We are so glad we went to visit this place! 4/30/2011

I am so excited to have found this place. This family cares so much about the dogs and not so much about a big advertising campaign. The dogs get to play and play and there is no extra charge for anything they need to be very happy. The extended hours are great and they are there Sundays and Holidays just like any other day. I can come and go with a much better feeling now and know that my dog is happyngood! more

wow! simply stated my dog is happy! 3/6/2011

Seriously, I have visited all these places that advertise everywhere. Some of them need so many tests and papers it is like getting a passport, others won't even let you back behind the desk to see around. My dog doesn't need storytime and too much ga ga, just a safe place to run and play in a safe way with others. Have you seen where the dogs have to poop at some of these places. Lazy Dog Ranch has a real yard with real trees, real grass and real sunshine. The safe footing is key for really getting active too. I pick him up late at night, drop him off early morning and when I want to take him there on Sundays that is great too because they are really there 7 days a week. Seriously folks, pay up for the marketing and deal with the schedules of those other places and then when your dog wants to be a real dog go see these folks. Don't whine when they don't pay that much attention to you because the reason they aren't is that they are paying that much attention to your dog. No frills just care, wow. Can't beat it. My dog gets excited before we even get there. more

In response 12/7/2008

As the owner of this facility I would like to respond to a review. Please see my complete response under The Lazy Dog Ranch listing. I regret the feelings of this client, her dog was compulsive about rolling in aste and even was a feces eater, we gave her advice and free product to help her with this. He was also an arm biter, a clawer and a loose canon in the playyard. We wanted to work with him as she said she had been to other places and was not satisfied, they live closeby and the dogs really needed the playtime, as I understood. I apologize for any misunderstandings about diets but directions were being closely followed regardless of opinions and discussions. Honesty is always the best policy but it isn't always the most welcome one. Please visit us and see for yourself, we are always welcoming and ready to talk. Pros: individual attention and honesty more

Good Intentions but HORRIBLE EXECUTION 11/11/2008

Pros: Animal friendly people, definitely have dogs best interest at heart, convenient drop off for people with early schedules (biggest pro)\r CON: \r 1. our dog has come home with feces all over him 3 times (never happened at other places)\r 2. they use their concern for animals in ways that are not ethical... i.e. not doing what the owners ask for (like feeding at dog certain amounts) because they don't feel like it is right. they actually pulled a dog out of a kennel, told me it was a vet's dog, then proceeded to tell me they fed the dog less than the owner requests because they feel the dog is too fat)... \r 3. this morning they smacked our golden retriever in the head because he was over exuberant in his greeting... he is very responsive to verbal correction and very well trained so it was completely over the top.\r 4. they told us our golden was fat (he is within breed standards at 72 lbs, we exercise him daily, and our vet said he was perfect) and told us our rescue dog was the perfect weight (she was starved in a garage before she was rescued and you can see her ribs through her very dense and thick fur) even though our vet told us she would need to gain about 10lbs. this makes problem #2 even a bigger problem!!!\r \r overall, good intentions, but terrible ethics and execution of their ideals. Pros: convenient pick up and drop off, well intentioned Cons: not a clean environment, are not ethical more

They Know Dogs! 4/25/2008

The people at this ""salon"" are friendly and helpful. Nothing fancy because it's all about the dogs! It's the only place in town that really knows how to clip a Welshie! Love the flexibility on pick ups too. Pros: Easy to get to more

Best family service, extended hours, and great safety record. 2/1/2008

I love this place. Can't say it enough. The service, the family style honesty and personal attention to detail. The extended hours, the self service check in and check out, the ability to pay or run a tab. The country location, the dogs love it here!!. Pros: honest family run concern for the well being of the animals more

HORRIBLE service, I would NEVER recommend it 1/8/2007

I took my dog here to be groomed, and I picked her up late for an appointment (the groomer was 1/2 hour late). When I got my dog home I realized that she was MORE filthy than when I first took her in! I tried to resolve this with the groomer, and then the owner and they both resorted to NAME CALLING! The owner herself told me if I thought I could do a better job, then I should just ""DO IT MYSELF""!! They wouldn't resolve the issue, and even landed up calling me a ""freak"" for ""complaining"" (this was the owner).\r \r I've now spoken with others that have had the same experiences, or even worse ones. I even filed a formal complaint with the state and city . My way of life is usually live and let live, but this business is a disgrace. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND DAPPER DOG SALON TO ANYONE! Cons: Customer service, management, overall service more
