Best

I love their location, away from crowds and cars, best for pets that already sense they're ""not in Kansas"" anymore when they go to the vet. My load of critters love this vet......

PRIMO superior service and medicine, #1 in Durham!! 10/23/2008

I love their location, away from crowds and cars, best for pets that already sense they're ""not in Kansas"" anymore when they go to the vet. My load of critters love this vet...lordy, they've never enjoyed ""vetting"" so much :] Great geriatric care for the oldies, with calm compassion and helping them and me every step. Primo training advice for the new crazed pet, excellent monitoring (poor expereience in the past was eased when they took the time to explain the asst is always checking vitals, digital monitor is connected throughout anesthesia etc), explain their methods, protocol, and standards to the nines, and communicate with cats and dogs as great as they do with people. I like to say the ""room staff"" talk dog/cat, and the receptionists speak ""pet owner."" I've gone to over 10 hospitals in the last 10 years in the Triangle depending on where I'm living, what rescue or personal critter needs what service, emergency, and quality of care. I'm a repeat client at CPAH for the last 5 years. I go monthly with problem or consult and Allison Klaitman, Suzy Hughes, and Richard Hawkins are AMAZING docs, their staff of exceptionally kind and smart ladies causes my crew's tails to wag furiously, and they really have a great touch, judging animal reactions, symptoms, and truly listening to my input as the pet owner, who observes them daily, instead of relying so heavily only on what they see, hear, and feel in the exam room. When a highly technical disease/injury arises, they refer out to specialists, and still follow us closely, calling and emailing consistently throughout the ordeal(s). The efficiency, passion, and intelligence of this team of folks cannot be beat. Please take your pet to them and see, you'll be hooked as I and my cats/dogs are. Be sure to stop and smell the lovely flowers as you enter ;] Pros: Service, Medicine, Communication, Technology, Inviting and Caring Cons: None so far :] more

Standard care and service 12/4/2005

Provided standard care and service while I was there for 3 years. Many different staff there changed, but a few faces stayed I noticed from visit to visit with my dogs. Adding 2 more years to their distemper parvo vaccine made it 3 times costlier. Preferred experienced vets as they'd diagnose without running too many tests... if my dog had an ear infection the first and second time and it was yeast on the slide, the ""veteran"" vet didn't do yet another slide the 3rd time to confirm it, didn't charge exam, and refilled the antifungal ear med. I pay for more diagnostic tests with younger, less experienced staff trying to figure it out. Everyone has always been friendly and outgoing, I will give them that! Pros: Knowledgable Vets, Honest Service/Care, Efficient Assts more
