Fight For Your Rights! 12/4/2009

For starters, I just want to say that througout my entire two year tenure at Delphi, I really got along with Vince (guy everyone keeps referring to as ""the old man"") Whenever I saw him, we would chat, and he was always nice to us. We paid our rent on time (even though his secretary once lost our check and they tried to charge us a late fee.) Then, when we moved out, they just wouldn't give us our security deposit back. I called Kevin and Vince at least 2 dozen times, and they kept giving me the run-a-round. Two and a half months go by, still no return check. Eventually I got really frustrated and told them that if they didn't give it back to me within a week I was going to sue them. See, in MA, landlords have 30 days to return any owed money, otherwise the tenant is owed three times damages. Three times! Says so right in MA law. I told them that, they didn't return my money, so I sued them. I know nothing about the law other than what basic, entry level college courses teach you and it was easy; no lawyer needed, no complicated legal jargon spoken, and everyone at court was very friendly and helpful. They sent some jerk lawyer to court, the magistrate wanted no part of her, and they awarded us triple damages. About three weeks later we were given a check for three times what the initially owed us. So people! If Delphi tries to screw around with you, read up on your rights, and sue their pants off! Yay America! Pros: Let's you have dogs Cons: Customer Service more

Worst is nothing 10/1/2009

I moved out after living there for 2 years. The lease was over and university as well. Once we had a flood on the apartment after a pipe issue on the upper unit. Our apartment was a mess, a lot of things stopped working, the walls and ceiling ended up really bad and they just refunded a router that became useless. This thing happened sometime during 2008. We never got our walls and ceiling repainted or at least maintained. The old man in the management was rude to some people (he is not there anymore), and of course there was always problems. Electricity would go off every since. The trash truck is the most noisy thing ever! If your apartment faces the back alley, good luck or get used to it! (twice a week, around 4:30 am). The Red Sox world is just part of being there, so I wouldn't count it as a cons. A dog lived during the second year on the upper unit. We could feel even when the dog was having a dream, so imagine how was it when the dog ran from side to side. I just received the check for the refund of our deposit. They took the last month out, they also took out a legal/professional fee and so the check is almost a joke. Now I would have to deal with that without being in Boston and some how I believe that they will get in trouble since I have the contract right here and there are things that just will never match. I hope this review helps. Pros: Berklee, Northeastern, Boston Cons, NEC, Green Line T Cons: Many many more

Management not fit for customer service 10/23/2007

One of the two employees (the older man) in the on-site office is not cordial towards tenants on a regular basis. He certainly does not know the positive attitude that is necessary for customer service. It is one thing to be unhappily working at a job that one doesn't like, it's another to have the attitude effect the professionalism. The quarterly newsletters and/or updates are sent out to all the tenants without being proofread. Words associated with annoyance and disdain are used throughout the newsletters rather than using a direct professional attitude of rules and regulations. Pros: close walk to Berklee, Boston Conservatory, other shopping centers, T station, Rite Aid pharmacy Cons: Troublesome to receive packages sent by mail, fairly noisy because close to Fenway Park more
