The Community Energy Project is a great organization that has the most up to date information about heating and cooling your home in the most energy efficient and cost-effective way. Give them a call and are able to provide great information over the phone. Additionally, in some cases (I'm not sure what their requirements are) they will send someone out to look at your place and make suggestions as to the best set up to use for your property. Additionally, they often have discounts and financing programs available only through them! more

Spend Money Today to Save Money Tommorrow 1/5/2006

With the help of a local boyscout troup, the Community Energy Project has opened a new store onsite to provide affordable energy conservation tools to home owners. Their offerings range from storm-window coverings to calkings to ecologically responsible detergents. Historically in Portland, these items have only been available to low income residents and at a very high cost to more well-to-do residents but the average joe simply couldn't afford them.
