I visited this establishment because I had some pants that the hem fell out of and I've seen their sign advertising hems for $5. Trying to be thrifty I decided to give them a try,...

DO NOT GO HERE...OWNER VERY RUDE!! 4/21/2009

I believe the owner of this place has a serious mental issue...he is VERY rude to customers, I don't know how he manages stay in business. I hope he reads these reviews and gets a clue! Do not go to this establishment if you want to be treated with respect! The place is dirty and smells like a musty closet! Two thumbs down!! Pros: Cheap Cons: Extremely bad customer service! more

HORRIBLE Service and Workmanship 7/15/2008

I dropped off pants to be hemmed on two seperate days. The owner/employee (Harry) was EXTREMELY rude. (I should have know better as this place is dark, dirty and smells of something like urine/animals.) I picked up the first pair of pants and could not adequately see the job done as it is so dark in there. When I got home I was apalled. The stitching was wavy, going up and down and differing 1/2 inch in places. The size of the stitches also varied greatly. One leg of the pants was shorter than the other. Long strings were left hanging and when I pulled one off the entire hem fell out! I immediately went back but the door was locked even though they were supposed to be open for another hour. The next day I went back and asked Harry ( he is the only employee and is the owner) to correct the job. He threw my pants across the counter and said " if you don't like my work go somewhere else". He refused to fix his gross error. Luckily I was able to rescue the other pants that I had dropped off as he had not started to butcher them yet. DO NOT GO HERE! The place stinks, the man stinks and the workmanship is non existant. more

Please, DON"T -- AVOID IT IF YOU DON"T WANT TO CRY AFTERWARDS 4/18/2008

I dropped a pair of jeans to get fixed, the old man was so rude, but I thought maybe I was misunderstood. Not only the jeans took two weeks from the day after I dropped them, but when I picked them up the old man made me cry!! It was 4:58pm on Friday and place was closed, usually they close at 5pm, no big deal I though about coming the next morning. Suddenly, the old man opens the door of his business and I thought, 'wow', and walked in. When I got in, he said with a very very rough tone of voice, "I close at 5pm". Then I said, "I have no issues to come tomorrow morning", and he snapped back saying "why did I open the damn door"? Then I thought, 'things are getting bad in here'. So holding my tears, I asked for the pair of jeans, but I couldn't find the receipt. Then he snapped back again, "oh now you don't have the receipt". Then I found the receipt, and he threw the pair of jeans at me, and asked "do they look good?" I was literally crying at that time because I was scared. I then nodded a yes to him. I was so innocent that I tried to explain why I was late, as an apology of some sort, and he interrupted me saying, "I've been working since 6am too", in a very rude tone of voice. Then I left, without saying a word, and cried the whole way home. When I got home, I looked at the jeans, and the repair job looked horrible, as if a 5-year old child did it. He didn't even cut the thread strings, and the hole is opening-up again. Conclusion, I paid $10 to get hurt and stressed out. Last thing, NO RECEIPT-- IS HE WORKING UNDER THE TABLE? more

Extremely rude service! 2/18/2008

I visited this establishment because I had some pants that the hem fell out of and I've seen their sign advertising hems for $5. Trying to be thrifty I decided to give them a try, and because I also like supporting local businesses. When I dropped off my pants, there were pants thrown everywhere, just didn't look clean at all. The older gentleman that was working was short, rude, and I was tempted to take my pants back from him. A day later, I even thought about calling to say never mind and that I would pick the pants up and take them somewhere else. Upon picking them up, I was greeted by rude old man again, and was given my now lint covered pants on a hanger and told to give him $5. I felt like I didn't even want to touch my pants without having them washed again, because I could see lint and fuzz and who knows what else all over them. The work looks like it will hold and is a little uneven, but I guess what do you expect for five bucks. Needless to say, I will never return to this establishment again! I didn't even get a receipt which I'm sure means that they are taking advantage of "fudging the books". Don't recommend this place to anyone! Pros: Cheap Cons: Rude and unprofessional more
