This is by far my favorite drug store.... but CVS isn't just a drug store- I don't get my prescriptions filled here. This is the first flyer I look at from the Sunday paper.
CVS has a program called Extracare Rewards. This is a great program to get into. You simply sign up at your local CVS store or online through cvs.com. WHy sign up??
Most every purchase you make at CVS counts towards the program when you give them your card to swipe. You earn 2% back from every purchase with some exclusions:
*Excludes alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards, money orders, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, prescriptions, and special order Home Health Care items, including footwear.
**Excludes pharmacy items paid for in whole or in part by state and/or federal health care programs and prescriptions purchased in-store in NJ and NY, and controlled substances in Louisiana. All online prescription purchases qualify to earn Extra Bucks.
When do you get your 2% back and how??
Every Qtr (3 months) your Extracare rewards print on the bottom of your receipt. ie. $3.00 off coupon-- You cut if off and use it at your next purchase for the dollar amount off.
You also get different coupons most every time you shop- $5 off $20, or certain $ off certain product.
My favorite reason to use the Extracare card is each week they run specials (advertised in the weekly flyer).. This week for instance in NY is:
Pantene on sale 3 for $10--- Buy $10 worth of Pantene and Earn $3 ECB (extra care bonus)...
ECB's print out 2 days after the purchase (almost exactly 48 hours so you must wait the 48 hours).
I save tons of $$ and get lots of free stuff at CVS.
If the sale is a good one I will go on sunday then back on tues. purchase a pack of gum- remember the coupons print out on the bottom of a receipt- rip off my ECB coupons and buy it again--- Each time earning more ECB's and the purchases go towards the 2% qtr spending...
