Poor Customer Service 8/19/2010

I asked if I could drop my car off for a check engine light on Thursday night for it to be looked at on Friday since I start work earlier than they open in the morning and was told, "No they do not babysit cars there and I should just keep it parked at my house.". I guess I am finding a new mechanic who actually wants to take my money to fix my car. more

John Distad and his family provide high-quality, honest, dependable repair and car maintainence services to the Captiol Hill community of DC and have been doing so for more than 30 years. High Praise for Distad's BP 2/21/2006

I've been going to Distad's for many years. They know everything about cars. As a family run business, they are a real institution in the Capital Hill community. I recommend them without qualification. (If all American businesses were this good at what they do, we'd have nothing to fear from either foreign competition or domestic incompetence!) more

Consumer Checkbook 9/18/2005

This shop usually rates well with the Washington Consumer Checkbook. Basically that means they'll fix your car without cheating you. My experience has been that they're very honorable and pretty friendly. They're pretty busy, they're efficient, and usually it's hard to find a place to fit your car into their lot. Make sure your parking permit sticker is up to date. more

I've gone to Distad's for years, as do many of my neighbors, and they always offer a good price, great service, and don't try to sell me things I don't need. more
