We have taken our cars to Dan's for over 10 years. We keep returning because the shop does good work and their prices are fair. They don't try to talk you into work you may not need. Instead, they listen and advise you so you can make an intelligent decision. And they stand by their work, making it right if they don't quite get it the first time (which is rare). I recently started having bad transmission grinds when I was shifting, I took it in to Dan's because a friend had recently received great service from them. They quickly assessed the problem and quoted me a great price. They had it back to me the next day and I haven't had a single problem since. exceptional shop. more

We have a older Camry, and Dan's Auto Center took care of it well. They gave it a thorough inspection, gave us reasonable estimates for the repairs with no pressure. The work was done very quickly. We are very satisfied and will be back for sure. more

My husband and I have found the owners and staff at Dan's to be friendly , helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. Even for small stuff like oil changes, wiper blades or light bulbs etc. No matter the situation, we end up feeling very happy about the great service we always recieve. The Toyota has had some major engine repirs which went off without a hitch. Jennifer had us bring it back 500 miles after the repair just to check things over, everything was ok and to top it off she gave us a free oil change card just for coming in and getting the repair inspected. Our Subaru has also had its share of maintenance and one brake repair, it runs like a champ. overall we are very satisfied and recommend the crew at Dan's. Would not go anywhere else! Skeptic won over by Dan's Auto Center's great service. It started with an oil change. Then I had a few bigger jobs done by these folks. After several interactions, I can say that these people are highly trained, very honest, and competitively priced. If you're from the area, put them on your ""A"" list and rest easy. I can't tell you how much stress I saved by just dealing with them first. more

Do not go here, Chris and Jennifer will try and over charge and sell you unnecessary repairs. If you question them about it they will become extremely rude and aggressive. Do yourself a favor and check their ratings on other sites, they are most likely the worst place in Portland to go to. more

In short: DO NOT USE DAN""S AUTO CENTER. I had been a customer of Dan's for many years. However, a change in management/ownership has recently occurred. The new management is not to be trusted. I recently had my car serviced, and using another mechanic to check their work I found that faulty used parts had been used and when confronted about this, the male front desk staff became threatening and abusive and were unwilling to replace the faulty used part they replaced. They've lost my business for good. Dan's mission statement says they aim for ""friendly atmosphere"" but this too is a lie: they were abusive and threatening. more
