Crazy Catering

Where do I even begin? Hans and Karen from Crazy Dutchman catering were spectacular! I just got married and had them cater my wedding at Boone Hall. From the start they were incredibly friendly and helpful. As a long distance bride, their assistance really helped calmed my nerves and made the whole wedding run smoothly. I hired them without being able to do a tasting, since I was not local. But, their rave reviews online helped me feel very comfortable doing that. Our menu included: for apps- mozzarella/ tomato stacks, swedish meatballs and spinach/ artichoke dip; dinner: chicken skewers, BBQ pulled pork sliders, shrimp n grits, vidalia onion cole slaw, green beans with almonds, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, rolls w honey butter, mixed green salad. It was all AMAZING! all of my guests raved about the food and many got seconds. In addition to the delicious meal, we got a full bar from them. All of the their prices were sooooo reasonable- I talked to numerous caterers in town and Crazy Dutchman were MUCH better than other caterer. Both food and liquor were a fantastic value. Originally I was going to do the alcohol myself but it was great to just let them take care of it...one less thing for me to worry about. Lastly, they coordinated with synder rentals and helped me decide all of the rentals I needed for the wedding. As DIY bride, this was a HUGE help. Karen and I must have sent 50 emails back and forth, and in each and every one she was patient, incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with. Overall I give them 5 stars- ten if I could! We used Crazy Dutchmen for our wedding rehearsal dinner at the Sand Dunes Club on Sullivans Island. Hans was possibly the friendliest and easiest vendor we worked with. The food was also fabulous. We had an oyster roast along with bbq, potato salad, baked beans, sweet tea, and assorted desserts. It was so nice that everything was set up and cleaned up for us. We didn't have to do anything! I got so many compliments on the food and especially on the baked beans. And unlike a lot of other caterers, we were able to take the leftovers home with us! I would definitely recommend Crazy Dutchmen to anyone and we will definitely use them again for future events. more

We hired Hans and Karen for our wedding reception on Shem Creek, and we couldn't have been happier with the food and the service! After tasting a sample of what we had on the menu (whole roast pork, vidalia cole slaw, fresh tomato basil & mozzarella salad, shrimp & grits <---amazing, chicken kabobs, roast vegetables, fruit and veggies, crab cakes) we knew we'd found our caterer. The food is legitimately amazing, and we're still hearing rave reviews from our guests even weeks after the event. Their communication prior to the event was great, and we are just so appreciative of how hard they worked to make our reception such a success. You won't find better food and service anywhere, plus the prices they quoted us were very very reasonable. We will definitely hire them again soon! My husband and I had a vow renewal in early October. We hired CDC for the event. It was amazing! Hans & Karen are wonderful! They are punctual, super sweet, and very talented chefs. We had beautiful pulled pork & chicken BBQ and an awesome oyster roast along with corn, gorgeous vidalia onion cole slaw, mashed potatoes, amazing slow-cooked chili. They went above and beyond our expectations! Everything was perfect. The portions were huge! All of our friends and family were totally thrilled with the food and presentation. I hired Hans and the Crazy Dutchman Catering Company for our rehearsal dinner at Folly Beach and they were nothing less than a joy to work with. As I am sure most brides know, it seems like every step of working with vendors is a major hassle and a headache. Not the case with the Crazy Dutchman! Hans was incredibly friendly and easy to work with. Not only were his prices low compared to other companies, I felt like he really took the time to get a feel for our event and made great suggestions in the process. We had low country boil cooked on-site (some of the freshest and best I've had), bbq chicken that LITERALLY fell off the bone, some insanely great corn bread, and black beans and rice that every vegetarian (and even the non-vegetarians) in the place was raving about for the next couple days...actually, I am craving them right now.
