Worst Sales Presentation Ever! 3/9/2013

we just returned from the Richmond Va store and FOUND ANOTHER SOLICITATION in our inbox!! We attended what we considered to be one of the worst sales presentations: **the condescending presenters were not professional in attitude or demeanor or product knowledge **complete with a confrontational "owner" father and son team who insulted us in front of the other visitors by saying they were credit challenged and could only pay for the membership with in house financing at 17.5%apr, **by starting with a price close/immediate discount for today/now **to a take it or leave it close BEFORE we knew what a "Gold or Plat (viz)" level was, **as well as comparisons to vacations in St Maarten (from the same people who said 75% of the membership could buy without the financing). **after being sworn to agree to NOT use a retail store to shop the items we might be interested in---and then told to go look, touch, feel those same items before ordering from the Club (since that what the "owner-son'''s mother does **after being told this was an all or nothing deal, the "owner-father" approached me in private and offered a secret discount for retired military purchasers ** think we will spend 6000 dollars plus an additional yearly fee to use a discount ? **when I told the "owner/father" that I would buy at the yearly price without the gouge me price, he walked away and began to play with a set of Samurai Swords that were on display **and they told us they make no mark up--just the 8% handling, over-priced shipping, "must use" contractors for delivery and installation, additional removal fees--but when questioned about that, they said it was business. **displayed invoices (enhanced copies with mark ups included) that were not reflective of true cost (I took a picture of one and checked against MFR invoice obtained from a colleague who owns an appliance store) ******************do you think we will EVER come back?******************* more

Worthwhile if you plan to spend anyway 6/4/2010

I read the reviews, and it appears that the dissatisfaction stemmed from the new members themselves, and not the services of the company, in that the savings could not be appreciated if there were little-to-no spending on the part of the consumer. I have heard many parents boast of the savings w/ DirectBuy, because they had plans to spend, and saw the opportunity, valued the savings enough to express a high level of satisfaction. Suggestion: if you don't plan to spend, don't join! more
