Cupcakery

I couldn’t have even dreamt of better cupcakes. I work right around the corner from the Lake Mead location and have never been in before. I went to lunch with a coworker and she insisted we get cupcakes for ‘desert’. I got the Mimi (Pumpkin Spice) cupcake. It had just a hint of spice and a delicious flavor all around! I wasn't going to write this review but after reading some of the others, I feel I must. I was one of the first to try the Cupcakery when they opened and I raved about them. Not I only rant. After about 6 months of being opened the quality dropped drastically. It has never recovered. I don?t know if it is freezing or if it is the mix. Alot of the top bakeries freeze their cakes for a short period; they stay fresher and are easer to decorate. Something has changed; sadly it shows in what they sell and how they sell. Some of the worse customer service I have ever experienced, in both locations! I miss the days of three partners. Maybe that is it, the quality left with them. My friend told me he wrote a review saying they freeze their cupcakes and later somebody (Obviously who works there or the owner) said it was untrue. IT IS TRUE! They freeze the cupcakes after they get baked and then sell them days laters. It is not right to do that and charge $3 per cupcake AND THEN LIE ABOUT IT! I do not own ANY business. I am not a competitor. Just somebody who wants what they pay for when they give $3 for a cupcake. I did give them 2 stars though. For frozen cupcakes made from a mix they are okay. (YES THAT's RIGHT>>> MIX!!! Check their dumpster anytime. You will see the empty bags of cake mix they use... Just another lie somebody is telling on here. I had a bad experience at the Henderson location, but I got over it and moved on with my life. However, my sister dragged me into the Lake Mead location and after that, I HAD TO WRITE AS REVIEW!!! We were treated so awful at the Lake Mead one. I was alone when I went to the Henderson one but now I had a witness to back up my original findings. First, the cupcakes are not good. That being said, I am giving this place 1 star because of the service. If you have a bad product, the least you could do is treat people kindly while they are there to buy your greasy cakes. I have a hearing problem which makes it hard for me to make the sounds of ""R"" and ""Y"" when I speak. The girl who waited on me laughed and leaned toward me when I made my order. She said ""OMG! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?"" with a giggle. My sister was really ticked off about that and we left. I just thought I would review BOTH locations because I have been to both and I was not happy with either one. The Henderson store because of dry cakes. The Lake Mead store because I was made to feel like a 2nd class citizen. Thank God we were the only ones in the store when I was so embarrassed. After both my bad experiences... Alright, so I finally had to chance to check out The Cupcakery after hearing so many good things about them. All I can say is PERFECTION! They were the best cupcakes I had ever eaten. I travel a lot and try to find the little bakeries around town just to try something different. Compared to Sprinkles and Magnolia's I feel The Cupcakery had the moistest, pretty and most diverse flavors. The retail staff was very helpful and patient and made sure everyone was accomidated. ....that the cupcakery has the best little cupcakes in vegas!!!!!!! they are awesome!!!!! My favorite is one of their newer ones....the maple nut goodie!!!! They have so much to choose from, i believe they said 21 different variations!!!!!! wow!! The store is so cute, very bright and colorful, much to my taste!!! i recently met the owner at the bridal show and she is the nicest person ever! I wouldnt even think about anyone else to do my wedding cupcakes!! thay even do cakes now!! There decorators are so talented!!! All these people with the negative comments about them, dont listen to it!!! They obviously dont know what they are talking about....they must be over wieght moms with an alcohol problem so bitter that they have to put others down..os atleast try to!!!! I have to say that I am one of The Cupcakery""s biggest fans. Every cupcake my family and I buy are always great. The red velvet is our favorite and I would recommend anyone to try it. The chocolate passion is our second favorite, but we have never had a bad one. Everyone is always very nice to us. We live close by so we are always in there, but we have been to the other location as well and the same kudos to them. As to the person who complained they were frozen, I don't personally know if they do that but if they did it wouldn't be unusual. Having been in the business I can say that bakeries often bake, freeze, then decorate allon the same day. So get your facts straight. I thought there cupcakes were great that red velevt cake was the best. there staff was very patient with me while i picked out my cupcakes and asks about them all. they had a nice varity too 21 differnt favors wow. The inside was so cute they display some of the wonderful things they can do. I signed up for there email list and they let me know when new cup cakes come out and send me pictures of there hoilday cupcakes. chivlary isn't deceased they offered to help me out when I had my hands full. They carried all my cupcakes to the car for me, they also gave me suggestions on how to package the little beauties so they would stay fresh. What a joke this place is... They freeze the cupcakes and then thaw them out when they need to sell them... that is gross... and not worth $2.75 in my opinion. LIES LIES LIES!!! I have even asked them if they were fresh daily... and they said ""YES we are down here every morning frosting them""... Riiiight... frosting... not baking. A little birdy told me how they do things here. and she said they bake them... then freeze them... sometimes for days... then thaw them... then frost them and sell them... This place is a joke! ooh-big disappointment! Visited second week of June, mid afternoon. Bought four cupcakes with 7 year old granddaughter, even she thought they were dry, and somewhat tasteless! Her review---TOO MUCH FROSTING! They were cold inside; when I asked counter girl for coffee, I was told, ""Uh, we don't have any today---she mumbled something about the coffeemaker being broken. I then asked for milk; guess what? They had no milk, either! We settled for sharing an overpriced bottle of water for 3.50! Counter person acted like she was doing us a favor waiting on us----will not be back, and will not recommend to others---\r \r Would recommend that people make their own cupcakes for WAY LESS THAN 12.00 FOR 4 CUPCAKES! For a place that specializes in cupcakes and only cupcakes I was expecting so much more. I think I've made moister, tastier cupcakes from a box mix at home. We got 1/2 dozen to try a little of everything, I also expected more variety. The cupcakes are overpriced also for the same size cupcake you make at home, I expected big, shareable cupcakes for the price.
