Please don't support this business that spews toxic smoke and particulates directly over my child's elementary school. The school's playground and garden are less than a block from this dead-body furnace. The kids, especially, don't deserve such an assault on their growing bodies. more

I certainly hope that Cremation and Burial Care of Oregon, also known as Gable Funeral and Cremation Service, is NOT the new standard in funeral homes. They are situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood, half a block away from an elementary school's playground and the neighborhood community garden. Black smoke can been seen emitting from their chimney, blowing directly towards the playground. They run their buffers before 7 am at decibels louder than what the city noise ordinance permits. \r Don't be fooled by their name; this is neither a local nor family-owned business. This is owned by the Stonemor group, an out of state conglomerate who simply bought the name and fine reputation of the previous owners. The current owners have no interest in our community. Please choose another business for your loved one. more

While the funeral home industry is a necessary part of any civilized country's business landscape, the cremation market has only increased in previous decades. The fact this business was too cheap to relocate its crematorium to a place where children are not subject to having human remains dumped on them daily while they play in their school playground is beyond me. Shame on you Cremation and Burial Care of Oregon! more

Cremation and Burial Care of Oregon is a public nuisance in the Montavilla neighborhood.\r \r They operate an industrial crematory in a residential area which runs practically non-stop, during weekdays and weekends. It's loud, emits a grey smoke of human ashes, and a strange toxic smelling odor in the air.\r \r People who live in the neighborhood and surrounding areas are currently affected by this company's negligent business practices. There's a large community garden at Vestal school and many neighbors have backyard gardens in the area. Invisible ashes and by-products of the crematory are mostly likely landing on plants. The neighborhood never gets relief from the constant loud noise, human ashes, and nauseous smell produced by Cremation and Burial Care of Oregon.\r \r The Montavilla neighborhood has the right to clean air. We highly encourage you or your family not to support this business. more

    Since opening in 1917, Cremation & Burial Care of Oregon has been owned by various groups; however, the funeral home became family owned once again in September 2004, when it was purchased by brothers, Alexander M. & Benjamin M. Farnstrom. In September 2011, we offered new funeral service packages to adapt to the changes in consumer needs.
    We are the only full service funeral home in Oregon associated with Veterans Funeral Care and trained to serve the veteran and military community. Cremation & Burial Care of Oregon would be honored to be selected to serve you and your family when the need arises for funeral services.
