Had a great time 12/29/2010

I stayed here from July 9th to July 13th and had a great time. The staff was really nice and very helpful. They always made sure everything was ok and we were happy. They also gave us ideas of things we need to see and places to go eat at. This place is about 1/2 hour walking into town. I did it everyday with my mother. If you want to take a taxi you can for 6$. The rooms were very clean and they also had 2 cats when you came in, so I felt like I was home. I am playing to go back to Salem and I will stay there again more

Has everything you need 12/27/2010

For years I've been trying to find an affordable place to stay in Salem, Mass. during the month of October. The Clipper Ship Inn is it! It is not luxurious, but it has everything you need, is clean, and close to all the Salem attractions. I (secretly) hope no one finds out! more

Always enjoy my stay 12/20/2010

I've worked on a Continental Airlines for 6 years & come to Salem twice a year & always enjoy my stay at the Clippership Inn & always recommened my coworkers to staying at the Clippership because of the great location & customer service. You could walk into town but after the long day of sight seeing, I recommend taking a cab back. The rooms are great & the staff are always friendly & helpful. more

Room was very clean 12/17/2010

I just got off the road from a 4,300 mile road trip. My husband, son and I stayed in several hotels during our travels. Let me tell you, this hotel is a gem. Our room was very clean and the air conditioner worked great. The courtyard of the hotel was well maintained and proved to be a nice place to sit and relax. Quite with a faint hint of sea air. This is not a cookie cutter hotel. Our room was tastefully decorated. The beds were more comfortable than the beds at the 4 star hotel we statyed at the nights before. I slept wonderfully. The clippership is just a short drive from downtown Salem. No trouble at all to get to where you want to go. The night that we where to arrive at the clippership, the manager called us on the road to make sure we were alright and not lost. We where stuck in Boston traffic. She was very helpful with directions. She also had much knowledge about area attractions. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. more

Comfortable an clean 12/7/2010

I visit Salem Mass. at least once a year, every year for past twelve years. You do the math. Clipper Ship Inn. i my choice for all this years. This is not a hotel. Clipper Ship Inn. is a comfortable an clean motel with a great location close to historic Salem, atractions, restaurants andshopping. It is also a walking distance from the train for all those who still travel the old good way. Clipper Ship Inn is giving you a great deal for the money. Highly recommended for everybody. Great atmosfere and memories, no disappointments! more

Reasonably priced 12/3/2010

The close proximity to historic Salem was the main reason we stayed here. It's less than a mile walk to the Salem Common and reasonably priced. The surrounding area is run down but that's not their fault and we had no problems during our stay. Having a few cats roaming the grounds was nice and they are friendly and have collars.( They are pets not feral) All in all I won't be against going back next time we are in town. This was our 4th trip to Salem. more

motel 11/13/2008

We stayed here when we visited Salem a few years ago. It was your typical motel and its located outside of the "tourist" area. It was clean and the staff was nice but you will have to drive into town. more
