Highly Recommended 7/11/2011

After reading several reviews on the David Rothstein Band and viewing the videos on his website, we just had to see them in person. We knew instantly upon seeing them at a wedding that we wanted them for our big day. From day one, David was so helpful and accommodating. He made everything easy, which is so nice when you have to deal with all of the things that go into planning a wedding. One thing we really loved about working with David was all of the personal touches he put into our wedding day. He really got to know us and he was able to incorporate our special stories and hobbies into our wedding day. Our wedding reception was absolutely fantastic! Cocktail hour and dinner was enhanced by the wonderful jazz trio and the band began to rock upon finishing dinner! From there on, it was an instant party! Everyone was on the dance floor! The young, the old and the in between all enjoyed the amazing energy of the band! Everyone just danced the night away! In days and weeks following the wedding, family and friends absolutely raved about the David Rothstein Band and everyone kept telling us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to because of the band. We HIGHLY recommend the David Rothstein Band! It was worth every penny! You will not be disappointed! more

Best Wedding Band! 7/6/2011

David and his band were absolutely wonderful! From the first time we met with him, David made everything so easy and enjoyable. He takes care of everything and takes the stress off of you! Our wedding reception was at Germania Place in Chicago (also a wonderful venue!). We had friends and family from all over the U.S. with many of them from Chicago, New York, and New Orleans and ALL of them love to dance and have fun. David and his band made that possible! The music was fantastic, constant, and so very entertaining throughout the entire night! I am SO happy that we chose them for our band. Music was #1 priority 6/28/2011

David and his team were wonderful from day one. They were reliable, responsive, and willing to assist in any manner. Our wedding was in Milwaukee, WI and the band had to travel. They were on time and ready to go with a lot of energy! We continue to receive compliments from our guests about the band and how much fun they had. Once the guests were invited to the dance floor, it stayed packed all evening. The music was phenomenal, the sound quality was fantastic, and we were thoroughly happy with our decision of booking DRM. David has many resources online that help with the picking of songs for the ceremony and rehearsal, it was great to have it all in one place and to not have to scour the internet for information. more

Amazing Energy - Nothing but Compliments from our Guests 6/24/2011

Working with David Rothstein Music was amazing - As David aforementioned, the guests will always remember the band at a wedding reception - this was the certainly the case with our wedding on June 11th. The energy and excitement was so high that guests whom are known for not dancing were even on the dance floor! \r \r Also - my wife and I were extremely pleased how the Band learned a number of songs we wanted them to play to make our wedding even more unique and special for us. The band even played a song a good friend requested on the Fly!\r \r Working with David prior to the wedding was nothing but a joy! He was always willing to listen, and very prompt with getting back to us - I am a little 'old school' when it comes to meetings - wanting to sit down face to face- and David took a lot of time out of his busy schedule whenever we requested.\r \r Lastly, I will just comment on how smoothly everything went at the wedding and how professional the band was. We had them travel out of state and it was such a relief that we did not have to worry about making sure everything went to plan as far as travel arrangements. David ensured a stress free wedding day and that is exactly what we got. \r \r If you are fortunate enough to be able to book this band - do not think twice!\r more

Best Decision Ever - AMAZING experience!!!!! 6/15/2011

My fiance and I knew that one of our biggest priorities for our wedding was getting the best possible band - a great band makes for a fantastic and fund wedding. We did research into Chicago area bands and David was by far the most helpful and responsive from the start. Our timing was great because soon after we spoke with him we were able to see the band play live at a wedding event - they were awesome and David was so great! After we hired them, David continued to be super helpful and supportive throughout the planning process (unlike some vendors who disappear after they get your deposit!) David's process for getting to know you, whats important to you for your wedding and what kind of music you want is impeccable. So after a great experience leading up to the wedding, our expectations were HIGH - very high! And DRM exceeded them tenfold (which I did not think was possible). First, David does an excellent job emceeing the night - especially in the beginning a lot is going on - announcements, first dance, toasts, etc. But the best part was that our dance floor was packed the entire night - young and old! A lot of people's favorite moment was when the trumpet section came on to the dance floor with everyone! Everyone had a blast and a million people told me that they've never had so much fun at a wedding or that it was the best wedding they've ever been to. And I know these people and they were not just being nice. I attribute 95% of this to David and his band. They are not cheap, but worth every penny - you get what you pay for!!! If I had to do it again all over on a budget, I would hire David, and skimp on everything else. Nothing else is as important as the atmosphere, energy and the fun at your wedding. Had the dance floor packed! 6/6/2011

DRM kept the dance floor jam packed all night with hit after hit. Each age group was out there from the first note until the last. Each song flowed into the next which kept the energy high all night. We loved seeing David himself out there on the dance floor! Everyone knows that the band plays a CRITICAL part in any memorable wedding reception. David Rothstein was an absolute home run. more

Best Wedding Band! 5/16/2011

To my daughter and son-in-law, one of the most important elements to a great wedding is a great band, and they chose David Rothstein after reading about and hearing some wonderful reviews. Everyone loved the band -- the dance floor was full all night, and young and old danced the night away. David is enthusiastic and fair in his pricing. His musicians are not just kids; they are professional and mature and talented, and were so appreciated by this crowd. I am happy to fully endorse this band - we had the 10 piece - and it was one of the best investments to a great wedding party! We heard our guests rave about the music, and even people who usually do not dance at weddings could not resist and were having a ball! The bride and groom were delighted. It was really fun! Money well spent! more

GREAT BAND! 4/3/2011

We chose David for our reception music only and it was a very wise investment, indeed! From the very beginning, David was very professional while giving off a ""we're good friends from way back"" vibe. He was very easy to talk to and do business with. Being a music junkie myself, I personally believed the band was the most important part of my wedding, so I was VERY picky about picking a band. The song selection was endless and their energy while performing was lively and addictive. David worked with me to be sure everything was exactly how I wanted it and even learned some songs that were special to my husband and I. We got married in January and my guests are still talking about their performance and saying how it will be a wedding they will ""remember for a lifetime"". They helped me every step of the way and made the whole planning process a lot let stressful. David was sure to include important family and cultural traditions as well as family members during their performance. I can not say enough good things about them! You won't regret your decision if you choose DRM, I promise! more

It truly is ""A Powerful Band with a HUGE Heart"" 1/15/2011

Early in the planning stages of my son Jason's Wedding, he called to tell me to check out David Rothstein Music, Inc. (drsmusic). Jason and his fiancee had just met with David Rothstein, and my son was impressed because he said David was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and personable. They not only liked David immediately, but David Rothstein Music, Inc. has an extensive list for song choices. Jason continued to be impressed with succeeding meetings and phone calls he had with David. Jason and Lindsey chose to have David Rothstein Music, Inc. not only for music during their dinner and reception but also for their music at the church ceremony. They truly made good decisions, as there were rave reviews about the music in church and also at their reception. Their guests especially enjoyed the music that the enthusiastic 10-piece orchestra played, and no one had to encourage them to get out on the dance floor. David does his homework well to get to know what the bridal couple likes in the way of music, and ensures that things go smoothly throughout -- from introductions of the bridal party and parents, to any speeches that might take place, David just does a totally professional, superb job. The band even went the extra mile to learn a Jason Mraz song that Jason and Lindsey chose for their special dance. The only sad part was that their four-hour reception went much too quickly. This Mom wasn't ready for the celebration or the wonderful music to end!\r more

What you read in the DRB reviews is true! David Rothstein really delivered on his promise: we had the best wedding ever! Our dance floor was packed the entire time the band was playing, and our guests had a wonderfully memorable evening. The best part of the night was when the lead singer and the horns came down from the stage and danced with our friends and family. It was a special and unique touch. \r \r From the very first phone call with David, you feel as if he guarantees all will have a good time, and he does not disappoint. I’ll always be grateful to him for including my 82 year grandmother in such a special way. During our first meeting and through our “get to know you” questionnaire, David picked up on the importance of the relationship my husband I share with my grandma, and he made sure to not only recognize our relationship during the wedding, but he also gave her a gift that she will always treasure. \r more

David Rothstein is the consummate professional. From the moment you speak with him it becomes clear that his only motivation is to insure that you have an incredible experience with David Rothstein Music. Unbelievably friendly and with unparalleled accomodation, I’m proud to say that hiring David Rothstein Music was the best decision we made for our wedding. That’s no easy feat in a wedding with Michelin star food, award winning florists and one of the most beautiful venues in Chicago. David Rothstein had everyone young and old boogying on the dancefloor and there was not a dull moment. As an MC, David was poised, eloquent and compelling. Of course, we consider all that to be par for the course in a great wedding band. What really makes David Rothstein Music the truly superior choice is all the personal touches. They learned a large number of our favorite songs, created an impressive Michael Jackson dance interlude (as I am a Jackson fanatic), catered to our love as foodies and most importantly learned and arranged a special song on short notice so that I could sing it to my beautiful new bride. The band that made our day! 12/30/2010

Picking a wedding band is a daunting task:\r \r So much execution risk...How do I know I am making the right choice?...Will they be any good? Do they understand my vision of the experience I am trying to create?\r \r From the start, David Rothstein put all of our concerns to rest. The process he went through in working with us before our wedding was highly professional, illustrative of what he and team have to offer, and was tailored to what we were looking for.\r \r And the reception it self was a huge success! David played the role of a charming emcee and kept the party rocking. We opted for a NY / E Coast style dancing in between courses, and the band could not have pulled off the logistics better!\r \r David went above and beyond what might be expected of a band, learning our first dance, ""To Make You Feel My Love""; ""The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi"" so that I could sing with my fraternity brothers to my bride; ""Hail to the Chief,"" upon introducing the Father of the Bride; and yes, even a polka medly for the extended Germanic family members! \r \r The energy level remained high the entire night and the dancefloor was packed from the first introduction. My groomsman said that the extended version (with audience participation) of ""Shout"" was the best he's ever heard and Lou singing Sinatra will be something no one will forget.\r \r We got married in June this year and during Christmas parties and gatherings this December, family and friends were still talking about David Rothstein!\r more

Chicago's Best Wedding Band! 12/14/2010

David Rothstein's Band is amazing!! We just got married on November 27 at The Drake Hotel and walking into the reception with the band playing is something I will remember forever! Their energy and enthusiasm just kept going all night long. We had people on the dance floor until almost 2:00AM! David also personalized our event so well by having the band play my husband and my college fight song! We added the Sinatra Vocalist for a portion of the evening, and he was so talented! I am so happy with David Rothstein and will continue to recommend him to all my friends and family. more

Best Wedding Band Ever!! 11/22/2010

DRM was an awesome band! Everyone was complimenting us on our choice, and people are still telling our parents that it was the best wedding they've been too in ages. And, that was all the band. They were so energetic and kept great dance music coming. The dance floor was packed all night. Also, David did an awesome job of mcing and organizing the night. It would have been so stressful if we had to take care of the flow of things. David makes sure that your wedding is perfect and goes smoothly. If you want to have a wedding that people remember with enthusiasm, DRM is your band! The only thing that was kind of off and why I didn't give 5 stars is the band's photographer was intrusive. We had the absolute best photographer and the band had one that showed up and was kind of in our faces. We were not expecting that. In fact, I had to ask my photog who was the guy trying to arrange guests and getting in front of my face. It was weird. And, the one other small complaint we had from a few guests was that, although the band was awesome, the guests felt David was forcing them onto the dance floor with a little too much intensity. But, David knows weddings, and I think he was just making sure that our guests had a great time. I highly recomend using DRM!!! more

Best Wedding Band in Chicago! 11/1/2010

DRM was one of the best choices we made during our wedding planning. David was incredibly enthusiastic and excited about our wedding music from start to finish, and took time to really get to know us and what we wanted from the band. Our actual wedding reception was amazing - the dance floor was packed all night and even people who wouldn't usually dance were on the dance floor. If you are going to splurge on one thing for your reception, make it the live band and go with David Rothstein - you will NOT find a better band in Chicago! more

Classiest, Best Wedding Entertainment in Chicago! 10/26/2010

My husband and I knew one and one thing only when we got engaged and started thinking about the actual wedding day...LIVE BAND! There was no doubt in our mind that this is where we wanted to splurge, and it paid off! The David Rothstein Orchestra was the very first vendor we booked, before even the reception venue! From my first conversation with David, I was excited! He was enthusiastic and made everything so easy...which is important when you have other things to worry about, like white or yellow wedding cake, poly cotton or upgraded linens...you get what I'm saying (especially if you're in the wedding planning process now!). The music situation was covered! David and his team made the whole process seamless and left us feeling completely comfortable and excited for our big day. They were available any time I had a question or wanted to meet with them. They were interested in getting to know us as a couple and what we wanted our day to feel like, so they could customize our wedding and make it unique to us. David even took to handling a set-up dispute with our venue, just so I didn't have to add another thing to my ""to do"" list. They did NOT disappoint the day of our event. In fact they exceeded all our expectations! The moment they invited all our guests out to dance, the dance floor was PACKED from then on. As one of our guests said, ""You know it's a good party when the dance floor is still packed at midnight when they are turning on the lights!"" No one left! They even surprised me and my husband by learning three songs we had requested, but they had never played. They could not have been more entertaining, more interactive, more talented, or more classy! They impressed us all. I would recommend them to ANYONE planning a wedding in the Chicago area, or even beyond (they travel!). You have plenty to do to make your big day special...this is one decision yo u can check off your list. more

Best Wedding Band EVER 10/21/2010

When we started to plan our wedding, we decided to make choosing a band our number one priority. We contacted a number of bands in the Chicago area, viewed demos, and met with band leaders. Ultimately, we decided to hire David Rothstein Band, and that was the absolute best decision we could have made. From the moment the band started, all the way to the last song, the band got the entire crowd off their chairs, energized, and dancing like crazy. The band had a really diverse playlist, learned additional songs for us, and did an amazing job of choosing songs that kept the dance floor packed all night long. We've already had two guests book the David Rothstein Band for their upcoming weddings and have had countless people ask, ""where in the world did you find that band!"" Best band in Chicago! 10/20/2010

David and his band were absolutely amazing! They made our wedding a total blast, and our guests have not stopped telling us what a treat it was to dance the night away to the music of a live band. David's ability to energize and involve the crowd was just amazing...he even got my 81-year-old grandmother out on the dance floor!\r \r David was easy to work with, promptly responded to questions, and took care of every little detail. Amazing band - could not have asked for more!!! 10/7/2010

My husband and I were thrilled with our experience with David. From the very beginning he was so easy to talk to and I told him several times during the whole process that he was the easiest part and person to work with while planning our wedding! I meant it - weddings can get pretty crazy even if you try for them not to be and David was consistently a person we could count on to be organized and two steps ahead at all times. Fast forward to the wedding - the floor was packed all night!!! I was a little concerned because it was at Galleria Marchetti, which is my favorite venue in Chicago, but it has an outside area and with the beautiful night we had I was worried that people would mingle outside instead of on the dance floor. This was not the case - the dance floor was packed all night long!!! Our biggest request to David was to make sure that all generations would be on the dance floor so we wanted music that would be fun for everyone and he delivered! The whole band did a fabulous job, they were having fun and it showed! The whole experience was perfect and if you get the chance to work with him, you won't be disappointed!! We are still getting messages from guests telling us how much fun they had and how they were on the dance floor all night long!! David, if you ever read this thanks again for everything! more

Great Guy Amazing Band!!! 10/6/2010

David and his amazing team played our wedding in Feb. 09. Our guests had the greatest time and my wife and I could not have been happier. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone had sore feet the next day. They are fun and engaging and David is the consummate professional as well as just a great guy. After hiring his band we learned he lived two doors down from my sister and her family and she knew him because he had helped her carry groceries from the car a couple times! His band is incredible and he was by far the best vendor we worked without throughout the wedding process. We can not reccommend David and his team enough. Your search should stop at the top! David Rothstein Music was the perfect band for our wedding and Im sure he will be for yours too! more
