Diamond in the rough! 12/29/2009

Dina's Bridal is no frills and not fancy shmancy but they really know their stuff. It is an amazing find, so don't worry about any negative reviews you read - they aren't true. Gina (the daughter) is awesome, we got to know each other very well since i felt like i was in there 100 times with all 3 of my sisters throughout the whole process - she really knows what she is doing and gives you her total honest opinion, so trust her!! I made 3 appts for my sister who got married this weekend. Dina's was our first stop and after trying on 3 dresses, i called the other places to cancel - look no further!! My sister didn't really know what she wanted but had an idea. She told Gina what she did and did not like, and Gina pulled a few dresses from the racks for her. All looked great but the 3rd dress she tried on was definitely ""the one"", it was absolutely gorgeous, fit her body like a glove and EXTREMELY reasonably priced (i'm talking less than $500). Gina also gave her the perfect bustier type bra to wear under her gown and we got her veil there too (FYI - Dina's also carries bustiers, shoes, hair accessories like tiaras, veils and bridal jewelry). Gina and Dina do all of the alterations and the dress came out beautiful. My 3 sisters and I were all bridesmaids and we all got our dresses from Dina's. They were gorgeous - all 4 of us (including the bride) ordered Watters/WTOO dresses - Dina's had a pretty good selection of samples in the store but can order any style you want that you see on the designer's website (they also carry a lot of popular bridal/bridesmaid lines like Bill Levkoff). We each ordered a different style but in the same color and Gina did all of the alterations for us as well. Another bridesmaid who lives in Japan also ordered her dress from Dina's and they shipped it to her and it was perfect. Mine was style #264 and i loved it. My sisters got #762 and #367 which were very pretty too. They all happened to be in duchess satin and were each around $165 not including alterations (mine were about $65 but i am sure they vary depending on what needs to be done). We all got so many compliments on our dresses! Their customer service is great and they make you feel like family here. i would highly recommend Dina's as the first and only stop for any bride-to-be!! Pros: great selection, nice family store, reasonable prices!! Cons: not much, need to get their website back up and running! more

Dina's is SIMPLY THE BEST! 6/8/2009

We had been searching for the right wedding dress for months. Having already gone to David's Bridal, Wilshire Bridal, all the major retailers, and several other shops of varying price ranges, both online and local, we were almost ready to give up. Pros: Absolute professionalism with lots and lots of heart Cons: Just be mindful of the parking meters. more

The NICEST people EVER 2/16/2009

Good thing that I didn't read some of the negative reviews on this site before I went there with my best friend because Gina (the daughter) has been so amazing from the moment we stepped into her tiny store all the way to the end. She's not someone to b.s you and kiss your butt just because she wants to sell you something. Maybe that's why some people thought initially that she was rude(?) but that's so not true. She's honest, very professional, punctual and she will tell you that a dress is ugly on you if it is. We really appreciated her. She was prompt with all our appointments and her workmanship was far superior than any fancy store. It really was a great experience and will refer everyone I know to her. Pros: great dresses at reasonable prices! Cons: small store, not the most stylish but who cares??! more

They nailed it! 10/30/2008

I just got married and about 2 months before my wedding i, of course, decided that i didn't like the wedding dress that i already had and went into a panic. I knew about Dina's from being a bridesmaid several years. ago. Dina is the owner and the seamstress. Gina is her daughter and she is the one who mostly takes care of the customers. It's been a family business for many years and they really know what they are doing. When i walked in and told Gina my situation she had compassion and really cared. I told her we were having a beach wedding. She pulled several dresses for me to try and the very first one i tried on was the one that i ended buying. Gina nailed it straight away! To humor myself i checked out many other boutiques and didn't find one i liked better and all the others were much higher priced. Since i was on a budget and time constraint, Gina offered to sell me the sample at a really good price. Dina did all the tailoring on it and it fit perfect and looked brand new. They are a great team and they both give their honest opinions. I highly recommend this bridal boutique. It's very small, but they have all kinds of dresses. The prices are reasonable. Dina got all the tailoring done in a timely manner. Gina even helped me figure out the best way to get my dress to my destination wedding. There are only two negatives that i can think of. One is that it gets really hot in the boutique and two, it's not the prettiest shop that i went to. Does that really matter? Not for me. Finding the best dress and getting great service are the most important and that's what you get at Dina's Bridal. Just an fyi, there's only metered parking. more

The most Honest Bridal gown service I've ever had 5/13/2008

I'm not really into the whole review system so many are passionate about until I saw some of the reviews written for Gina. I had the misfortune (for Bridal businesses) to be getting married 5 months after getting engaged - my choice and every bridal shop I walked into greeted me with ""it can't be done, go somewhere else"" all except for 2 places - Davids Bridal and Dina's Bridal. If any of you have stepped in a David's bridal store, you know already what I'm talking about when I say how pushy, demanding and focused they are on you buying THAT dress (the first one you tried on) because you LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL and that's before slugging me with an extra fee to make it in a longer length and a rush fee. Pros: one on one service Cons: not the best looking bridal shop you'll walk into more

A Hidden Gem! The most elegant wedding dresses 5/5/2008

Dina's Bridal shop is a MUST See for every bride who is looking for a dress that will make her feel confident and look gorgeous. Gina makes you feel at ease and listens to you. Her mother, Dina, creates the most skillful alterations. I decided to add straps, crystal broderies on the straps, and cut my train, and the dress was so exquisite and perfectly fitted to my body. I was able to find my veil, tiara, and the most beautiful jewelry. All the girls at my wedding wanted to know where I got it! I highly recommend Dina's Bridal, Dina and Gina are the nicest and most professional bridal shop owners (zero sale pressure). THANK YOU you made me the most beautiful bride!!! There is a wide range of price so you should be able to find what you are looking for. My dress was from a canadian designer close to $2,000. Pros: service, price and craftmenship more

Best Priced Dress in LA! 4/20/2008

My experience at Dina's Bridal was fantastic. I had been all over looking for the perfect Fiji wedding dress. Everywhere else I went, the prices were $3,000 for a decent dress. Or $1,000 for a shabby dress. Not including alterations. Nothing in between. I ended up finding an amazing designer dress for $1,600. As every bride should know, the accessories can really add up so you want to be in your budget. My dress is an amazing, chantilly beautiful lace with very intricate detail and layers of flowy satin underneath. The work Gina and her mother had to do on my dress was some serious labor. Everytime I went in for my fitting and got to try on my dress, I felt like a beautiful princess. And to watch the transformation into a size 4 to a dress that fits your body perfectly was truely amazing seamstress work. I feel like in the long run, you want your dream dress and for it to fit PERFECTLY and that's what I got from Dina's Bridal. Forget all the other stuff. That's what every bride should want in the end. Pros: Price, Location Cons: Metered parking more

Do not waste your time! So bad, the good reviews are all fake 1/14/2008

This place is so bad! I was lured in by someones review mentioning that is was better then the boutique on Montana(Montclair) and in Costa Mesa(Mon Amie) and let me just say, that Dina's bridal and the other two are not even in the same league. If the 99 cent only store had a bridal department, that is what Dina's is. I had an appointment and an elderly hispanic lady( who barely spoke english- working on a dress) was the only one at the store. It was like a scene out of a movie. An eager, anxious bride goes dress shopping, only to be greeted by a barefooted, barely english speaking seamstress. When I asked about designer dresses, she laughed at me. Told me to go to Montana store or Neimans. It was such a waste of time. Seriously, if your budget for a dress is 200-400.00, then you can find something here. It's like a David's bridal but way way cheesier and no service what so ever, you are scrapping at the botton here. Why would anyone want to spend money here? I ended up buying my dress at MOn Amie, I got pampered in a huge dressing room, with a consultant all to myself. She brought in all the dresses I picked out in the showroom and from bridal magazines. I got treated like a princess. And you know what, they did that at each of my visits regardless if I was buying. The dressing room at Mon Amie was the size of the showroom at Dina's. I think it important to buy from small business owners, but Dina's made it impossible for me to even look. There are no name here. Everything is basically a cheap knock off. And No! it is not coutoure! It's not custom! it's cheap labor and shotty work. It's so ugly! And when I asked ithey could order a dress I found in a magazine, they said no because they do can not sell that label. So even certain manufacturers will not work with them. The rave reviews are a fake. Those people only gave one review and it was Dina's. Both mentioned ""Montana"" and Costa Mesa. If you are looking for a dress, DO NOT VENTURE IN. Pros: Can park on the side, meter parking Cons: Run down, no service, not worth a any money!!!! Rude owner or workers more

The best selection ,quality , service and prices in ALL of L.A. 11/30/2007

I've had my debutant gown , wedding dress and my made of honors dress all bought or made for me at Dina's Bridal . After going to the bridal shop on Montana , then the one on wilshire in bev.hills I was both relived and surprised at how they cost remarkably less for the same dreses but also actually listened to me and waited on me hand and foot. They were helpful and kind as well as truely gifted seamstress' . I would literally discribe Dina as an artist . My mother because of her illnesses has one shoulder that is higher than the other and they did such an amazing job her shoulders looked perfectly even. There selection of veils and head pieces were great as well as there assortment of shoes. Even when my flower girl threw an all out tantrum they were polite , gentle and kind . I honestly could not recomend them enough. Pros: Price, Selection and Service Cons: meter parking out side more

Nasty service!!! 10/3/2007

I have never done this before but I just have to say don't shop at Dina's Bridals. First of all, the shop is extremely dirty from the carpets to the walls to the dressing room. The girl who helped me seemed to be annoyed that she actually had to work and was more concerned with putting the dresses back on the hangers then assisting me. She was unprofessional looking and had a horrible attitude! Plus they cut off the designers tags from the gowns, and I was told you cannot find out the designer unless you purchase the dress. I have to say they had some nice dresses, but I refuse to spend money at a store where they have no respect for their customers. After I tried on about 5 dresses, the girl went into the back of the store as if she was just done helping me, totally uninterested in my business. I will be taking my business elsewhere. more

The worst shopping experience I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!! 9/10/2007

highly NOT recommended! Horrible customer service. I had an appointment and she didn't come out to help me for another 15 minutes. The first thing she did was snap at me and accuse me of throwing dresses on the ground! I was appalled and obviously walked out. Why would I spend hundreds of dollars at a place that would treat potential clients like ??? So completely rude and unprofessional!!! more

Rudeness loses customers 9/1/2007

I had a pair of white satin shoes I needed dyed pink for my wedding, so I called Dina's Bridal shop. The man who answered the phone told me they did, indeed, dye shoes, so I stopped by on Saturday to have mine dyed. When I walked in, a woman was fitting a bride into a gown. I asked her about having my shoes dyed and before she could say anything, a loud woman's voice on the other side of a partition yelled, ""I don't dye shoes if they weren't bought here!"" Pros: I hear they have nice selection, but I was too uncomfortable to look around Cons: Rude woman bit my head off for no reason more

Inexpensive dresses 8/13/2007

I found the dress of my dreams at a Montana Avenue boutique, with the Montana Avenue boutique price. Dina was able to order my dress for $400 less and the cost of alterations was $100 less. You won't find the bells and whistles, but you do get a great price for what you want. It's a family run business, so getting to know her Mom and Dad in the shop makes the experience special! Pros: Price Cons: Atmosphere more

Don't go anywhere else for your wedding dresses!!! 5/22/2007

I got my bridesmaid dresses from here and Gina really worked with my bridesmaids and all of their drama! My bridesmaid ordered her dress to small, planning to loose weight, and it didn't fit. Gina's, the lifesaver, switched out her sample with the smaller dress! Heart attack prevented. They allowed me to design my own flower girl dresses from scratch and the dresses came out beautifully and they were fairly inexpensive. I wish I would have gotten my wedding dress from here but I got suckered into an expensive Costa Mesa shop when we first started. Yes as the first review said sometimes she gets a little busy, I know because when my flower girls and ring bearer ran a muck in her shop it was nuts! But she does her best to help and some times customers just need to be patient, it won't hurt you, because Dina's Bridal will always do above and beyond to make you happy with the results. Don't be dumb! This is the best kept secret in Southern California, don't say no one told you. Pros: Small Shop, Great Selection, Quality Designers (Not Knock Offs), Dress Designing, Affordable, I could go on . . . Cons: Metered Parking more

Terrible Customer Service 2/15/2007

I would not recommend this place to anyone who may need any help while shopping for a wedding dress. We had an appt at this store. There was only one person working in the store. She was helping someone else when we walked in. The store opened at 10am and our appt was at 10am. It clearly read on the door that you had to have an appt. So, it seems they double-booked our 10am spot. She did not greet us, nor did she ask if we needed any help. Once the customer she was workin with left, she still did not acknowlede us. We had a few questions for her, and each one she answered with a curt ""yes"" or ""no"". She never helped us beyond that. While the dress prices were fair, we found comparable prices elsewhere that offered excellent customer service. Cons: Terrible Customer Service, Appearance of store more

Only bridal shop NOT overpriced in LA 6/19/2006

After looking all over LA for a veil and shoes I happened upon Dina's. I found shoes and a nice veil for under $100. Both were of better quality than I had seen in a lot of boutique shops elsewhere. They have a wide selection of veils and shoes and dresses. Don't spend $160 for a pair of shoes you will only wear once. Spend $35 at Dina's and I swear you won't be able to tell a difference. The store in general looks a little shabby. But the merchandise is not. Pros: Price, Location, Service Cons: Easy to miss while driving. more
