Ive been dealing with milentz self storage for about three years now. In November the manager of their Dayton office passed away and that's pretty much where my problems with them began. When the manager passed away I (and im sure some other people too) wasn't notified of that office closing. I had been instructed to send my payments to that location and from there they would have been tracked in the computer. However, what happened is my payments were not forwarded and my account lapsed into arrears. Penalties on top of penalties were charged to my account. Usually i would get a statement letting my know the general starus of the account. Not knowing the Dayton office was closed, i assumed everything was okay. In the end i now owe them about 300 dollars and have to stop payment on about 400 dollars worth of unclaimed checks sent by my bank. I tried to explain the situation all the while not denying i was in default but trying to pay them off. In return for trying to work this out i got an arrogant lecture about managing my finances, and had to sit through some bragging about her listing my name in the community paper for auctioned goods. I think the situation could have been handled better. The manager at the now closed Dayton office did loads for this company's image. If i had done business with the Liberty office direct, Im certain that my tenure wouldn't have made 3 years. I think patrons of this business should have been sent notification of the Dayton office's closing. I also don't think it's asking too much to send a monthly notice of account status. (after all it cant cost much more than that fancy computer program they are using to nickel and dime customers for being late.) I will never do business nor recommend with the milentz name regardless of product or service.
