Registering late, we were pleased to find accommodations over the July 4 holiday, choosing Ski View Condo #205. The advertisement promised a king size bed, a queen, and a sleeper sofa, along with Ethernet Internet access. On arrival, we found a bonus: The sleeper sofa appears to be the original La-Z-Boy sleeper sofa, dating back 40 years or so. So we found a piece of history, along with our accommodations.
Seniority, sadly, does not enhance furniture as it does senators and union workers. In 2013, this sofa may be OK for a small child, at least for a small child for whom you care little, but "inadequate" is a term of charity for this aging unit, for all its missing support springs and popping mattress coils. The Internet connectivity is a myth, too, and the queen size bed is just a double. For four people in two beds, the condo can work, but bless you if you can endure it with five.
We reported the problems in our first day and left a day early to get a decent bed before driving home. The rental agency, Diamond Mountain Rentals, gave a pro-rated discount for the one day, but was otherwise parsimonious and unresponsive.
Next visit, we will find a rental earlier. And not from Diamond Mountain.
