Front desk was the nicest I have ever talked to. From taking reservations to checking in. We requested extra time and they were very very helpful. Nicest people ever. We had 2 rooms. One of us had a Dr appointment in Redwood City so we spent to night before going home. more

The price here is one of the cheaper places to stay in Silicon Valley. Thus, I was a little worried but was thankful to find an attentive front desk worker, a very spacious and clean room (with plenty of furniture, as in a table, chairs, dresser, larger chair, microwave, fridge, another cabinet), and a basic continental breakfast in the morning (cereal, pastries, waffles, yogurt, fruit). The high rating here is based on the cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms. Otherwise, it is not the best value (considering the price point) but this is what you get in the Adjacent Bay Area. more

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past 3 years while visiting San Jose. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. The rates are pretty good for the area. It is convenient to San Jose and there are plenty of services close by. There is a decent breakfast (typical yogurt, bagels, cereal, coffee) available. This is not a destination hotel, but definitely a good choice for an overnight or two stay in the SJ area. This is my go-to choice when I am out there. more

Stayed here while attending a wedding in the area. The bed was ok, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast was average for free breakfast but the breakfast room was very hot. The location felt a bit dicey but overall decent place for the money. more

â??stayed last minute, was not disappointedâ??\r \r My boyfriend and I wanted to make a stop in Santa Cruz before driving back down to San Diego. We were in Concord and decided to stay in San Jose to cut off some driving time for the next day. We had to find someplace last minute, and most of the other hotels we looked at were booked up or a little too expensive. We booked this room on the way down. \r \r The hotel lobby was really nice, it had an old victorian feel to it. The place was really more like a B&B than a chain hotel, which we really liked. The staff were all very nice, even though we checked in really late the young girl working there was alert and ready to help us out. Our room was upstairs and I didn't see an elevator, so that might be something to consider if you cannot use stairs. \r \r The room was beautiful, very clean. We just had a single queen bed I think. The TV was large and was able to get good reception. They offer free wifi, I don't think we needed a password. I was really happy about how well the wifi worked because I had an online meeting to log into the next morning, and I was able to do so without any problem. The parking lot was small but I think it reflected the number of rooms available. very quiet during our short stay.\r \r The location is decent. We wanted to stay in that area because we had a friend who lived nearby that we wanted to see that night. There isn't a whole lot walking distance, but you can get just about anything you need with a short drive. \r \r $130 a night seems expensive, but it was a great value considering we split it between two of us, and I usually pay about 60 to 70 on my own when I stay at a hotel. Also, the room and service was excellent so we had absolutely no gripe about the price, especially when you consider we booked the room just a few hours before we stayed. We have had bad experiences with cheap, low star places before, so we are okay with spending a bit more for quality. This isn't really a place to pack as many people as you can into a room. It's more for a comfortable stay with the appropriate number of people, so if you are perhaps taking a trip to san jose and staying for a while, I would recommend the Clarion. more

We stayed here for 4 nights in late March, as we were in the area for Wrestlemania.\r \r Hotel was extremely clean with comfy beds. Cable on the flat screen TVs made staying in the room enjoyable. Staff were friendly and very helpful and the free breakfast was nice also. Hotel is situated a 5 minute walk from Burger King, KFC and 7/11\r \r Only problem I had with the hotel was location. It's about 15 minutes drive from Downtown San Jose, although it does have Bus links outside. Don't the know the area well but didn't feel too safe when leaving the hotel at night. Having said that we encountered no trouble.\r \r Would stay again definitely more

My wife and I needed to stay a couple nights, to move my Mother, prior to selling. We needed a inexpensive place to stay, within a couple miles away. I was lucky to get the last room available, and I'm glad I did. The room was comfortable, my wife thought the bed was to hard, but it's a manner of opinion. The breakfast was good, nothing special. The area was not the best, and we were worried about our car getting broke into, or even stolen. Would I stay there again? Yes. more

overall quite nice. Decent little breakfast, clean rooms, looks like it may have been a halfway house or something similar to that at one point of it's life. I dug it. more

The Clarion Inn Silicon Valley is an older hotel located in an industrial/business zone south of downtown San Jose. My husband and I made our reservations online and the price we received for the room provided (two queen beds) was very good. We found the room very satisfactory and clean, and the bathroom likewise. The hotel's public areas and guest rooms have been renovated within the last few years, making the in-room experience much better than one would expect just by driving by the hotel. the check-in, check-out was satisfactory and efficient. Front desk personnel were pleasant but not overly friendly. more

Silicon experience! Suggestion: you should come to this place! Reason for Trip: visited friends in san jose. Overall is very good, except don't like too much of a sink and bathroom built separately. more

This was a good choice for hotel when traveling in the South Bay. It was pretty central to where I needed to be. The room was clean and comfortable. The wi-fi was not very strong and the breakfast is okay. For a place to work from and sleep at night, it was very good. more

I find this hotel to be nicely centralized and the best rate around if working the San Jose and Los Gatos areas. more

clean, conveniently located, good price, friendly staff\r \r The staff was very friendly at check in, the room was very clean, did not smell bad at all. We had everything we needed, and the breakfast had a lot of variety. I feel that it was a good value for the location, and everything included. more

Family Easter Event\r \r Although this location is a bit outdated, it is clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is continental. The pool area is nice and the grounds are well kept. There is ample parking. It is simple and clean. Good value. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/7/2015

Wish we found this place sooner!\r \r Reason for Trip: Business in Silcon Valley\r \r Great one bedroom suite. The bedroom was massive and had a large bathtub that the kids enjoyed. The living room was just as large. DirecTV was also an unexpected surprise.\r \r The breakfast area could have been a little larger, it was very cramped and seemed to only have 6 tables. There wasn't enough room for everyone to sit. more

This is a warm first impression especially having traveled from out of town. And the rest of the stay was nice. Good clean room and bathroom. Ordered room service and all in all, the food and drinks are good. Nice touch with the complimentary bottled water from dining services. Would stay here again if the opportunity arises. more

We stayed here one night to cut down on the drive between Monterey and the Northern Redwoods so we chose based on location and price and both were good. Our room was clean more
