Patient, Kind and understanding 9/20/2010

I grew up knowing Cosgrove's to be the local funeral home. I even remember Ed's father as a child. Our family used Cosgroves facility for years. I recently had to prepare arrangements for my mother and Ed did a wonderful job on all counts. There wasnt any pressure for add ons. He is not a salesman, he will not pressure you. He was very kind, understanding, patient and sympathetic towards me and my family members. \r I disagree with anyone who would say otherwise. Above all else the fact that Cosgrove's is still around speaks volumes and attests to their honest and reputable business practices. more

Best Funeral Home Ever!!!!!!!! 9/6/2010

I have used the Cosgrove Funeral Home for over 40 years, for every one in my family. Mr. Cogrove & his staff are wonderful.\r His prices are the best, he is the only Funeral Director that is not there for the money, but for his families. His chapel's are clean & well kept. He is also very helpful in making suggestions to make your funeral meet your needs, nothing is impossible for him to make you feel very comfortable in you decisions. He would never try to sell you something that you did not ask for. He has also helped other family members of mine who did not have any money to speak of to spend, he went out of his way to help them as much as possible so they could have a decent funeral for there love one. I don't know what my family would have done without him all these years. I would highly recommend them. more

Highly recommended 8/19/2009

I have to say that I was 100% satisfied with the services provided by this funeral chapel. I had the unfortunate task of preparing for my fathers passing as he was loosing his bout with cancer. I met with a few other directors and had the feeling that I was being told whatever it took to get our money. From the minute I walked into the place I felt at ease. Ed Cosgrove went over our options and set up a package that worked within our expectations and budget as well. After shopping a few other funeral homes, i decided to have my father viewed at Micheal V. Cosgrove & son. I was amazed at how good my father looked after he was prepped for viewing. He looked peaceful and happy just like we remembered him before he was overtaken by his disease. Throughout the viewing I received many compliments from friends and family in regards to the appearance and presentation of my father. Ed was extremely knowledgeable, caring, and attentive to our needs. He advised us throughout the whole process, f more

One of the best funeral homes I've ever visited 1/8/2009

Micheal V Cosgrove and Sons is the best funeral home I have ever visited, I think that during thee arrangements the director is trying not to make you feel worse about the family member or friend who has passed. So I'm sorry but I defiantly disagree with both of the reviews below. more

this place isn't the best, we checked this place out but luckily we found a place in queens.\r it's in flushing: called central funeral home, they dont usually do hispanic funeral's but after we told them we were ecuadorian they knew the rest! best of all, central funeral home makes you feel safe. and thats what we really needed. not cosgrove, they are well known but thats only because what they do business-wise. go to central funeral home if you ever need to, its the better choice more

Good Funeral Home - Not the Best 11/20/2005

Cosgrove funeral home has been in business for many years. It is well known, but the place is very old and the lightening is not good. Smith's Funeral Home in Windsor Terrace is better. The service is good at Cosgrove's as well, but the directors can make you sad, when you are trying to not be sad and get through the setups. Many add ons are able to be added because you can be very emotional. PROS: well known CONS: to many add on costs. more
