Very comfortable! 4/19/2011

We have not tried the hotel rooms but we stayed in cabin #2. Very comfortable! Private and clean hot tub which was a huge plus! I would go back! The massages were great and the staff was very pleasant! more

Peace and quiet 4/19/2011

My sister and I come to Cottonwood at least twice a year. I can't speak about the lodge rooms as we always stay in Cabin #3. It's the best cabin for 2 people, with two double beds. It has been refurnished and the appliances upgraded. We make our own breakfast and lunch and enjoy going into Buena for dinner. Behind the cabin is a private soaking pool overlooking the creek. We spend most of our time sitting out back enjoying the sound of the water. The main hot pools are comfortable and clean and you can float for hours. Floating at night, watching the stars is amazing. The main lodge has a great room with TV and lots of books. We've also had massages, and the therapists are wonderful! Be aware this is NOT a fancy hotel. As another reviewer said, it's kind of like an old hippie place, but I'm an old hippie and I fit right in. The peace and quiet, surrounding mountains and rushing water soothes away the city blues everytime. The only downside is I can't get up here every weekend! more

Beautiful and rustic 3/8/2011

Cottonwood Hot Springs was very beautiful and rustic. It is a developed inn with 7 different pools. Admission is $15 per adult and the people are very nice. There is no hiking in, but the surroundings are very zen. A nice place to spend an afternoon and meet some new people. Bathing suits are mandatory in the summer months, but it seems there is a more free hilly atmosphere during the winter months. Alcohol is strictly prohibited. They offer massages and palm readings, but make sure you call ahead to make an appointment for one of those. more

Highly recommended 2/10/2011

The location is ideal....its a remote 15 minutes into the mountains and very easy to miss. I spent my birthday here in 2007 while touring Colorado,Utah,Arizona,Nevada and California.I actually spent a month in Colorado and a weekend here and will definitely return when time allows. The cool thing about when I visited is that it was actually snowing after I had gotten into the hot springs. It was the most refreshing thing in the world.Your body is all nice and warm, but the snowflakes you can feel coming down on your face.It was wonderful.Ya'll can have your vacations in Cabo.I'll take this anyday. I was enjoying the water in one of the cooler pools [they have about 4 with different temperature settings] when two lovely ladies started to talk to me.My ex [who was in another pool] came into the pool I was in to 'fight them away' I guess, cos she gave them dirty looks and they ended up moving to the other side. She was always crazy like that, but thats another story for another time. Highly recommended. It was clean here.I didnt have any problems with things floating around the water like a previous reviewer. The only problem I did have was on the 2nd day.The water was way too hot that day. more

Highly recommend the place 2/7/2011

Absolutely loved it!!! Visited cottonwood for the first time today and it was a true delight! Staff was friendly and cordial. The facility was well maintained, not a hint of sulfer like other springs, and very kid friendly. We only spent a couple of hours but it was well worth it. At first I was bothered that they charged 10.00 per child 0-6 y/o but at the end of the day, we all had a relaxing time and my son had a blast. So it was well worth it. Next time I'm going to try the massages they offer. Highly recommend the place.. Enjoy more

So soothing 2/1/2011

Last week I ventured out to go to a hot springs, which I've never ever done before, and there are plenty in the area. But I found a treasure tucked away just a few miles from the cute little town of Buena Vista. I not only found a place to relax, but it was so soothing to my tired bones and muscles. I got a massage, and it was so healing. I also heard they were putting in a restaurant with a local lady from Leadville who has done this for years. The new coffee bar is an added plus. Thank you Cottonwood for having such a wonderful place to go. I will be back again, over and over and over! more

As nice as can be 1/28/2011

I have been here 3 times now. When ever I come up to Denver I actually take a back route so I can visit the Hot Springs. The staff is always friendly. They are knowledgable of the area and are always available with answers. Lilly did a massage and Brooke was as nice as can be. The little gift shop always has something I can give as a gift. and in the main room..they got the coolest stuff..singing bowls, piano, lounge area more

A world of self-indulgence 1/12/2011

We go to Cottonwood Hot Springs every year, and we love it every time. It is a retreat from the tension and stress of real life into a world of self-indulgence and relaxation. We spend all of our time there in the bed, in the private hot spring pool adjoining the cabin, and on the massage tables, each of which is a separate slice of heaven. If you do feel the need to be active, or even just upright, the location is perfect for white water rafting or any other mountain-based recreation. more
