Cole Academy

Pros:\r * Great teachers and staff, very friendly and professional\r * Good class size and teacher attentiveness\r * Clean, safe, video security, you name it\r * Academics are a strong focus, well-planned school days\r \r Cons:\r * Costs more than other daycares, but you get what you pay for. We tried a different daycare before coming to Cole. We left the other school and came to Cole because there is such a bigger focus on quality and learning here. more

Our children have attended Cole Academy since they were infants, and we have been very, very pleased. The teachers we had are all well-educated with degrees in education. It was so nice to have such consistency, too -- the same teachers have been with the organization a long time so we've really gotten to know them, and they taught each of our kids as the younger siblings joined on. We've found the curriculum to be very learning-oriented -- our kids learned to read early, and when it came time for kindergarten tests and such, they were well above expectations for their age. The program is very consistent and the ratios are low in terms of not too many students-per-teacher. I also like that the facilities are kept neat and clean. This is the most overrated preschool on the island. I enrolled my child there and had to pull him out. Why you ask? Because of the inconsistencies with their teachers. \r \r With observing their management choices, I give them an F! They have this lady (Nadine) in charge, and the communication between her and the staff is Horibble!! From my knowledge, she's not qualified to be a teacher, let alone an office manager/ director! I've seen how she talks to the teachers first hand! With poor disgrace!! Now can you imagine this lady with your children?\r \r While they have a tshirt uniform standard, I've seen some teachers dressed for the job, while others dress for a day at the beach: spaghetti straps and halter tops, tight yoga pants, ect.. I don't want that around my child!\r \r While it's nice that the owners created this preschool, they are NEVER involved, and hardly know the abc's on how their school is run. I had heard about Cole Academy, but I didn't know if it was for my child. I also thought that I had a lot of time to choose the best school for my son. But when I had to go back to work in a hurry, and needed to place my son in a program, I realized that finding the right daycare for a working professional was not that easy. This is a fantastic school. The one nearest my house opened after my oldest child had already finished preschool, but my other 2 have attended since being infants. The ratios are very low, the teachers are much more educated and experienced than what I'd seen at other preschools, and my children learned so much more in their early years than I saw my older son exposed to at a different school. more
