonder about the attention and playtime they would get if they aren't allowed ample time to run and play outdoors in nice weather. more

Terrific, caring, and convenient facility!!! 11/5/2008

I have been taking my doberman to Doggie Pause for 3 years. It's a wonderful, caring facility that really watches out for your pet. Agressive dogs are not allowed. Upon initial entry, they do a 1/2 day evaluation to make sure your pet will get along. My dog, Maxi, a rescue dog, loves to go there and is happily tired at the end of the day. The staff is dedicated and well trained. The facility is very clean. Judy Gee, the Owner, is extremely professional and easy to work with. She stays aware of medical issues and diseases going around, then informs owners. Julie, the Manager, is first rate. Hours and location (Hampden and Broadway area, just north of the King Soopers on Acoma) are extremely convenient for me. The doggie daycare events around holidays and support of the humane society is terrific and fun for the dogs. I highly recommend this facility. Rates are very reasonable, care and attention is great!!! Pros: Care, professional staff, cleanliness, attenativeness, convenience, fun events more

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME 7/25/2008

I researched five doggie day care places and when I found Doggie Pause it was the only place I would ever consider for my smaller dogs. The other places had a huge focus on the big guys, and ""small"" dogs can be anything up to about 40 pounds - which is huge when one of mine is 6 pounds!! My Whippet is high-energy, reactive and a little fussy. All of the staff have been briefed in how to deal with him - he's so cute, but don't pick him up!! - to avoid any uncomfortable moments. I appreciate that they have continued to welcome him with open arms, despite his sensitivities. He has a blast - if I ask if he wants to go to ""school"" he practically explodes with excitement. My Chihuahua has had multiple medical issues, and I know that they will watch her closely and gauge her interest in socializing or resting. She tends to overdo it - never stopping all day - so she is now on a nap schedule to avoid exhaustion. It is such a great opportunity for them to be running, playing, socializing and having fun while I am at work. They run off a lot of energy, and it is really healthy exercise for both of them. SO much better than being bored at home!! Pros: Great staff - always friendly, professional and warm Cons: None more

Fun for dogs of all kinds 10/30/2007

I feel so comfortable taking my 2 dogs to Doggie Pause. One is big and one is little, luckily they have rooms separating them with friends of their own size. The place is so clean and the staff is not only nice, they really seem overjoyed to be there. more

miss this place so much 9/24/2007

I absolutely LOVE Doggie Pause. I used to live in Englewood and took my babies there almost everyday. The owner, Judy is an angel to dogs and owners alike. She knows EVERYTHING there is to know about dogs and she loves her work. The care given to the dogs that go there is so incredible. She takes time to know all the issues of the dogs, she doesn't make them go in crates for naptime in the middle of the day, and you can tell she truly cares about each dog attending. Me and my doggies miss Judy and doggie pause so much that occasionally I will drive all the way out there for them to have a special day. It's totally worth it! Pros: everything! more

really, really nice 7/25/2007

I boarded my dogs at Doggie Pause last weekend and had a wonderful experience. What a nice place and great staff. I felt like they really know what they are doing. more

Nice facility 9/9/2006

This was a nice place. They do daycare and boarding and I feel they care about little dogs too. A lot of the other ones I checked out didn't have separate areas for the little guys. I also like that they don't give nap time. I don't pay $20 a day to have my corgi thrown in a crate for hours each day! Pros: nice people working there, clean more
