Questionable 8/21/2014

My daughter was bit 3 times in her year at the baby house. Long story short, her teachers were very sweet, but while the director's still plan on working with parents and behavioral issues, many other little ones are in harm's way and learning wrong actions. more

Loving Providers 6/14/2008

I absolutely love this daycare. My son has been here since he was 15 months old and he loves his teachers. They are fair and treat each child as their own. The teachers have been here for many years, which is unheard of in many daycares. The indoor and outdoor play areas are safe and age-appropriate. Their pricing is very fair, considering what they offer. Their programs aren't as structured as Kindercare (or other similar facilities) but are more structured than many in-home providers. Great Daycare 12/3/2007

My oldest son who is now 7 has been going to David Douglas since he was 16 months old and my youngest who is now 5 has gone there his whole life. When I was looking at daycares for my oldest and was pregnant with my youngest, I toured several and what won me over with this one was not only the affordability but the organization of it. They have the children separated by age and in small groups so there isn't over crowding. The children get plenty of attention and education in a fun way so that they enjoy it. Both my children far exceed their peers in school now and I give credit to David Douglas for that. They mix daycare with preschool and make it fun with their field trips for the potty-trained children and arts and crafts for all ages. In the summer they even provide swimming for school age children at the high school with a swimming instructor, as well as track and field, tennis and bowling. For all holidays, the children make items for the parents that are dated and great for keepsakes. We have ornaments for each year and the boys look forward to going there. They have great structure and the employees there are very knowledgable and friendly. I recommend this daycare to anyone I can and have nothing but positive things to say. Our whole family loves this place. more

A Decent Day Care 12/23/2005

Before I quit my job to be a stay at home mom, this was the place I took my child. As a day care center I think it is one of the better ones. Most of their core teachers have been there for many years. The director herself as been there (I believe) for over 20 years. The center is run out of two older homes, so the younger baby set is separated from the preschool and school age groups. The baby house is very home friendly and the children are placed into smaller rooms. They also have their own outside play area separate from the older kids. My only serious complaint about the facility is their potty training policy. They expect kids to be potty trained by the age of 2 1/2 (when they move to the preschool). Granted they do work with you to help accomplish this goal, I think it is naive to expect all children to achieve this milestone by that age. more
