Dawn Barnes Karate Kids Encnio 5/15/2010

My 4 year old loves Karate class at Dawn Barnes. he attends the encino and sherman oaks location sometimes. The sensei's really focus on the kids trying their best and showning good respect. We use the skills they are learning at home and with friends and family. He really looks forward to going to his classes there. Pros: positive messages, structure Cons: sometimes class sizes can get too big for little kids more

Develop Great Life Skills 5/10/2010

My Child has been going to Dawn Barnes Karate Kids in Encino for a number of years and I have to say it has been a great experience. He has gained confidence and has develped some great life skills that he will carry with him through the rest of his life. \r \r He has built a great relationship and has such respect for his sensei and the rest of the Encino staff. What a great company 2/22/2010

These days it is important to teach kids to be aware without scaring them of strangers. This program has helped my little girl feel strong, and unafraid, though she knows how to avoid potential fights or ""problem people."" The teachers are educated and kind, yet clear, about showing kids the value of rules, coping strategies, and respecting the rights of others as well as themselves. \r \r I love the consistency and individual differences between senseis and locations. It is a great help in bolstering my daughter's self confidence. She also gets regular postive reinforcement for being kind to us at home, well worth the cost! karate with heart 2/4/2009

What a great place, a friend told me about the school and how much her kids liked it, so I decided to take my 6 year old here. He really likes the classes so far, and he seems more focused now that he has been going. I hope he sticks with it. more

My friend recommended this place to me, and I love it. They have such great classes for kids, I send both my children here. They get great excercise and have made some good friends here as well. Pros: classes more

Great Classes!! 1/14/2009

I take my 8 yr old daughter here and she loves it! The classes have tought her so much, she is actually better behaved now. I would highly recommend sending your kids here. The teachers are wonderful, and the classes are the perfect size. Pros: Great Teachers more
