Great service, pricing, and efficiency! 12/13/2013

We had a great cruise planned through our great travel agent, Cindy Knutson. She met all of our requirements for arranging for half of family traveling from CA and the other half from TN. We adored and her patience with us through the whole process. Would highly recommend both Cindy & Deep Blue! more

Pura Vida!! 6/6/2013

Pura Vida, a Costa Rican phrase that basically equates to "All Good". The whole experience with Deep Blue Adventures and Cindy Knutson was Pura Vida and more! I wanted to put together a great Honeymoon package for me and my new bride. I worked closely with Deep Blue and Cindy Knutson and found a great All-Inclusive Resort in the Westin Playa Conchal. We upgraded to the Royal Beach Club experience and it was well worth it! Two weeks before the wedding, I tore my Achilles Tendon. I had not purchased Trip insurance and the activities I had planned were bought and paid for. Cindy was BEYOND helpful in helping me trade out of the activities I had planned (SCUBA and Ziplining) for activities that more suited/accommodated for my injury (Private Riverboat tour). The experience was still awesome and now I have a reason to go back and would in a heartbeat! I would certainly recommend Cindy and Deep Blue Adventures to anyone and will look to use their services in the future! more

Terri went out of her way to reroute me when my flight got delayed 5/9/2013

I am traveling without the rest of my group, and for some foolish reason without my phone. My flight got so delayed that I would not get to Manila in time to depart with the rest of my group. Terri rebooked for me even though I had used FF miles for the airline part, and not booked that with her. She has made this so much easier for me, really saved me and took the frustration away. more

Deep Blue Adventures & Atlantis Puerto Gallera 3/7/2013

What a trip! The only complaint I have was that it was over too fast. The service was incredible, we never had to lift a finger. Everything was done for us, from setting up our gear to filling water glasses, nothing was overlooked. Dive guides were very knowledgeable and seemed to know where every critter lived. Small, fast boats and close-by dive sites are the norm. The food was spectacular. No one had a bad meal (the Tuna Chowder was unreal!) and the wait staff went out of their way to insure everyone had all they needed. Rooms were spotless as well as common areas. All staff were more than willing to answer any question or lend a hand whenever the need arose. The thing that really got our attention (I heard others in my group say this as well) is that everyone called us by our names. Very classy indeed! There you have it. I would go back in a heartbeat. Everything went way beyond my expectations! Special thanks to Terri at Deep Blue for taking care of everything! She's top shelf! more

Excellant trip. Greatest Deal on Curacao. 3/4/2013

We had an excellent time. The resort lived up to its billing. It was a little confusing at first, but we figured it out. It was a very relaxing time and the diving was nice and calm just how I remembered. The fish are even bigger here or at this time of the year than I remember from my other trips. Very very healthy. Thanks again for the great deal. I will be recommending your services. Have great week and I hope to book another trip soon. more

Terri is the best!!! 12/11/2012

We used Terri's services to set up a dive trip with a bunch of ohana from Island Divers Hawaii. We are now al dispersed across the country, but Terri was able to get all of us set up at the Sabor Cozumel, with our dives, and all we had to do was pay her and show up at the Sabor!! This is perfect, easy, and a convenient one-stop-shop for searching and booking dive vacations! We will use Terri again later in 2013 (if we are all still here!!! LOL!!!). Mahalo nui loa Terri!! You are the best!! more

Little Cayman 11/2/2012

I have worked with Terri at Deep Blue for many years and continue to get A+ service. I had travelers needing last second help in securing new flights while traveling to Little Cayman and Terri was right there and they all were able to arrive without missing a day! I recommended her and Deep Blue to everyone all the time. more

Belize 10/3/2012

This was my first trip with Deep Blue Adventures. Terri did an outstanding job of putting together a combination diving/fishing trip to Belize. Avadon divers is one of the best dive operations that I have ever encountered, from both a service and safety standpoint. The independent fishing guide was very knowledgable of the local waters and was very focused on making sure my fishing was successful. All travel arrangements were professionally handled and went very smoothly. more

Terrific diving trio to Indonesia 9/11/2012

Terri is wonderful - she is extremely knowledgable and responsive. I highly recommend Deep Blue Adventures for anyone booking an overseas diving trip! Adam more

Yet another great dive trip courtesy of Terri at Deep Blue Adventures! 9/7/2012

This is the third trip that Terri has conjured for me, and it was wonderful. Again, she held the hand of this solo diver/traveler and steered me through foreign airports with map-like facts and insider travel tips. The only other thing she could have done is ... pay for the trip ... how about THAT next time, Terri?! I shared the Deep Blue Adventure site and Terri's (hallowed) name with divers I met along the way. I'll be baaaaack...! more

Excellent service, totally resourceful, easy to contact, kind and helpful 7/10/2012

We worked with Cheryl at Deep Blue Adventures and had an excellent experience booking our trip to Belize. At first my husband and I weren't sure where to travel to this summer, so Cheryl helped generate some ideas and priced them all for us which made it easy for us to see what where we could go and what we could afford. That was extremely helpful. And from that point forward the service couldn't have been more thorough, prompt and pleasant. We have worked with Deep Blue Adventures in the past to book our dive trips and we have always had nothing but good things to report. From start to finish, they are the best! more

Belize 6/11/2012

Recently my husband and I did our first live-a-board in Belize. Terri gave us a ton of helpful information, what to expect as she had done the same trip in the past. Having an agent with first hand knowledge about a destination was wonderful. more

Super fast, friendly and great to work with 5/11/2012

A dive club friend highly recommended Deep Blue for booking dive vacations. I've never worked with a travel agent before, so I was a bit apprehensive and not sure how it all worked. Cheryl was great: she recommended a range of places and offered lots of choices within my budget and was always very responsive. We had a great time on our vacation, and I'll definitely be contacting Cheryl again to book the next one. more

Belize Whale Shark Adventure 5/5/2012

Terri Huber assisted myself and my wife on planning and booking a 12 day trip to Belize in April 2012. Our two goals were to have an experience in the interior jungle and then move to Placencia on the south coast timed to coincide with the full moon and Whale Shark migration. She did a great job at being responsive to lots of questions we had (this was our first trip to Central America) and apart from the international flights, made bookings for our in country transportation, accommodations and dive boat (Avadon Divers...superb!). Everything went off fantastically, no surprises, and even the whale sharks appeared for a thrilling end to the trip. Thanks for a great trip Terri!!! more

Northern Michigan Dive Center - Cozumel 2012 4/26/2012

The trip began (for me) from Flints Bishop International. Not being a frequent flier, I was excited to go through the process and rather pleased with the efficiency and ease of the mode of travel, despite all of the horror stories I had heard. The connecting flight from Atlanta, GA was more of the same. The busiest airport in the world was a sight to see in and of itself, yet again I was amazed by the simplicity in maneuvering through it. I sat glued to my window watching Floridas west coast unfold below me until a sharp right bank revealed the Keys, Cuba, and an Easterly course. We descended through spotty white clouds dotting the endless expanse of iridescent blue ocean, towards a lush green island that was larger than anticipated. The radiant heat on the tarmac was the smack-to-the-face affirmation that this was real. The biting winds and snow of 6 hours ago were nothing but a memory! We opted to rent a car as opposed to a taxi service to reach our accommodations. The islands main road basically covers the Southern half of the perimeter, then divides across the midsection to rejoin itself forming a 42 mile loop. Our resort was 8 Kilometers down the road (whatever that means!) It was a wonder we got there at all, for all my sideways gaping and taking in the air of the place. Narrow roads filled to capacity with scooters, bicycles, cars and trucks. The main form of traffic control seemed to be nothing but speed bumps every few hundred yards, otherwise the accepted methodology appeared to be anything goes. On this and several subsequent trips through town and around the island, we felt remarkably safe and at ease. The great majority of the island is thick with tourists, but even on the back roads away from the cruise ship district and downtown, I would have been very comfortable stopping to ask for directions, (even though I opted to press on and find the airport myself!) We arrived, checked in, and hauled our bags to the room. Modest amenities, a private balcony with a couple chairs and table overlooking some palms and a spectacular view of the ocean; large enough to lay out dive gear to dry every morning. Comfortable beds, typical bathroom, table and chairs, TV (that was not once turned on) the usual affair. There was plenty of room for our bags to expand to loose dive gear, clothes and various other bits spread out widely. Opening the door to the East, and balcony West allowed a marvelous breeze and sunrise to wash through the room every day. Heading back downstairs to the central area of the resort, the pool/bar/restaurant, we sat down for the first free buffet that basically never ended all week. The food was good, varying day to day enough to keep it interesting. It was pretty reliable to see four sections; fruits/salads, meats/soups/main entrees, breads/sides, and deserts. Each was elegantly arranged and delectable. The staff were never in the way, despite being ever present. I was impressed at their efficacy and commented that they must be trained to hear the clink of a fork on a finished plate or the slurp of a straw reaching the bottom of a drink, for they never failed to appear from the ether to clear the table and provide refreshment, with a smile and Mexican charm. There were tennis courts, volleyball, ping pong and pool tables all free to patrons of the facility. The next day began our diving adventures. A selection of the resorts four comfortable dive boats would motor up to the wharf every morning while crews loaded both tanks and our own gear; setting it up even, so that it was ready and waiting for us when we boarded. Popular vote chose the dive sites, which were all drift dives and most commonly wall dives. An average dive went as follows; we were told to suit up upon arrival at the drop off site, after a briefing and the command of vamonos! the 8 or 10 divers filed off the back along with two divemaster/guides. We would then descend to the top of the reef at an average 40 feet (of crystal clear 79 degree water, mind you) and from thence over the wall to a max depth of 60 or 80 feet. The current kept us whistling along the reef as an inexplicable myriad of colorful alien life forms; plant, animal, (and perhaps for the strangeness of them, a third, yet-unlabeled distinction!) Every dive yielded something new and exciting to see. Sting rays, eels, sharks, turtles, lobsters, fish of every size, shape, and color. The abundance of critters is beyond description. The divemasters were obviously well experienced and accommodating. Rattling something against their tank to call for attention; either an air check, rounding up a diver trying to desert the group, or most frequently pointing out photo-ops and impressive marine life (such that this diver would never have found otherwise) After 30 minutes bottom time for those with dive computers (or a half hour for those without a dive guide joke) we would ascend to the top of the reef for the remainder, essentially making a multi-level dive. Average dive time was just shy of an hour, including a 3 minute stop at 15 or 20 feet. Upon surfacing, the dive boat would back up to you; boarding was never an issue for all the help offered. More often than not, by the time you shook the water off your head and sat down, your tank had been changed and ready for the second dive. And so it went for 6 days and 12 boat dives. We returned most days around 1 pm, there was plenty of room to dry our gear on racks after using their nice facilities for rinsing everything off and showering ourselves. Lunch was always the very next step, supplemented by one or a few of their well-mixed drinks, usually under the welcomed formidable sun on the beach or by the pool, letting time tick by even though it felt like it was standing still in Utopian serenity. We lucked out on choosing the time of the visit as it was busy enough to keep most things open and happening, but there was all the elbow room a person needed, as well as lower rates. The weather was, in a word, perfect. Mid to high 70s every day, all day. Two 10 minute spats of rain were worth enduring for the rinse and the beautiful rainbows that followed. The endless opportunities for various entertainment on the island were ever present, yet there was scarcely any need, nor desire to leave the resort. The term all-inclusive seems to sum it up well. Nevertheless, we did make a few ventures out to see the other side of the island, the Mayan ruins, the cruise ship and tourist district, as well as down town Cozumel. All were well worth it, nary a minute of regret, just being there made every choice the right choice! It should be mentioned here that non-diving spouses, friends, and patrons alike are welcomed as well (at a substantial discount). This year we had one non-diving spouse along, he and his wife both were thrilled and are ready to sign up for next year. Though talking with guests, friends, and other traveling divers, and now experiencing it first hand, I have become convinced that this particular trip is definitely the best bang-for-buck. I have no complaints about the resort, the staff, or the diving, and I am ready to start booking and recruiting for next year! My personal and sincere appreciation to Cheryl Patterson of Deep Blue Adventures for a flawless maiden entry to dive travel. more

a nice trip 4/26/2012

i just returned from a trip to the turks and caicos. cheryl helped me with the hotel and the dive shops. she was quite attentive and very helpful in making sure i was comfortable with all the arrangements. the property she recommeneded, royal west indies, was great and we enjoyed the room. as i was going to be diving solo, she helped me a lot by calling the various dive shops and then finally helping me decided i wanted a private dive guide. everything went off without a hitch. my reservations for diving were there and so was my private dive guide. we would definately book our next dive vacation with deep blue adventures. they were great. more

Great Recommendation 4/11/2012

Terri steered us in the right direction. Just got back from a dive trip in the Galapagos. This was our first live aboard experience. Terri highly recommended the Glapagos Sky. It was terrific. Every crew member chipped in to take care of the guests getting in for a dive and exiting from a dive. Lots of pampering and individual attention. We had a great time and saw even more than we had hoped. more

Rock on Terri & Cheryl 1/14/2012

Our 3 week trip to Atlantis resorts, Philippines was the 4th vacation Deep Blue Adventures had arranged for us. Hubby & I have very different needs as far as vacation amenities go. He wants to dive as much as possible & I want a spa, pool and some top side excursions. Deep Blue Adventures have met and exceeded all our expectations on each dive vacation. The personal touch was exceptional, [even down to choosing the locations of the rooms in each resort to accomodate my slight disability]. Both Atlantis resorts were run like well oiled machines. From smiling Tess handling the transfers to each and every member of staff. They could not do enough for us. Rock on Terri & Cheryl! Can't wait to see you at Our World Underwater in Chicago next month to start planning our next trip. more

Terri and Deep Blue Adventures are the best! 10/26/2011

I have worked with Terri for several years to plan customized dive trips for dive groups. She's always on target with her recommendations and her service. Deep Blue Adventures' slogan, "Travel Above and Below, Service Above and Beyond" really describes them well. I just returned from taking a group of divers to Fiji that Terri set up for us. It was fantastic. Terri recommended Matava Eco Resort, and our group loved it. The diving is awesome. We did four manta dives and saw mantas each time. The resort is right on the Great Astrolabe Reef and has wonderful marine life, both big (mantas, sharks) and small (pipe fish, nudibranchs, shrimp, twin spot lion fish) and everything in between (anemone fish, clown triggers, turtles). I could go on and on. The divemasters, Te and Wyse, as well as the other guys on the boat (Lai and Joe, the dive manager) staff are great, experienced, good leaders, point out lots of stuff, but don't hover over experienced divers. They made us hot tea, coffee, and of course water to go along with cookies between dives. They are fun and funny too! The resort staff at Matava are just as wonderful as the dive staff. They really try to make sure that you are having a good experience. The food at the resort is wonderful. George and Maggie are service all the way, and lots of fun. We had some flight problems with Pacific Sun when they had to cancel flights for mechanical problems. Both Terri and Maggie (from Matava) stayed on top of it, communicating with Pacific Sun and keeping me in the loop. We had four others in our group traveling separately and meeting us, departing from a different city, and Terri and Maggie made sure they were taken care of as well and kept me informed of their status. Terri is our preferred, designated travel agent for our local dive shop. Terri's an avid diver herself and knows what divers like. Work with Terri. You'll be glad you did. more

Travel above and below - Service above and beyond 5/27/2011

Deep Blue Adventures could not have a better business slogan. Terri and Cheryl are truely "above and beyond". We've gone to Bonaire, Brac, Belize and in 2011 Fiji with them and each time has been a breeze from keeping an eye out for hurricanes to keeping us up to date on flight changes. Always ready to answer questions and help in any way they can. No small wonder we're about to book again with them to the Philippines. You can't go wrong with Deep Blue. Keep up the great work, ladies. more
