Highly recommend Clearwater for dog training. I have worked with them several times in the past and most recently with a very energetic puppy. I was concerned at the beginning that our new family member wasn't going to be a good fit for us, but our work with Clearwater proved us wrong! She's still a puppy -- but learning each day and very responsive to what we have learned in the classes. It is clear that this organization cares sincerely about the relationship between dog and owner, and they want it to be a win-win for everyone. Two thumbs up! more

I have 2 difficult dogs and when we started training they improved immensely. One of the dogs was biting people out of fear which has now subsided. Everyone at Clearwater Dog Training are wonderful. They know what they are doing, know how to handle problem pups. They train the people as well as the dogs :) If you are having problems with your dog, come to Clearwater Dog training, their prices are very reasonable for dog training and the quality of service is outstanding. I came to them on a high recommendation from an employee at a pet store and I am giving them a high recommendation as well. more

Very helpful and knowledgeable folks. 1/17/2012

Very helpful and knowledgeable folks. I have been working with Clearwater Dog Training for a couple of months now to re-train the behavior of my two, extra large, 'rescue' Rottweilers and the improvement has been remarkable. I knew that I had my work cut out for me when I adopted big dogs but I am an experienced dog handler and was thinking that it would work out OK. I soon found that I needed help with their aggressive tendencies and poor house manners. At Clearwater I found a very dog friendly environment and people who know their stuff. Gina and Tom have been a tremendous resource for me and my dogs. Using the techniques and training methods that they have shown me I believe that we've turned the corner on a number of behaviors that had me questioning whether I'd be able to keep both dogs. Thanks guys, I don't think that I could have done it without you. more

GREAT DOG TRAINING!! We had a new 1/13/2012

GREAT DOG TRAINING!! We had a new puppy that was out of control. We found Clearwater Dog Training and started working with Gina to train the puppy in basic obedience and reign in his barking and aggressiveness. Gina is a life saver and a dog guru. She showed us not only how to train him for his basic commands, she worked with us to curb his dog aggressiveness to the point where he's dog friendly now. We were so impressed with the progress in training the puppy we asked Gina to help us with our six year old German Shepherd Dog since she liked to ignore us. We also made great strides with her and both dogs obey all their commands better than I could have hoped for ... the first time. Gina truly loves the dogs she works with and has given me many insights into dog psychology and they way they think and behave. I'm a better dog owner for having worked with Gina and Tom. more

Great Dog Training! 11/28/2011

We have two Schnauzer/Poodle mixes, littermates, that have been a challenge for us. Even though we have been trying to socialize them since they were puppies, they did not do well around other dogs. Gina worked not only with our basic training, sit, come, stay, etc., she worked quite a bit on their socialization. She has dogs and cats she uses to work with her clients and it helped us so much! Her animals didn't react to ours so we were able to socialize and desensitize them in a safe environment. We have noticed a HUGE difference now when we are out and about meeting other dogs. Not only did her private lessons help, but she offers unlimited group after the private lessons are complete. With Gina and Tom's help, we can now come to group without our two dogs barking and they actually tolerate other dogs getting in their space. Gina was our second trainer and we wish we would have found her first!! more

Despicable 11/19/2011

BEWARE, THIS BUSINESS IS PATHETIC!!! The facility is dingy, dirty & a germ bucket filled with cats, dogs & birds. I found it quite interesting that my 17 week old puppy contracted a staph infection following 4 visits, and she had been well protected in my home prior to receiving all immunizations. It is possible this could this have occurred in spite of visits to Clearwater, it is also possible that I will one day win the lottery. Every few minutes one of the aforementioned animals is whining for attention, interrupts the session & either the owner Gina, Tom, a talentless boob or someone else basically tells them to shut up, real nice. Two quite older dogs were limping around each of my visits & snapped at my dog angrily, they both smelled as though not bathed in some time & had horrible breath which was obviously from neglect. I completed 4, 30 minute training sessions & in 3 of the 4 appointments Gina was as much as 20 minutes late. The training exercises were doled out to me on pieces of whatever scrap paper Gina could find laying around. Amazing. I left a message for Gina explaining my dog contracted a serious infection & would be on an antibiotic for 10 days, 3 times daily & that I was quite disappointed with this & her poor training. The woman basically challenges my work & says I hope you come back. I drafted an email to Gina requesting she be honorable & return a portion of my $325. & she absolutely ignored me. If you are looking for a new, miserable, experience to throw away hard earned money & get zero quality than Clearwater is the place for you. more

Trained Tails Are Happy Tails

Owner Message
  • Since 1989, Gina Krehbiel at Clearwater Dog Training in Denver Colorado has trained hundreds of dogs, from the smallest Chihuahua to the largest Mastiff. We train all breeds, and specialize from puppy training (beginning at 8 weeks old) to the very problematic adult dog. Training sessions begin in private class. A private class provides the platform to understand your worries, concerns and fears about your current situation. You and your dog have a unique relationship that is much like a fingerprint. We want to help you understand your dog and understand how you and your dog relate to each other. Once your dog completes private classes, you can begin participating in group classes, where you and your dog will continue honing your obedience skills with the distractions of other people and animals. Our program consists of 8 private classes followed with group training.

Gina regularly participates in dog contests/shows, where both her dogs, and her students' dogs, often compete. She also extends and includes in her classes the wisdom of Tellington Touch, Healing Touch for animals, Reike, Acupressure, and Massage all wrapped up in her own formula of Doggie Yoga. This therapeutic way of learning to touch your dog will massively enhance the trust and bond that is so very much a part of the building blocks to creating a happy, healthy, well-adjusted trainable dog.

    We Are Committed To Helping!
Clearwater Dog Training provides an education that is not only based on methods of obedience, but also provides a better understanding of canine behavior. This gives the owner the ability and confidence to manage their dog outside the classroom setting. It is our firm belief that this curriculum ultimately results in fewer unwanted dogs, fewer euthanized animals, and fewer instances of abuse due to a lack of understanding.
