I haven't a clue what these negative reviews are about. I have been a member for 15 years and have been going consistently. I have never seen anyone in the staff be rude, especially not the owners. The place is clean , organized, and offers everything as promised. Sometimes the air in the classroom is a bit stuffy, but they are responsive to problems. Now that the YMCA in Rockaway has opened, I might switch my membership, but only because there is an awesome lap pool open 12-14 hors a day for the same price. I even got a 20% discount for being a city employee. They have classes, too. But if you need an all-women's facility, Club Central rocks. more

biggest lieing crook in town. be alert, he makes up differnt prices for different people . Stole alot of money from me - Amex told me they r thinking of dropping him casue he is very nasty, STAY AWAY there are better gyms in town more

In a town where gyms and health clubs change ownership every few years, only one has been run successfully by the same owners for 15 years and continues to thrive....Club Central. It is always a red flag when there are scathing reviews on a business that are extreme. It automatically discredits the authors. So when I saw rubbish written about Club Central, I decided to speak up on behalf of the Thousand plus members who Love this gym! Eric and Skye, the proprietors of Club Central are not just businessman. They service the community with pride and devotion to the members and continuously raise the bar in service, classes and overall attention to details. Having had memberships in multiple clubs over the years, I have found Club Central to be meticulously clean, organized and efficiently run above all the others. Both Eric and Skye always take time to discuss members' concerns, interests, input et al. It is evident to all the satisfied and enthusiastic members that these scathing reviews are the work of one disgruntled former employee with a small following. How pathetic is is to see that much effort put into such malice laced reviews. It begs the question; if Club Central wasn't such an establishment of excellence, why would others be worried about new members joining? Why would they take the time to turn other people away from going in there? If an establishment was so poorly run, and provided such lousy service, in a small town such as Cedarhurst, Everyone would know! It certainly wouldn't be successfully growing with each passing day! In the past year, an entire new team of class instructors and trainers have joined an already talented and knowledgeable group, resulting in what it hands down the most comprehensive pool of talent in the 5 Towns community. From Spin to Zumba, Yoga to Kick Boxing and everything in between, Club Central offers something for Everyone, no matter what your fitness level. Additionally, Club Central remains competitively priced and offers the most for its membership. Unlike other gyms, the owners will assist people on the floor, and offer tips and guidance so that the members can gain the most out of their fitness regimen. And it is Spotless!!!!!!!! It is run like a private health club! Come in for a day and make an informed decision>>>I am confident you will see what I and every other member knows to be true! more

Come on people!!!! Let?s tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I?ve been a member at Club Central for 15 years. I joined when they opened and have consistently worked out daily, taken hundreds of classes and trained with numerous personal trainers. Many of the friends I?ve made there have also been long standing members for years. The reason?.. The owners are two of the nicest people you?ll ever have the pleasure to deal with. They are more than approachable and will do all they can to accommodate all their members. They?re administrative staff are all polite, courteous and always welcoming. The instructors and trainers are a team of the most knowledgeable fitness professionals offering an overall dynamic aerobic program. To say the gym is clean is an understatement and the new sound system; spin room and AC are nothing short of the constant effort to always offer something new at Club Central. The real facts are this. The negative reviews you may read are nothing but a self-absorbed malice attempt of a former disgruntled aerobics instructor with a very small clique of followers who, although has attempted to open a tiny studio of their own, has put more time and energy into a quest to deface Club Central than concentrate on their own endeavor. My suggestion is? let them show you what a great health club is. Form your own opinion. There?s a distinct reason why Club Central has been serving the 5 towns community for over 15 years and continuously bring the best fitness has to offer. Stop in, meet them, take a tour?..and tell em? Chava sent ya !! more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GYM OR SHOULD I SAY FROM ITS OWNERS!!! \r The owners are shady businessmen. I canceled my membership last year and apparently I owed them for one month. They had my card on file. They didn't charge my card NOR did they ever bill me for the month owed to them. Instead they waited a year and sent it directly to a collection agency. Now I owe almost double with all the accumulated fees associated with this. This could have all been avoided had they sent me a bill. This threatens my credit rating. Oh and by the way....they did this to about 20 plus members who all left around the same time. Unfortunately I'm not the only one. I guess they never heard about something called sending out a bill for money owed. They obviously don't care about their reputation. \r There should be an option for a NO STAR rating! more

This gym is ridiculous. My sister and I tried joining today and the owner was unbelievably nasty and verbally abusive. He told us that we can't try the gym out for a day to see if we like it (as most gyms offer 1-week passes) because he ""does't need customers to come overcrowd the gym"" Also, when we told him that his customer service sucks, he said ""well if you stop running your mouth and listen, you'll hear what i have to tell you"" This gym has certainly lived up to the reputation ive heard about. Look elsewhere..... more

I was a member at this gym for past 3 years. Over the past year, nearly ALL of the good aerobics instructors left because of nasty attitude from owners. The facility is tiny, filthy, and most of the time, there's not even toilet paper/tissue in the bathrooms. Owners refuse to operate ventilation system (to save energy, I guess), and many times the smell there is NAUSEATING! When I cancelled my membership, owners did not honor the membership agreement, and kept on charging my CC for months later, until my CC company took control. Due to demand, most of the fitness centers in my area now offer women-only classes and equipment rooms, so I no longer need to compromise, and neither do you : ) Good luck... more

Club Central is not the place it use to be. It’s had an increasingly negative vibe to it the last few months, the classes are not what they use to be, the hallway to the child care room is cluttered, management is consistently unfriendly when it comes to constructive criticism, they bad mouth trainers that use to work there, they’re just plain rude, except the receptionist (great person)! \r All these things I was able to tolerate until now. Club Central just instituted cost cutting measures where they have eliminated paper towels. No paper towels, are you f***ing kidding me!! How expensive can it be, obviously management doesn’t care about inconveniencing their members. That was the last straw, I cancelled my membership. But they had the nerve to charge me for an extra month; fine whatever. Maybe they can use that extra money to buy paper towels for their members.\r \r p.s. good riddance to that horrible leopard carpeting\r \r \r \r more

I really wanted to give this place a negative star. \r \r Fitness classes in the fitness room are a joke, as well as the instructors. The weight room is cramped and always looks like trash. It's just so cramped and crowded.\r \r I hope that you are not suckered into the belief that they care about you at Club Central, they only care about your money. If you have an issue, talk to the owners i'm sure that your issues will NOT get resolved and nothing will happen.\r \r I dont want to be completely negative, the parking is great\r \r \r more

THIS GYM IS AMAZINGLY GOOD. THE STAFF IS SUPER FRIENDLY AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS GREAT. THE EQUIPMENT IS USER FRIENDLY AND THE TRAINERS ARE VERY HELPFUL. WHAT I LIKE THE MOST IS THAT THE CLASSES ARE VERY DIVERSIFIED AND ALL THE INSTRUCTORS ARE VERY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY GOT IT RIGHT AT CLUB CENTRAL.... DONT GET FOOLED BY THOSE STUDIOS THAT ARE POPPING UP ALL OVER THE 5 TOWNS. MY SISTER IN LAW MADE THAT MISTAKE RECENTLY AND THE STUDIO WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. IF YOU ARE GOING TO JOIN A GYM THAN JOIN AN ESTABLISHED FACILITY.JOIN CLUB CENTRAL...UT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE AND ALL MY FRIENDS ARE MEMBERS more

This gym has everything. King of Queens got one thing right.....they absolutely want to please everyone.\r Two floors of gym, one exclusive to us girls, every piece of equipment you could imagine, beautiful clean locker rooms (showers), huge aerobic studio with too many classes to mention and childcare for the kids (A+). \r The staff is always courteous and willing to help in any way they can.\r I've been a member for years, made lots of friends, and all I see is progress. \r They're constantly offering new classes, events and bringing in the best instructors and trainers.\r The owners got it together.\r Keep doing what you're doing....it gets better and better every day.\r \r \r more

I've seen prison gyms on TV that were better equipped and had a friendlier atmosphere. The gym is cramped with archaic equipment and the flow from one piece of equipment is awkward at best. It's as if they just threw as much stuff on the floor as they could to try and please everyone. I felt stressed out for my entire workout. \r Don't bother making suggestions to the front desk they are typically rude and could care less and it shows as this attitude permeates the entire gym.\r more
