Crazy Alan's Swamp Shack

I have been to every restaurant in the Kemah area and I must say that the swamp shack is by far my favorite restaurant. I love their unique hamburgers and french fries. Where else can you get an alligator or crawfish burger? I Defiantly recommend the swamp shack if you are in the area. Even if you are not in the area it is worth the trip! more

If you are looking for some amazing CAJUIN FOOD or just an AWESOME BURGER then this is by far the place for you! It only took me one time to come here and try this place and i keep coming back. BEST GUMBO I EVER HAD. definitely one of the best restaurants around here!!! more

Just got back from a relaxing lunch at the swamp shack. I enjoyed the fried shrimp basket (today's special) and onion rings. Service was great and the view was perfect. I love to do lunch here. Going to bring my family here this weekend as my mother is coming into town and she loves Cajun food. more

I had the BBQ blue crabs last night and they were fantastic! Megan made sure I had all I could eat and kept my glass topped off. I love to come here and sit back and enjoy the view of the boardwalk and marina. Defiantly recommend. more

Just come here and relax and watch the boats and have a cold beer. The food is mediocre, but the view is great! more

You would think it wouldn't be hard to find good seafood on the water, but it is. This place was just another tourist trap, but it was a relaxing place to watch the boats and have a beer. more

I've been to The Swamp Shack 3 times and it was very good. First time I had the fried shrimp. They were very large fried golden brown and tasted great. I've had the Swamp Hog Burger (bacon) and just loved it. May friend had crawfish and she thought they were great. I also love the live music. This place is cool!!! The staff is always very friendly. more

have tried crawfish at a few different restaurants in the are, always with bad results. My new wife and I had been to Crazy Alan's twice before and found it to have fantastic jumbo, etouffee and even very big juicy burgers. Last time in, I decided to get the crawfish on a Sunday and I was more than pleasantly surprised. I asked for them to be extra spicy and they were great! I even took a photo on my phone of a few of them, because I had not seen crawfish this sized served before. I had at least 6 that were about 1/2 the size of a full sized lobster. All of mine were clean and the extra spice on top after cooking made the entire meal! I have not had a bad meal yet, and will recommend this place to all of my friends and family. more

We went there on a Sunday evening. I think we were the only ones there for the 1st 20 minutes of our visit. The waitress didn't seem like she wanted us there. She didn't even look us in the eye when she would talk to us. We ordered chicken and a burger. I didn't think you could mess up on chicken breast, but it was really dry and tasteless. Plus it was barely enough food to feed even a 5 year old. There was barely any rice and veggies. It looked like they gave us the leftovers from someone else's plate. The burger was ok-it didn't look like the meat was done, so we ended up eating only half of it. more

I'm not sure about the rest of their food, but if you are looking for crawfish - look away from the Swamp Shack. They are completely bland, half of them were dead before being boiled (so they tasted like rotten fish), and NONE of them were purged. Completely gross. more

The food was terrible....disgusting! Service was the worst! It is a dive and it isn't even a fun dive. The crowd was.....well , .."" Enter at your own Risk!!!"" The view is the only thing this place has going for it. more
