A for hair color change 11/28/2011

After my long-term boyfriend broke up with me, I knew a trip to Daquila for a new hair cut and color was in order! I started out a dirty blondish-brown, and I wanted a color change that was noticeable, but still natural. And Daquila Hair Color Studio delivered! My golden blonde color now is the perfect hue for my skin tone, and I have received countless compliments about it. Their stylists really do an excellent job with the balayage technique...and everyone was friendly and fun! The salon has a really relaxing, chill atmosphere, too. I will definitely be returning for my color touch up! East Liberty is an up-and-coming community with lots of cool places to check out. Before or after your hair cut, check out Conflict Kitchen (a little take-out place that serves food from countries that the US is in conflict with) or some of the great stores at the Village of East Side! more

BEST COLOR IN THE WORLD! 11/28/2011

LITERALLY, best color in the world - I currently live in London and I actually fly back home to Pittsburgh to have my hair done by Deborah (it's that good and it lasts that long, I only have to get it done every 4-5 months). natural color and great cuts! 11/23/2011

I've been to Daquila a few times now and cannot say enough good things. Danielle worked wonders with my color, turning my streaky highlights into a natural looking, soft blonde. She worked magic with the scissors, blending my previously choppy layers into a cut that not only laid perfectly but was easy to style myself. The salon is always clean and welcoming and I have never been kept waiting for my appointment. more

Great service, relaxing space! 4/9/2011

I've been getting my hair cut at Daquila for just over a year by Rachel and I was so sad to hear that she had recently relocated and left the salon. My experience there was always fabulous - Rachel always listened to what I had to say but was not afraid to tell me what she thought would work best for my hair. The space is wonderful - open, airy and extremely relaxing. I almost fall asleep during the wonderful shampoos! My next appointment is with Deborah, the owner of the salon. I've seen her fabulous work while I've been there and am looking forward to my first haircut with her! more

Finally found someone in Pittsburgh 4/7/2011

Recently moved here from Las Vegas and went through about 6 different stylists from various places trying to find someone who could compare to my wonderful girl back in Nevada. Tried this salon on a recommendation and I'm happy to say I won't be going any place else! Thanks Heather! more

Extremely Conscientious 1/31/2011

I am living in Pittsburgh for the next several months and needed to find a stylist. After online researching and reading the rave reviews, I made an appointment at Daquila. I was not disappointed! They met all my expectations and more. The shop is calm and welcoming with a very professional, happy staff. They offer their clients tea, coffee and hot chocolate. I had a thorough consultation before Deborah cut (styled), colored and highlighted my fine, straight hair. My hair has never looked so good! The color and highlights are very natural looking, and the cut is perfect for my lifestyle and face shape. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new haircut and color/highlights and have received numerous compliments! Deborah is an extremely conscientious stylist and colorist! more

Deborah is amazing . . . . 1/31/2011

I've never had great luck with hair stylists--candidly, it was greatly due to the fact that I wasn't born with great hair. Deborah Daquila has somehow managed to find a cut for me that's stylish and works well with my fine, wispy hair. And what a colorist she is!! My hair is in the best shape it's ever been in, and the color is fantastic. I am convinced that she is the best technician in the 'Burgh!! more

I was changing my hair style, and I was concerned about getting it right. Nicole was very detail oriented. My haircut was quick and enjoyable, and the result was exactly what I was looking for. Great place, very relaxing atmosphere, and people who work there are extremely and sincerely friendly with superb skills and knowledge. Highly recommend. more

I was very impressed with Daquila's cutting and dying. I went from long hair to a really short haircut and Rachel did a great job on it. I also got my hair colored there and it looked so natural. And i especially love the aveda products they use. more

Very Happy 11/19/2010

After being away from living in Pittsburgh, I recently moved back and needed someone to color and style my hair. Since I can be particular, and I have fine hair a friend suggested Daquila. From the very first experience there, I have been very happy with the way Rachel styles and colors my hair. Not a complaint here. As long as I am able I will continue to use their services. more

Finally, my search is over... 10/11/2010

After moving back to the area and trying several places , I was referred here by a co-worker of my sister's. Even though I had never even seen this person's hair, I gave it a shot because I had not been able to find a person to whom I wanted to return. I am glad I gave it a chance because I think that Deborah cuts my hair, which is naturally straight and blah, in a way that plays to its advantages so it is not a struggle to style and she gives it some glamour with color. I have even referred my mother here who has thick, wavy, graying hair and who has had a hard time finding someone to tame her hair and she is just as pleased. The salon itself is laid back and relaxing. more

A Bright Happy Salon 9/16/2010

I haven't been to a salon in years that made me feel comfortable. I don't like a lot of fake ""oou-ing & ahh-ing"" over everything ""they"" do. The stylistsare experience and I trust them to make me look the best possible. They are punctual and will do everything to make the experience the best for you - they treat everyone as an individual - learning - YOU! The salon is clean and bright and the coffee is delicious. What a treat to go there. more

Daquila = Best Salon in Pittsburgh 9/2/2010

Daquila is the only salon is Pittsburgh where I would get my hair highlighted and cut. I love how natural the color of my blonde hair looks with the balayage technique. I always leave the salon with exactly what I wanted for my hair. The staff is also super friendly and accommodating. I have had Danielle and Rachel cut and/or highlight my hair, and both have done awesome jobs! As soon as I leave Daquila I always receive compliments from others on my hair. The last time I was there Danielle also recommended a great leave-in conditioner that I love and now use every day! I have referred multiple friends to this salon and will continue to do so! more

Top-quality salon without the pretension! 8/31/2010

I just stopped in for my first time at Daquila a few days ago, and it was a friendly experience from beginning to end. The entire atmosphere of the salon is chic but low-key -- not snooty snoots here! One of the stylists even had her dogs in the studio -- so cute! more
