Corrugated Services Inc. is the largest independent producer of recycled containerboard in the United States, with $200 million in revenues and 280 employees. The business is divided into several divisions, all of which revolve around its core business which is the manufacture of linerboard, medium and coated papers used to make corrugated boxes. The business currently produces about 900 tons per day of linerboard and medium which is sold primarily to independent box manufacturers. The company started in 1974 and has a long-track record of success and sustained growth throughout its history.
In today's environmentally conscious times, it seems evident that more and more companies are encouraged to 'close the loop' by making products that are recyclable. However, Corrugated Services Inc, a Texas based linerboard and medium manufacturer has been making 100 percent recycled containerboard for nearly 30 years. In addition, the company owns scrap fiber processing plants and manufactures a repulpable coating as an alternative to wax-coated corrugated containers.
Corrugated Services is ?bullish? about the quality of recovered Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) used in its finished product. "We wanted to have more control over our scrap fiber, so in the 90's we created a separate division, Fiber Supply, for processing OCC," said Bill Baker, Corrugated Services' Vice President of Marketing. "Good quality fibers with a high percentage of US produced boxes and no newspaper, are essential in producing premium quality containerboard."
