Last evening about 9:00 we discovered that our Amana refrigerator/freezer was not holding temperature. This morning about 9:00 I called Central Appliance Repair and was told that a repairman would be out within the hour. He came at 9:45, a very amiable man. Diagnosed the problem and replaced a failed part within 30 minutes and he was gone at 10:15. $55 for the call, $50 for labor. That's the good news. I was charged $52.00 for the part but I found later I could have purchased it on the Internet for $6.50. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers and the serious profit margin on the part will have to be looked on as part of the emergency service. Would still recommend.
Pros: Responded rapidly, repair diagnosed and made quickly
Cons: Outrageous markup on the cost of replacement part
