We stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. For the price we paid, I was satisfied. There were several restaurants and shopping within driving distance.Easy to get to freeway and downtown was not far. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. more

Well furnished rooms of a decent size. Pleasant competent staff. Good maintenance and cleanliness. Basic continental breakfast included in a separate room. Comfortable beds. Reasonably priced for the area. Direct TV with over 200 channels; much better than some hotels offer. Nice fast internet computer in lobby. more

Received a nice goody bag for being a Privileges member. Room was very nice with lots of furniture, could use a maintenance person to fix a couple of little things. Had to redo cabling and reboot Direct TV box to get anything at all on TV, which was a very nice large HDTV. The bed was comfortable, shower was hot and shower head high enough to not poke 6`1"" person in the face. Good night's sleep, very quiet. Will stay here again. more

I have been staying at the Clarion Inn on Monterey Road in San Jose for several weeks. This hotel is by far the best hotel in the area, for the money. The rooms are good size, clean and have been remodeled fairly recently. The TV's are all large flat screens with a lot of channels. Breakfast is wonderful and FREE. I stay in one of the rooms that offer the jacuzzi tub because I have a bad back. Rooms on the 3rd floor have vaulted ceilings that make the space feel wide open and extra large. If you have any needs or questions, ask for Fred and he will help you. The customer service is almost the best feature when you stay at this hotel as they aren't happy unless you have a great stay. Bottom line is this is an excellent hotel with great amenities and customer service for the price. more

My wife and I needed a quick 1 day getaway and I saw this place and decided to give it a try. I'm very happy and the lady at the front deck was extremely nice and pleasant. The room is a little out of day but the price is HARD to beat. Very surprised about how affordable the suite was and it was huge!!! I would definitely stay here again. Very pleased!!! more

Very nice Little Inn. You cant even tell this hotel is located here. They have improved it a lot from the last time I was there, lot of remodel done. The front-desk manager Usha is great, always helpful. Will be back for sure. more

I enjoyed my recent stay. The DirecTV was great, and the morning breakfast was decent. There were hard boiled eggs, bagels, nice big waffles, cereal, apple and orange juice, along with muffins, toast, yogurt, bananas, and oatmeal packets.\r Bed was comfortable with nice pillows and air conditioning in room worked nicely. more

WoW, this little hotel is hidden just south of San Jose, and they service is great, you always see a smile when you walk in the office, Usha the frond desk manager is always very helpfull and always makes sure we are satistified when we check-out, I have been here three times now and will continue coming here and make it my permenant stay when I am in San Jose. more

Just stayed at this hotel and it was worth it. Great and reasonable price. Wonderful service. The room was perfectly large. There is even a restaurant next door. more

I have stayed at the Clarion Inn before and enjoyed the services but my past extended stay was a real treat. I was in a stressful state of mind and was greeted and treated so nicely and pleasantly, by a staff that i was soon on a first name basis with. From their outstanding Breakfast (even cinnamon rolls) to their clean and quiet rooms, every need one would have was taken care of. Plus the easy access to Downtown and major highways is a hugh convenience. I will use the Clarion Inn again and I can highly recommend it to all. Thank you Sean, Usha, Mark, Dora, Juanita and all the others. Till next time Take Care. more

This was a good deal. 90 bucks, and the room was great! Hot tub wasn't working but breakfast was great, reception was great, nice clean, well maintained. I'd definitely stay here again. more

Fast and free wifi, quiet, and clean. My husband and I go to San Jose annually for memorial day to work at a local convention and this is the first time I've ever gotten a good night's sleep at a motel on a holiday weekend.\r \r Mattress was comfortable. It came with shampoo (which is more than I can say for the Motel 6 we stayed at the day before checking in here). Above all, it was relatively soundproofed. I can't complain. more

Hotel lobby was very pretty and staff was welcoming and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. Only thing I missed was an outlet to charge my electronic devices--I unplugged a lamp. Computer in the lobby was fast. Breakfast was pretty much what I've come to expect in hotels. Overall it was an excellent experience. more

I have just returned from a stay at the Clarion Silicon Valley Inn in San Jose California. To be honest I was slightly apprehensive about my stay there after reading a number of reviews on tripadvisor. My concerns were unwarranted.\r \r The hotel staff both at check-in and check-out were pleasant. They checked me in and out efficiently and were happy to address my concerns.\r \r The room itself was clean and tidy, well up to my particular standards. I was pleased to see that the carpets were clean [considering some previous reviews]. The bathroom was a little unusual as the sink was in the room and the toilet and bath were ina separate room. The T.V. i admit was a little fuzzy, but i spent little time in the room so that had little influence on my opinion of the room. The free high speed internet was definitely a plus; it had reasonable signal during the periods of time i was in the room. more

This is a basic yet very convenient place to stay, in the sense that it's 3 minutes' walk away to bus stops directly to downtown (20 minutes), and this inn provides free wifi (with unique user name and password), free breakfast (with Waffle batter and Waffle grill! well, extra fruits would make it nicer), coffee pot, iron and iron boards, which are all essential nowadays. It often happens that if you stay in a 4 or more star hotel, all of above things may be charged extra. It's well worth the money to stay in this inn and have all the conveniences. Generally speaking, the bed is comfortable, the room is spacious, and the front desk is very courteous. I'm very satisfied with my stay there. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/25/2014

The motel is on a busy street, out room was against the street & the noise wasn't bad. The room was nicer than I expected from the pictures. I could only get a room with a king size bed, so we brought a cot for my son & there was plenty of room. The breakfast room was small, but it did the job. more

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, tho I had planned to only spend one night.I decided to stay on at this hotel instead of looking for a ""better "" place for many reasons. First of all, the front desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful on the phone when i called to check for availability around 10p.m after being on the road for 9 hours. When i arrived, he carried my bags upstairs for me..as they were heavy and there was no elevator. I really appreciated this. The room was spotless, and I am picky! There was a microwave and coffee maker as well as a midsize compact refridgerator...not the tiny ones u often find. Hairdryer in bathroom and toiletries. Quiet also. The other desk clerks during the day were courteous and anxious to help as well. maids were meticulous and friendly. As a woman traveling solo, i did not feel at all unsafe in this hotel..however I was in the main building. There was a computer in the lobby for guest use. Furniture in rooms was upscale and I was amazed at the amenities in the room and quality of facility for the price....much better than many hotels twice the price. I hated to leave and go to embassy suites for my last two nights as the price was more than double but i had reservations and would have been charged! Next time I am in San Jose I will stay here again with no hesitation. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/5/2014

I was in San Jose on family matters when we made a last-minute booking for this place. The price was very satisfactory for a big room with 2x queen beds. Our relatives even ended up moving in here as well, after being dissatisfied with the Holiday Inn, and were very pleased with their decision to move.\r \r As mentioned, the rooms are quite spacious. The beds are very comfortable, but I found the pillows too soft for my liking. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. Everything was very clean.\r \r Front desk staff are friendly and welcoming. When we had a toilet blockage one night, someone did forget to send up the plumb as requested, but the problem was dealt with promptly and efficiently the following morning.\r \r Breakfast included hot beverages, juice, eggs, waffles (self-service waffle maker), cereal, several types of bread, as well as boxes of brownies, mini cinnamon scrolls etc. Tasty and will fill you up well (though of course not as spectacular as what I've been spoiled with at European hotels). Bottles of water can be found in the minifridge in the breakfast room if you need one for the day. \r \r The location worked perfectly for our purposes and activities, which were mostly in the vicinity, and we had a car (for which there was ample, free parking at the hotel). However it may not suit everyone's needs, especially if you don't have a car, as it's a bit out of the way. But then again, San Jose really is a place where you generally do need a car.\r \r We would definitely stay here again more
